The way the judge is able to understand the second guy is like the equivalent of a parent being able to understand their own child's weird way of verbalizing before they really start making complete sentences. To be fair he's also talking really really fast, I could probably understand him better if he slowed down a bit~

Especially with Judge Stevens. Judge Stevens wants to have his questions answered briefly and precisely (with attorneys too!) and moves hearings at a brisk pace. Whenever he does end up getting out, he'll be back! 😂😂😂

If she does luck out with a nice guy, she will be bored within a month, and go right back to running around...

There was another judge that was dealing with another sovereign citizen. At one point, he said, "I get to do sh*t you don't get to do. It's part of wearing the robes." 😂 if you ever get a chance to watch that particular encounter, I highly recommend it. That judge was very entertaining while also being informative!

I think Dubus spelled his name wrong and he's just playing games until his eventual guilty verdict, fine, and possible incarceration. He doesn't want an attorney because then he doesn't get the attention he craves. The Judge's always say they're going to hold Pro se defendants to the same level of behavior as licensed Attorney's but they never do. Can you imagine what a Judge would say and do if they uttered such foolishness? Move him along to his eventual guilty status.

A church congregation, stopping by just to observe, can make all the difference in a courtroom. Imagine the glut of cases just moving very quickly through to the finish. I think Judge Ricke is underrated in these court videos. He's pretty 'straightforward' and blunt as they come. Maybe not as animated as Judge Stephens, Judge Boyd or Judge DeSanto or the OG Judge Simpson, but he's pretty good!

This was a shoplifting case as he was arrested for stealing from a Lowes for months so each count ended up a seperate charge plus charges from the arrest itself since he allegedly didn't go peacefully. He had already served time for the SA charge but wracked up another charge because he failed to let the government know he had a new address which is a requirement when you're on the registry. That's why it's a laid back hearing. He's appealing the case that was already tried and he was currently serving time for over the shoplifting and the judge is thoughtfully explaining the process to him and his options.

Do jails rehabilitate? Rarely does a person come out of imprisonment fit for society. Tremendously difficult finding employment and healthcare is rare. If the convicts have mental problems and or drug/alcohol problems, the likelihood of repeat offenders and affecting other’s personal safety, property and lives is only a matter of a short period.

I don't think so? It seems as if any rehabilitation via jail is incidental, while programs like drug rehab or mental health court provide greater rehabilitation opportunities. I believe the use of jail sentences is more for punishment or the greater community's safety. I'm definitely not an expert, tho.

sadly, they really dont. they dont have the programs that a rehab facility have. and most jails dont have the budget to provide the programs that are really needed. its a major problem. when I was in jail, they only had the ged program and AA/NA meetings. they aren't bad but honestly not good enough to help.

@mrzfieldz.official Our society feels so judgemental. It's as if there's only good ppl or bad ppl, with no room for good ppl who may not make the best choices. When ppl are judged so harshly, no one wants funding to improve jails/prisons. That just has to change somehow. (Sorry, considering my lack of expertise or suggestions for change, this is probably a soap box I should step away from!)
