First time I went to Half Moon Bay I waited in line at Barbara’s Fish Trap for quite some time, it was worth it though! The inside is very cozy and decorated nicely, and you get a good view of the beach depending on your chairs! I loved the clam chowder and cheesy garlic bread. For the quality and taste it was extremely cheap too, I was surprised!

Barbara's Fishtrap is phenomenal. It's a total hole in the wall. But the quality is 2nd to none....fried Calamari , crab salad sandwich , corn fritters , their clam chowder is probably the best soup I've ever eaten , fish n chips , their Tarter sauce is delicious.

It’s been YEARS since I’ve been out to Half Moon Bay. We will need to take a RV trip out there and get some of this scrumptious food because I’m HUNGY now!!

Any idea what the water temp at half-moon bay is this time of year? Loved the sunset! You guys do NorCal proud! :)

Thanks Greg! Water temp in HMB, cold lol! The warmest it will ever be would be in Fall, but nothing like the waters in SoCal.

Great video! Everything looked mouthwatering! I agree, nothing worse then being in a beautiful location by the sea and eating frozen seafood! That was the problem with those words Patty, you were sober!! 😂 It always flows better after a few! What was on the creme brulee? Apple and a mint leaf? Thanks for sharing.

I found out from a chef friend of mine, there are so many regulations with food distribution I was unaware of. It is illegal just to buy fish off of someones boat. It's not like we're in the Philippines or Taiwan, where fish come off a boat and right to market. Shrimp may come off a boat, and packaged, and shipped to China where they clean them, re-package the shrimp, and send them back to the U.S. I should have done a bit more research maybe, and then understand that what Old Princeton Landing is doing, may be illegal. Anyhoo, yes, that was a mint leaf on that brulee. Thanks Jim!

I live here. I agree about Barbara's and Sam's. I'd much rather go to the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company.

I recently was made aware that Mr. Overfelt is opening a gentlemen's grooming salon. He knows all about that, too! Barbara's Fish Trap has a line most weekends, because the locals flock to it. I, and many others, have patronized this family longer than certain un-named others have been alive. Ketch Jo Ann, Silver Star, rate at the bottom. Not that bad, but not that good either. Barbara's rates above the brewery, and Sam's is making it on lobster variants.There are NO top flight restaurants in HMB area, including the RITZ.

So it sounds as though you're not a fan of Brian's? Barbara's is always crowded because "locals" are always frequenting it, or did you mean tourists? I'll trust your judgment on these places as you're a local and we're not. I'm curious as to what family you've supported all these years. We're in to supporting local businesses. Not so sure what restaurants in the area are actually locally owned. Please let us know. Thanks for watching.

The only eating places that are NOT locally owned are the fast food {2} and peet's and starbucks. That would leave twenty plus to choose from..

Agreed! In ONE of my HMB videos, I suggest that folks park in the big parking lot behind the Oceano and the shopping center! It's a short walk. Thanks for watching!

I used to go to Sam's chowder house when it was known as The Anchorage. I'm surprised no one talks about Cameron's Pub one of my favorite places to go.

Hey! I had never heard of Cameron's Pub!? I looked it up, and we drive by it anytime we head from HMB to Pescadero. Thanks for the recommendation and we will definitely check it out next time we're in HMB! 🥤

Sam DOES have good chowder! Sorry I didn't convey that. My point was, Sam's is often so very busy, while better restaurants, IMO, are not as busy. You HAVE to try Sam's at least once! TY
