I generally have a protein shake after working out and then for my last meal or the day which is about 2-2.5 hours before bed. I’m going with Casein protein before bed and whey after my workouts

I struggled with getting pure casein to dissolve, it would froth, wouldn't dissolve, and was just generally awful lol. but the Overnight Recovery blend from MyProtein has been much easier to manage so if you are looking for casein I would recommend that instead.

Besides the calcium and protein what other vitamins and minerals is casein protein rich in? Does it have the same vitamins and minerals as cheese? Please provide links if you have them.

whey is best after workout, as it's faster absorbing. Casein at night as it's slower absorbing and therefore feeds muscles during night sleep fasting. Or blind for anytime during day, to have fast and slow absorbing to fight hunger and cravings if you are dieting.

Collagen protein is the most abundant protein in living beings. Hydrolyzed collagen supplement are easier to digest but it lacks one amino acid named tryptophan which makes it an incomplete protein.

Some MP *Whey Isolate* protein powders contain *Soy Lecithin* but others *Sunflower Lecithin* I'd prefer a soy free option as I've read soy can mimic the effects of estrogen. What are the differences and is that true about *Soy Lecithin* when used as an emulsifier? Thanks.

Hey, I purchased casein and whey Isolate from My Protein and it just arrived yesterday I'm really excited How about my strategy to use them both every day? I also purchased their protein snacks for hard days and they taste amazing!! Really fine texture and easy to chew unlike other brands I tried (I tried strawberry, matcha and birthday cake)

You’ve probably already sorted this out but usually I would use casein before bed to assist in overnight recovery whereas whey I would use as a snack/post/pre workout due to its quick digestion.

I use both, depends on how fast I want absorption. Casein I find best used at early AM or night as it fills me up more.

in saying that with casein do you find your less hungry at night im a big whey isolate user but find i still get hungry at peak hours also a night owl so i know that contributes but if im understanding then bcs the casein is slow acting i should hypothetically be less hungry when im awake at night ?

yes, I think casein is "heaver" in a sense and therefor keeps me feeling full longer. But it's all still just broken down protein, so maybe a whole food source of protein that takes more effort to digest by body would work for you to keep from waking up hungry?

Wouldnt you get the same affect if you just ate a good higher protein meal a few hours before bed? Cause its going to take hours for that meal to digest.

I bought casein to make myself morning fruit juices (berries & strawberry) with water. I have a shaker (with the wire ball mixer) and it has proven to be the best manual option. You could also make the blender do the work for you but I feel it then expands a considerable amount so I stick to just water fruit smoothies. I pour the smoothy in a shaker, then put the casein scoop inside, close and sake for a bit. This has helped me "skip" breakfast sandwiches so I drink this and coffee. I don't particularly feel full but it does take the hunger pains away, until i get myself a fruit snack before lunch. I also drink it before late afternoon workouts as my schedule does not allow for a proper meal hours before evening sessions, so this helps me get thru the workout to then enjoy dinner afterwards. (I also don't like getting out of the gym so late as it can impact ability to fall asleep) May switch to whey on my next tub of protein powder and see how that goes. Seems like all of these powders have a considerable amount of sugar so I am also cutting down on sugar intake to balance out the overall daily consumption.

Did you even watch the video? Whole milk is full of fats and sugars that are great sources of energy, but overall too calorie-dense to be a good protein source. If your goal is to cut and maintain muscle mass, whole milk is a bad source of energy in general.
