I’m from Dublin & lived a lot of my life in the UK (school etc like you). It can be complicated when we’re ‘from’ two places with two sets of friends & sometimes family spread out internationally. It can feel like a fractured life experience at times but there’s also so many benefits too- mostly the people & experiences 🫶

So happy you had a safe and fun trip, and most importantly caught up with friends and loved ones! :) You've given me a new appreciation for living in this great city and the beauty, diversity, and history it offers. I can understand your anxiety around your safety while in the city as it's based on your personal bad experiences. I think London is on par with any big city in the west for personal safety - a solo female will always feel vulnerable, which is such a shame. You're so lucky to live in such a safe country! Looking forward to the next video!!

Hi Anna! I enjoyed your London vlogs tremendously! I have been to London to visit many times myself! Crime must have gone up because I never felt vulnerable in the UK! I was appalled and shocked how you were treated in that convenience store buying a bottle of protein drink when you were a student! Really… some people! Looking forward to your next vlogs and live chats! 👍

Good choice regarding where you want to live. Stay in Korea where you're comfortable and feel safe. London, new York, Los Angeles.....they're mostly the same. Except London I feel is heck of a lot cleaner and safer than LA or NYC.

I feel you when it comes to deciding where you wanna live in the future... I live abroad (I'm from Europe and live in another European country so not too far from home) and I'm trying to decide if I wanna move back to my home country or to keep living abroad for the next few years. Since it'd only be for a couple of years I'm tempted to stay abroad, but then again I'd like to settle down in my home country already. Decisions decisions🫠

I recall you saying, I have the travel itch or the need to get away. Hence London was your choice as you consider it your 2nd home. It was good to see you catching up with friends, some interesting insights into coffee shops and restaurants and again places to stay away from. At least now you have done the trip and have the realization that your move back to Korea was the right one for you, family, friends and comfort. Time to march on forward.

I remember back in 2016, I had to take my mom to the doctor. We left the house at 8pm, got there at 9pm. They didn't take her until 5am, and we didn't leave until 9am, and got home at 10am, and she still had to pay. I know UK Healthcare isn't the best, but at least they don't charge u a ridiculous amount of money.

Totally agree on the whole “personal color” thing at makeup stores. I had the color test done at Sephora quite a few times and the results are always a mixed bag. And because I’m a sucker for “professional” (aka makeup counter girl) opinion I always end up buying stuff that I don’t use - yes, I’m looking at you Bare Minerals and Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Ugh.😅 So, yes, you do you! P.S. keep up the great vlogs! 🙌🏽

I think most people in England especially, don't consider London to be a part of England, lol. I'm in Cambridge, and it's fairly multicultural here as it's a university city, but crime is very low. I mean every time you walk on a sidewalk you may get mowed down by a cyclist because people love their bikes here, but it's still nice. I was thinking about the Peak District recently. I've been to London a few times as a kid/teen, our school took us to see plays in London, we saw Of Mice and Men, and Blood Brothers. It felt weird in London, like the vibes were nice, but something was off, like being on edge in a strange and different way, lol. I'd love to visit Seoul, people talk so highly of it.

Ok stopped the video when you talked about getting your colors done. I am an autumn but the one thing they told me is that I should wear more gold since it would make me appear more friendly. They said silver would put people off, it was then I decided that I did not want to appear friendly that I wanted people to stop and consider if they wanted to approach me, then proceed with caution. I have worn silver ever since!

I can totally relate to you and understand where you are coming from when you said you felt so much safer and felt "majority" when you are in Korea as opposed to being in the U.K.!! For some reason, I think you will pick and choose Korea to be your final place/destination to live for the remainder of your life. I am like you having grown up in the U.S. as a Korean-American and even though I was happy there and felt the U.S. was an amazing place with all the diversity and culture, I just did not feel totally safe there as hate crimes against Asians and discrimination became rampant, especially during COVID-19. I am sure the U.K. is safer than the U.S. but still not as safe as Korea. I believe one's safety and security are the number one priority when it comes to picking a place to live. At least for me, that is. Korea is not a perfect country as there are a lot of scams, horrible traffic jams, and other societal problems but I am very satisfied living here knowing that my safety and security are not an issue. Not being treated like a "foreigner' in Korea is also great if you know what I mean. I don't care how long you have lived in the U.S or the U.K., but Koreans and other Asians will always be looked at as "foreigners" or "outsiders". from the Yanks and Brits. You don't know how annoying it was for me to be asked, "Where are you really from?" wherever I went when I was living in the U.S. even though I was born and raised in Chicago!! I must have explained to the Americans my background literally thousands of times whenever they asked me this question, "Where are you really from?"!! I am very lucky I can speak perfect Korean too!! Best wishes and I am sure you will be happy living in both Korea and the U.K. The U.K. looks amazing. I have to go there soon!! Bye, Anna~~ 영상 잘 봤어요!!

I'm white, from Australia and even though I'm a foreigner and a minority in Korea, I feel so much safer in Korea at any time of day or night than in Australia or any other country I've been to. I think Korea is a safe place generally compared to so many other countries, especially 'western' countries. Actually the more I travel, the more I feel sorry to say 'our' (western/white) people are pretty badly behaved, it's kind of embarassing really.

G'day mate^^ I am delighted to write to an Aussie who lives in Korea. It's really nice to meet you!! I hope you are enjoying your stay in our country. I have been to your beautiful/amazing country back in 2002 for my honeymoon. I know it was a long long time ago but I still remember vividly how beautiful your country was and how much my wife and I enjoyed it. I remember going to all those great places in Sydney like Darling Harbor, Taronga Zoo, Bondi Beach, Opera House, Sydney Tower Eye, and much more. Then, we drove to Brisbane to go to The Gold Coast. It took eight hours to get there by car but we absolutely loved it. It was totally worth it. The people in Australia were very hospitable and friendly and the food was just out of this world. All in all, we spent about ten days there. I really enjoyed your country. I have nothing bad to say about your people and your country. I would love to visit amazing Australia soon. On a little serious note, I am old enough to know this by now, and with my educational background being in humanities, and after meeting many many people in this world throughout my life journey, I really believe that vast vast majority of people in this world are "decent" and "kind-hearted" as we all want to live in peace and harmony. I think we all have a lot more in common than you think. We are all the same human beings as we all want the best for our future and opportunities. However, there will always be going to be people in this world who are not so decent and treat people badly for whatever reason they may have. It is very unfortunate. It's mostly because they are very insecure with themselves and not being happy. If someone is happy with themselves, he or she would never treat people that way especially committing hate crimes and racism. There are racism and hate crimes everywhere in this world including in Korea and I think education and knowledge are the keys to curing this ignorance and tragedy. Constant teaching and emphasizing that hate crimes based on racism have no place in this world and it is an abhorrent and despicable act no matter what. Anyway, I hope you are enjoying your stay in Korea and if you don't mind, can I ask what brought you here in Korea in the first place. I am a retired Korean-American teacher and currently live in Seoul. Bye~ @@penelopepitstock

We are incredibly lucky to have UK jobs that allow us to work 1/2 months a year in Korea, so that is what we have been doing. My Korean isn't good enough to work in a corporate environment unfortunately, but you never know! Also the time off/vacation days here are really good :D Wish we had the Korean medical system though.

I think you may have dismissed moving back to London a tad prematurely. For one, London is really spread out: it covers over 600 sq miles -- that's about twice the size of all of New York and it would take up about half of the state of Rhode Island. I've been to London a number of times and things are a bit less hectic and less prone to theft as you get further away from the central area. You can actually move to some sleepy 'burb just outside of London like Brentwood and be still just an hour away from Covent Garden by train. Also it's a bit easier to take trips to places like New York, Toronto, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Norway, and such if you're based in London. Having family nearby for support and comfort is nice, but....that's kind of staying close to the nest you were raised in rather than flying off and having adventures, discoveries, and new experiences that might make family visits more special and more memorable. Again, I think....
@Ravix0fFourHorn
@Ravix0fFourHorn 6 ай бұрын
Theres nothing wrong with staying close to the nest, this American or i should say Anglosphere way of thinking that is like "once you are 18 you are on your own and often even kicked out" is why your societies are in a state of collapse and eternal termoil these days. Not gonna dwell on this further than this, its a vlog channel and i hate i have to state these things here but it has to be said sometimes.

Glad you had a good time, and yes its nice to visit. PS and FYI the flag is an Israeli flag 🇮🇱 not Iranian flag 🇮🇷. It can be an easy mistake to make but in political times it is a big mistake, don't want people to be nasty. 😞😉

It’s like the parts of London you’re showing is a different world to most ordinary Londoners. The real places, beautiful people and excitements are missing. Rich people are certainly boring.

I dont know why but i find it so weird to see a clearly Korean person say "watermellon" in like the most British accent possible. Its almost as weird as seeing Mongolians speak Russian. Cool video though :)

Here's your problem.... I agree with everything you said about London (I'm off to live in North Yorkshire where it's safe and beautiful shortly, as I'm done being a minority being white British with crime anxiety too!) but South Korea is going to collapse inside 25 years, but the effects will be just 10 years away. The same is already the case in Japan, China's finished (but who wants to be there anyway of course), Taiwan, Singapore is too small and limited being a city state, so where else is there that offers opportunity AND safety? The answer will be nowhere in cities anywhere in the world shortly. This is depressing but we are where we are. The only places with growing markets will be eastern US, the UK, France, Benelux countries, Scandinavia. Outside those places, it is decline and to an extreme level by mid-century. This opens up opportunities in shortage industries of course, but the other consequences cancel this out. None of the above has hit too much in the mainstream yet, but the articles and concern has just started making copy and filling a few pages in different publications. The decision is not going to be an easy one. I hate large cities now, so I'm done, and going to live happy and in safety with everything cosy I love around me and a great quality of life with my Far East consultancy and property business ticking over, but this is not an easy decision for others and I take all your points on board. Do take note of the above. It happens slowly, then the decline happens all at once. As stated, see Japan (best case scenario and it isn't going great) and then China for the worst case right now. South Korea is going to fall off a cliff and it is frightening the consequences of it, as now we have real world examples, and they're just at the beginning of this crisis.

Asia will over take the west in a couple years trust me on that. Their drive and hardworking culture and infrastructure and new technologies. The uk is finished ppl are lazy there and the laws are too weak so will become more dangerously. I see how rapidly they are developing and growing if u actually live there unlike the uk which is relying off the old money they have left other countries have strong export services unlike the uk. Leaving the uk is one of the best things I have ever did so draining, grey and miserable
