Buy a shovel. If you dont already have one. The plastic ones are good for deep snow, but the metal ones really clean up the snow better so your sidewalk doesn't turn into mt Everest in January.

For us in Maine it was the blizzard of '08. 7 Days our house was out of power and we didn't have a generator. Luckily I worked at an office with a shower so I could go in early and still do that, but when I got home it was bundle up and read a book by the candle light. #FirstWorldProblems

I was in Minnesota for the 91 storm at job corp training. Made alot of $ shoveling and we had a great time in the dorms drinking and playing cards. Cafeteria ran out of food so we hit every place we could for beer and food!

Having grown up in the Midwest my whole life i've figured out how much snow you will actually get. Just take what the weather people say and knock 80% off and that's your real total lol Edit: I forgot the other scale too. If they say 1-2 inches, it's either nothing or a foot of snow. There is no in between

Happened too many times lol. One time, they had the forecast nailed. Only problem was from Shawano to Southern Marinette County, there was a 20-mile wide swath where only 5-8 inches fell, and the others has 12+ inches in spots. I was so bummed.

Halloween Day, 1991. I was in 4th grade. I remember it well. During the 10am 15 minute recess, it started snowing. Lunch recess, there was maybe an inch or two on the ground but HUGE snowflakes. Then by the time we got out of school??? At least 8-10" on the ground and still snowing. It snowed until the next day around lunch. In New Richmond, WI, we had like 42" total snow at that point. Probably one of the best winter memories of my childhood. Thanks for the reminder!!!

As a Floridian, snow prep is not something we are used to. But it seems like a very similar process we go through for hurricane prep. Especially relatable when the hurricane turns at the last second and you get a light rain after all the prep. 😂🤣😂
