A chatty update about what prompted my unexpected disappearance from the internet for the last month or two, and what the plan is going forward for the channel. Very much trying to embrace letting change be OK. Even when its hard. Thanks for sticking around while I once again pivot friends. If you have any ideas of what you'd like to see going forward, I'd love to hear them!

You have so much love & support Liz. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of the Friday live crew. ❤ taking a break and refocusing- pivoting and being present with your needs is so incredibly important. As long as you are being in alignment with your heart- your values & what feeds you it’s all good,

Hey Liz! I started watching your nursing school content when I was in school. One of my favorite things about KZfaq is growing WITH KZfaqrs over time. I have appreciated having someone to grow with, not only as a nurse but fellow human as well! I don't have a garden or kids but still enjoy the content about random stuff in your life😆 I so appreciate your honesty and no BS way of approaching difficult subjects. The internet needs more people like you😊

Liz, remember that self-care is not selfish. Of course those of us who love you want to see more of you on KZfaq, but that's just one part of your life--and only if you choose for it to be. The next chapter of your channel can be about self-care, your journey through therapy (if you want to share a part of it), or anything you want it to be. I'll certainly miss Friday panel discussions. Maybe I'll pick them up on my channel, at least for a while. Take care of yourself and your family--that comes first!

Girl, you go! We all go through seasons, we all change. You are who you were 5-6 years ago! I quit FNP school and transitioned to Nursing Education and wouldn't look back! Goal is to work with NLN/ANA and figure out how we can keep the profession alive for another 100+ years because it is slowly dying and people don't want to admit it. So, what can we do to keep it going? That's me anyways. You'll get there...and if you don't, you'll get near to where you're meant to be! Sending good juju!

I'm an ER nurse, I've watched your videos since pre-reqs for nursing school. I got hit by a car 8 months ago and was out of work for 6 months for a broken elbow. I needed surgery, plates/nails, months of physical therapy, and I had a very. hard. time. The lady who hit me ran stop signs, it was the middle of a clear day, I'd been waiting at the intersection for a good time to go -- I did nothing wrong, and I still got hit by the car. I live now in a big city with lots of people and cars, and it was almost impossible to go outside for months. I then saw my neighbor get hit by a car outside our apartment a few months later. I almost had a total mental breakdown. I was so critical of myself "why can't I handle this?" "I'm being dramatic" "chill out" "other people could deal with this", and I started too seeing a therapist. It's been making a big difference, but it's a process and takes time. I have to really work to be kind to myself. Take the time you need in the way you need it. ♥

Hey Liz I believe you need to take the time. I completely understand because life events happened and can be very overwhelming along with social media drama. As you know I have been missing for the pass 2 +years, still trying to figure things out. Some will love you some won’t. I’m glad you have always been consistent with the message that no one is begging those to click the button and view content they are not happy with. People don’t understand how much time it takes with family to film edit and bring new content to viewers. I say all of this to say, I’ve loved since when you were studying for your NP boards and will to the end. Keep taking care of you.

Thanks for the update! Glad to know you're ok 😊 and honestly the feeling of "everything's on fire, everything's broken, what do I do?!!?" is very relatable. I'm a nurse in Switzerland btw so very different context but by no means perfect either. Oh and my eldest is the same age as your youngest so, I understand that that's a whole lot of chaos in and of itself! Take all the time you need, your viewers don't need an algorithm to know you're there

Liz, thank you for the candid and frank video about your current situation. My channel is nowhere as big as your’s (yet!), but I feel the burnout you described. For creators like us who are doing this solo, it is a lot of work to just put out a good minute video, and you never feel like it is the best you can do. Going forward, I'd like to see you continue patient advocacy with Adrienne and friends against The System for those who must use it.. Meanwhile, I believe I have to be my own doctor because The System is so F----D, it makes most sickness worse instead of better. Hi Liz! I have been watching your KZfaq channel for quite sometime. I appreciated hearing about your nursing experience and different perspectives, challenges and the state of our health care system which is all true. Having been a nurse for 30+ years in different settings…hospitals, schools, nursing home, home health, clinic…I did experience changes and most recently for the worst in the past 3 years. I appreciate your genuine personality and concern and for advocating for the nurses and making us aware of our legal rights and giving us guidance and tools to safeguard our license. Ex. dangerous nurse -patient ratios. Don’t blame yourself or be so critical for who you are…or whose feathers you ruffled. You are doing the right thing by taking a break by prioritizing yourself, your children and family. Hold on to your faith. Read your Bible and God inspired scriptures; in particular the book of Psalm and Proverbs that will feed your spirit, mind and receive His Shalom. The most important is your relationship with God receiving his peace and guidance, then your relationship with your spouse and your children. When the parents are strong and unified as one the children thrive and feel safe and secure. I will pray for your peace, sound mind and good health for you and your children. May God strengthen everyone’s immunity by the power of Jesus’ name. Amen. ❤🙏

Just found you, love love love the honesty. I feel a massive affinity with you. I've just finished a bachelor in psychology and am in crisis mode. I'm 27 and am considering doing nursing, it's been in the back of my mind for years. Trying to get a good insight since I don't wanna make the wrong pivot again (I've pivoted a billion times). I am neurodivergent too, and seeing that (despite changing your mind) you have managed as a nurse, makes me feel better and hopeful. That probably sounds weird considering where you are at right now, but it's super duper natural for people to have different phases in life, and often those transition times are difficult, but it's completely normal. I consider your nursing phase a success, now there's just another one to be had. Life takes turns. The turn itself can suck. But the new road will be amazing and you'll come out the other end just fine. Big hug and thanks for your awesome & honest content. I'm wondering, if you see this, whether you still recommend nursing now that you've come out the other end?

I was in the same boat, wanted to do primary care FNP but quickly got burnt out when seeing the healthcare disparities in front of me and being completely helpless. I also want to be able to bring positive tips to patients/health care providers but it’s hard when it’s working against us. But!! You being real about it all made me feel like it’s not a me issue! I found a place in derm and, while our healthcare system still sucks, I am enjoying working in healthcare again. Wishing you all the luck and patience with yourself!! You deserve to take a break! I'm glad you're considering a new approach and not abandoning KZfaq completely. I've always appreciated your common sense and ability to get to the heart of a matter. I would love to hear your perspective on mental health care and what families can do when a loved one is struggling. I know this is an overwhelming subject with no simple solutions at all. Sometimes just hearing from others going through similar things is helpful.

I have to admit it - I do love your family videos, however, I do know that the internet world can be weird - and not wanting to expose your family to that weirdness would be completely understandable. As for the direction of the channel…maybe you could come up with three or four different topics (for lack of a better word)…and cover one each week - if that wouldn’t be too intense. For instance: one week could be current events in healthcare, another week could be lighter, like a family video (just doing what you love) - if you’re willing, maybe the third week’s video could be healthcare related again, but zeroing in on a specific topic, less generalized than week one (current events), and then week four could be lighter again - maybe…or not, lol…perhaps, a mental health discussion. Just an idea! Do what you have to do though - take time, grow things…be well.

Liz you’re a human and deserve just as much compassion as everyone else. We all go through things and I’m so happy you’re taking the time away you need and pivoting where you need to pivot. I’m a nurse too and I’ve really found mindfulness and embodiment practices a helpful way to stave off a lot of negativity that naturally comes with going into work every day, not seeing my family on holidays, working with critically I’ll patients, being part of a healthcare system that’s broken. My mindfulness practice has helped me develop self compassion sometimes where I used to have none at all. It’s changed me as a person and I got it because I was able to have the space to find it so find what works for you and do it because the goodness of you as a person doesn’t reside in what you produce or do for others. ❤️

Nurse Liz, don't ever stop being your lovely self! The world of content creation has changed so much in general. Waaay too many people trying to push the envelope and being edgy. Your hearts in the right place. Wishing you luck with the next KZfaq era

Hi Liz, Love your transparency and I hope that you can find that balance you’re looking for. For content ideas that are on the bright side and maybe not so stressful, how about videos on your hobbies? Plants, crafts, baking, etc. I remember you used to post these (and include some funny rambling) and you seemed to have a lot of fun doing it. Just a thought! 😊

I know this is old but I so feel you. BIG hug! ❤ I hope you're doing better now, but if not, I get it. Work, kids, marriage, moving, being a woman, home maintenance, and THE WORLD! It's all a LOT.

Liz...we all love you and support you. I'm here for whatever direction you take, ready to cheer you on! I think every stage we go through is important and necessary for who we eventually become. Going through the dark, world-is-burning phase is necessary and shows your level of caring - you/we wouldn't get to that level if we didn't care about this profession/healthcare/people. That perspective is important if solutions are ever going to come to fruition - knowing and commiserating with the frustration and despair of both frontline workers and patients alike is the only way to find viable solutions. So, here's to you 🥂 for guiding us through the dark part and I can't wait to see what you have in store next. ❤

Don't be Shorry! I'm here for snark, but I've always loved the videos where you offered help and I feel like you haven't really gotten away from that (thinking specifically to some of the legislation vids you've been talking about).... but I'm not always up to date so that may be why lol. Maybe for every Healthcare related video, you do a video about your witch garden :D Done at your pace, of course! And maybe leave the live streams for special events or subscribers

Nurse Liz I am a new subscriber to your KZfaq channel. I am also a disabled gardener, gardening differently due to career-ending worker's compensation permanent injuries (s). Shalom!

Liz think of this way. If a TV show started in 2017 with 607 episodes with writers and production crew it would be a hit. You produced this yourself. You have done more than most. You deserve to take time for yourself and family. If you are interested in sharing gardening, crafts or other activities that would be good. As an older boomer nurse I like to see the beauty in the world when I had to stay overtime because some Dr. wrote a page of orders at 2300 h which took 3 nurses to decipher and process. Take care and thank you.

Liz! I'm still obsessed with your cloth diapering playlist so whatever you come up with next... I'm here for the ride! Also, I used to live in your neck of the woods, if you haven't checked out Longwood Gardens, it may just be the oasis you are looking for when you need to decompress

Girl you are still being hard on yourself!! My girl, create what YOU want to on YOUR channel!! I made the same decision. 6 months at a very toxic clinic and decided corporate slavery was NOT for me. I have been doing travel nursing and rolling through the punches with low mood and lack of energy/motivation. Ultimately these temporary 36 hr weeks are tolerable as I step into my future goals with new energy. This actually makes me happy that I am NOT alone!!! love ya!! Happy to see any content you put out. IT is ALL relevant to me. Hope to see more. Here is to Lucy's dark era too hahaha. Lets hashtag it ha!
