@recoveringsoul7554 жыл бұрын
Straws banned and 10 cents for plastic grocery bags, yup, that CA. I had to buy a reusable straw. It's telescoping, metal, comes with a brush to clean it and all fits in a carry case. I only use straws when I'm out so that'll work. Went to Costco last week and they gave me a cardboard straw. Some places even ban the plastic lids. They must like cleaning up. Last time I went to a movie, they wouldn't even let me take my water bottle inside. Wanted me to buy a plastic water bottle. I save landfills by NOT getting single use plastic water bottles and carry my own reusable one. I was born in Ohio, mom from Wisconsin, Dad from Illinois, but his mom buried in MO. I say soda or soda pop. My folks called the couch a davenport. Maybe that's why I can't stand the traffic, the rudeness, the crowds of CA. Never really felt like I fit in here. Now that my parents have passed....doesn't feel like home anymore.
@gregorysoave84134 жыл бұрын
Straws aren't actually banned. You can still buy them at stores. Restaurants and Fast Food places can't give you one, if you don't ask. Just ask for one, I always do. You may have to ask for the lid too but they should have them. Many places are using paper straws to be more environmentally friendly. Weird about the water bottle at the movie. I see almost EVERYONE now carrying some type of reusable water bottle (hydroflask, thermos) and they have let me in the movies with them. Bottled water definitely is less popular than it used to be.

In FL🌊, plastic straws are banned generally in restaurants. They have the flimsy kind made from corn that is biodegradable. In one grocery store when you bring your own bag, you get a 10¢ credit deducted from your bill or a donation token to drop into a depository - a choice of three local non-profit organizations. I'm from IA with siblings living in S.D., so I can imagine hearing some of these comments coming from them & their sheltered existence.

“I have yet to see a cloud...” As a Californian who regularly travels to snowy lands (I’m in Berlin right now and the forecast for tomorrow is snow), it’s the complete opposite. As soon as the snow falls, I run outside and twirl around in it with the joy of a child seeing snow for the first time. It both bewilders and mildly sickens locals who have been over the weather for at least 6 months.

Where does a Midwesterner get their Casey’s taco pizza when not in the Midwest?

Iced coffee I’ve only heard of it in these videos. Must not have them in Michigan or at least the parts I’ve been in.

It’s amazing the similarities between the Midwest and the far northeast. Love this stuff.

Pocahontas 2020 Don’t worry we’re not about to move over there. Far too much snow for most of us. I can hunt birds all season in a pair of brush pants and a short sleeve shirt. In two hours from the ocean the mountains the desert and the mountains. Our political leaders may suck and the taxes are high, but if you do what most of us do and just ignore the unconstitutional gun laws they attempt to enforce then it’s not so bad. I know you guys think that everyone in California thinks like San Francisco but it’s not really that way.

You’re not missing much on burgers from Culver’s they are good but nothing special but the cheese curds.... 🔥

Exactly this is America I’ll go wherever the fuck I want haha not everyone in California is the same bro we are all different we all don’t think like San Francisco as most people say we all have different views ... and you can find cheese curds in California as well! Hello world ☺️ and have a great day😁
