Most of this isn't as hard as it looks - the stride piano can be simplified by dropping the lowest note in doubled octaves, and the fingering is pretty reasonable in the right hand. Might need to start playing this a little slower than Hiromi though! Sheet music at georgecolliermusic.com :)

Ah yes! Hiromi shes such a scary good jazz pianist and super strict. Lmao one time I got to go to a private house master class with a Tony Grey, a bass player who record and toured with her and he told everyone that every morning he and the other bandmates would wake up with a hand written note that detailed every single mistake they got wrong the night before.

I had no idea she was strict like that, but it makes sense given her virtuosic playing. Usually to get that damn good you need to be strict on yourself, so it's understandable to expect the same level of dedication of your band mates. I've only gotten to see her once, when she returned to the Montreal jazz festival and played with Edmar Castaneda. I still can't believe they choose Place To Be as their second encore. I absolutely adore that song and had been hoping they'd play it. I was ready to be disappointed, but instead I got to hear something quite special.

@@Bobbias indeed! He also told me that when they were recording her album Hiromi always went with the first take. Sometimes they would record the song two or three times but she always chose the first take. That just shows how talented her other bandmates were. But yeah Tony was an incredible nice guy and skilled bass player. He was touring with Ian Ian during his galactic duo so after he the master class he let the audience member have a jam session before putting on a mini concert for us. Really nice guy!

Hiromi's album with Chick Corea would have been one of my all time Jazz favourites, wouldn't it be for the sound of a dishwasher in the background. This still annoys me so much to this day.

@@jakeperalta4670 They recorded a live album in a restaurant in Tokyo, I think, it is amazing. But you hear the clinking and rattling of cuttlery in the background, and it is so unbelievably annoying, at least to me. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jsd-npRqqLfKpKM.html

I was blessed to have seen her perform live twice, once with Stanley Clarke and again as her Trio Project with Simon Phillips and Anthony Jackson. Those shows i will never forget.
