It absolutely fascinates me that every Narc is EXACTLY the same. They are so predicable, every move. Stay No Contact. They are worthless. No matter how much it hurts! They are trash!!

I told the old narcissistic friend "I've spent to much time, with the wrong people, doing the wrong things and now it's caught up with me." Meaning everyone I was spending time with and investing emotions and care shown to be a wrong investment of time and feelings. I was discarded because I said no to alcohol and drugs while others continued and left me out while they would ditch their wife's and kids to have fun. The only reason my narc mother wants me around is to validate her in the eyes of other people. They use people as weapons against whomever is their “enemy” in any particular moment. All they ever do is use people to triangulate against other people.

I only wish the best for my ex. I don’t dwell on him. I miss being married so much. It’s been a year and a half and my life is unbelievable now. All the things I wanted to do are now being done. I lost myself loving him. I’m sewing, writing, drawing, playing my music and making new friends. God showed me who really loved me. My revenge is living well and no contact!

Parental alienation, that PART, I can’t forget or forgive. Too painful

After 2 decades, I finally discovered that I was an empath people pleaser who developed a co-dependent trauma bond with my narc brother and father. A few months ago when I finally began to understand what this was, I went minimal contact and set healthy boundaries. Life is so much better already. Unfortunately, when I was under his spell, my brother convinced me to buy a property with him, so he is my neighbor. However, my wife and I are saving money to move to a property of our own, so we can cut ALL ties with him for good. I can't wait!

I redirected her anger from my kids to myself. Despite my preparation, it was very destructive. I was bullied by the police, mutual friends, and my kids’ school. There is zero support for men in Australia. I lost everything, including my business and friends. Strangers took me in for five days so I didn’t end up on the street. Now, I’ve just found a new place and have a job coming up. I am extremely tired but excited because my new life has just started.

I pray in the name of Jesus that my narcissistic husband that left me cannot find another person to deceive and his demons are starved for supply. Amen.

I was so nieve. Went down the same road twice, with 2 different people. I never believe people like them actually existed. 1st time I thlught it was a fluke... 2nd time made me understand there are more people like this than realized. I will never go thru anything like that again. I would rather remain single. I pray everyday for my 3 small Children that are forced to live it on a daily basis. Recently, they are in the process of being alienated from me. I hope one day they will actually understand what happened. The 1st time I went thru it, 2 of my children were alienated. They are adults now. I've tried to mend the bonds between us but to no avail, the damage had already been done... Going thru it all over again 15 years later. I believe Parental Alienation to be up there with one of the most damaging experiences someone can go thru in their lives. The chaos, confusion, it's just a nightmare perpetuating the cycle. Healing wishes to everyone going thru it. 🙏

In the 1980's I escaped from a narcissist and had never heard that word. I found him too controlling and suffocating. It was super hard, but I got a small U-Haul, moved out, and left while he was at work. I was singing the Paul Simon song, "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover". I went to my friend's place and never spoke to him again. "Just slip out the back Jack Make a new plan, Stan No need to be coy, Roy You just listen to me Hop on the bus, Gus You don't need to discuss much Just drop off the key, Lee And get yourself free."

At 70 trying to get out of a disastrous marriage to a narc - I didn't even know about narcissism till I met and married him(5yrs now), lost all my money, smeared at my church and completely lied to State police about domestic violence, I was served a PFA for trying to do bodily harm to him after getting out of the hospital from a bad fall at church - so he says I shouldn't been served bc he dismissed it - I didn't believe him - called the court where he lied and said I was in a terrible car accident - waiting for the court to confirm that with paperwork for my lawyer - so moved back north to be near family - my life is in limbo - my stuff in 2 storages until this is finished - living with my bed and 2 suitcases of clothes........but I talk to God and just thank him for everyday he gives me

I am here today because, without me wanting or wishing it, the past has caught up with my very narcissistic ex of 13 years that I left 7 years ago with our 10 year old son. I did indeed slow my life down and heal, though I still had to deal with him ...which grew less and less over the years. But now he is chronically ill and came here and ordered me to go stay with him....which in the end I said no to....is now in hospital and living alone at home. If he had even loved me even a little bit I might help. But he never did. At all. Ziltch. Nada. I think he was trying to end me in every way. And he very nearly did CPTSD bad for years, but far better now. Wish me strength. Pray for me. Pray for him. Pray for our son. Bless you all.

I have a Covert Narcissist mom, everything you've stated is 100% spot on.

'Karma', 'payback' are terms often used to describe what most victims of narcissistic abuse desire or need. I would say that 'justice' is the best word, particularly when criminality, abuse and the disbelief of family, friends and co-workers are ones' lot. "If not now, when?" as you often say, Andrew. Maybe God will judge finally. At least, I hope so.

So much of the healing path is staying on the higher ground. It is work putting ourselves first, second, and third. When we do that, we find that daily, we have to protect our own energy. We have to stay higher frequency. Wishing harm to anyone, pulls down our frequency. Radical acceptance is learning that other people are where they are in their own frequencies. We are responsible for maintaining only our own frequency.

I have seen this first hand. When i saw the disrespectful, irresponsible way her clients were treated, you wonder how do they get any business ? If they are pushy, driven for money, driven to find new supply with a revolving door of potential buyers, sellers they will get real cozy, flirtatious, let that willing client give them supply. Then once a deal is done, boom like clockwork working on new sources to bait and future fake. if i may say, i met in a different way. The vulnerable life circumstance Andrews has spoken of, but i digress. Nowadays i can see the affects as its in public view and advertising. Its down to nothing. A minuscule fraction. Any more than that i dont know or care. It does cost them. The higher they went up, the further they fall down. I stayed occupation non specific , but i bet it matches with others experience in what i feel can be a parasitical occupation of an extreme opportunist.....of vulnerability.

When my ex began visitations (during the day only where he could maintain his mask to some degree), he parentaly alienated and smear campaigned me in order to turn my daughter against me, his intention - to take her off of me and leave me with absolutely nothing (not happy with leaving me broke, he wanted everything). I really thought I'd lost her, it felt like a death I had to come to terms with, not only the loss of the fantasy relationship with him, but also my child. A year and a half later, after visitations began to include sleepovers, my daughter began to experience who her father really was for herself. She realised that she felt stressed and angry after being around him and made the decision to go No Contact. He, of course, accuses me of turning her against him etc etc, when I had nothing to do with her decision, it was he alone that determined the outcome, because he chose not to change, to put the effort in to be respectful and loving around her.

The covert narcissist I left over a year ago almost killed me, literally. He destroyed my family. Turned my girls against me. That took my grandchildren away from me. My oldest daughter hasn't let me so much as talk to my grandson in 6 years. He was 7 years old the last time I saw him. I'm hoping that he, at least, when he is old enough to drive will come to see me.

It's been 3 years since I blocked and stopped all contact with the narcissist I was dating. Was only with him for 6 months, and I'm still in a state of trauma. The problem is I don't know how to heal. I'm not trying to play the victim, cause I know I deserve better and deserve dignity and respect and love, but the mental abuse has still left me unhealed. I've tried seeing a therapist, I listen to therapy videos on KZfaq, and i find myself still broken. My narcissist has nearly broken my spirit. And idk why i don't know how to heal myself. I'm about to be 40 and I've technically been single for the past 8yrs (unintentionally). But being so mentally abused has stirred the fear in me to even want to meet anyone. Even tho i want to meet someone so bad. But I will never allow another narcissist to enter my life, and now I can see one coming from a million miles away. I don't have friends or family, or kids, so i have to heal without any emotional, spiritual, or mental support from another human being. I just don't know how to alone. 😔

Not in my experience. When the narc is super-rich, he/she can be abusive to the end. The family is too worried about being left out of the will to risk offending their abuser. My former father-in-law got his butt kissed up the moment he descended into Hell. His even more abusive daughter, who I stupidly married, is sitting on a huge trust fund (which I never had access to), and uses it to keep my children from having any contact at all with me. The wicked witch is filthy rich, and loving every minute of it.

I don’t wish ill on anyone - that’s not who I am. However , my ex has 2 divorces behind her , lives at home with her parents looking after her , is single again , no money - and she’s 48 !!!! Those are just facts and that’s her life now .

I was adopted along with my brother by narcissists. My brother sided with the older golden child sister since they were around the same age. I was just thinking about how he gave me the silent treatment because my mother told him to do it to punish me. We lived in the same room and he refused to talk to me. Every holiday when my cousin came over, my brother would isolate me by befriending my cousin the entire time, while I had to play alone. My cousin is the same age as me(born 14 days after me in the same month and same year) and he should have made the perfect friend for me, but my brother befriended him to keep him away from me. My brother was 4 years older than my cousin. That's like a 11th grader wanting to be friends with a 7th grader(which doesn't normally happen). Now my brother isn't friends with my cousin, but if I had been given the chance to be friends with my cousin, we probably would have been lifelong friends. The last time I talked to my brother, he was trying to bully me into going to his birthday party when I told him I couldn't because I had to work that day and couldn't get the day off. He started repeating to me over and over on the phone 'You're going to be there, right?' and eventually I just said 'Yeah' and hung up on him since he wasn't listening to me. I'm no contact with my entire family.
