I was dying when Brianna was making the zero-proof old-fashioned. Not because of the club soda, surprisingly enough, but because she reads the instructions for 2 teaspoons of orange bitters and - since she had no teaspoon available - proceeded to pour like a 1/4 cup of bitters. No idea why I found that so funny but my goodness, I could not breathe for a solid minute 🤣

I was a heavy whiskey drinker and I've missed that taste much. I had no idea there was a non alcoholic whiskey. Gotta say, yall earned my subscription today.

The old fashioned attempt was criminal from someone working at a whiskey distillery. 2 bitters teaspoons was turned into about 600 dashes. Followed up by crushed ice and forgetting to break up the sugar.

Probably still better than the one I had made for me at the casino the other night. They forgot the bitters (twice), half-assed muddling the sugar, and half-assed muddling the sugar with an orange slice and a cherry in the glass already. Basically just threw sugar in it, slapped an orange and a cherry in there, smashed them into the sugar, and poured some whiskey on top. Fuck it was bad. If I wasn't sipping orange pulp and mashed cherry, it was whole granules of sugar.

@@Will-lx9ll With bourbon, it's basically a Kentucky Mule, only with lemon juice instead of lime juice and minus the crushed ice and copper mug. Kentucky Mules are great summer drinks.

that first drink with the whiskey + lemon + Gingerbeer, if you replace the lemon with lime, and garnish with mint - it's an Irish mule (providing you're using an irish whiskey.) and is already an existing cocktail - and well less lemon/lime

I've made the first drink before, the ginger beer and lemon completely takes over the whiskey taste, it's AWESOME if you're mixing it with Canadian Club, or just some random plastic bottle whisky, but don't waste good scotch or bourbon on it

Unless you're making a super specific cocktail NEVER put expensive whiskey in there. And if you do just put a few ml up top or even as a spray on top. Laphroaig or Ardbeg works for that for example.

I love the fact that I start watching this video and I am currently drinking the first "cocktail" lol. It's a "Kentucky Mule" and should really be done with a dash of lime juice. Same way you would make a "Moscow Mule" or a (don't sue me Goslings) "Dark and Stormy" with rum.

Kentucky Mule is a legit drink, my go-to at parties when I want a drink physically larger than a neat whiskey or when all there is is whiskey I’m not fond of. Also excellent with Mezcal, but no matter the booze, lemon is all wrong IMO

That first one looks nice. I'm quite a fan of ginger beer. Although, I tend to use bottom-shelf whiskey to make a mule. Pretty much any whiskey you'd mix with ginger beer is gonna taste relatively similar, because ginger beer just overpowers everything, except for maybe an Islay scotch.
