CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Billy (Woody Harrelson) beats Sidney (Wesley Snipes) in a basketball shooting competition.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Ron Shelton (Bull Durham) wrote and directed the basketball-oriented seriocomedy White Men Can't Jump. Woody Harrelson plays Billy Hoyle, a white con artist who hustles basketball games with black players, lulling his victims into the misguided notion that white men can't match up with black hoopsters. One of his victims, African-American Sidney Deane (Wesley Snipes), becomes Hoyle's "agent," arranging his various inner city scams. Deane doesn't feel as though he's selling out his own people; he goes along with Hoyle to provide a better life for his wife, Rhonda (Tyra Ferrell), and son. The film breezes through several zany sequences, including one liberal-baiting satirical moment set at a black/white "solidarity" basketball game arranged by an ambitious politician. Crooked gamblers intrude upon the last scenes of the film, but Hoyle is rescued by his girlfriend, Gloria (Rosie Perez), a Jeopardy freak who realizes a lifelong dream by winning big on the Alex Trebek-hosted game show.

+Ernst von Salomon I'm not German so I'm not going to say what Germany needs. I will say I prefer the work of Ernst Juenger to von Salomon. Storm of Steel(In Stahlgewittern) is one of the finest First World War books, in my opinion only Frederic Manning's The Middle Parts of Fortune is better. Eumeswil is a masterpiece along with The Glass Bees. Juenger's essays between the wars are interesting and thought provoking. I haven't read On the Marble Cliffs yet but I have heard good things about it. Juenger lost most of his ultranationalist jingoism after the Second World War and concentrated on more philosophical works.

I love this film so much. Woody & Wesley got so much onscreen chemistry. I always kinda feel bad for Billy Ho in the end when Gloria leaves him - he owed Sidney big time, but was a man about it by not telling her he was the reason she got onto Jeopardy, and ultimately he lost his love but cemented a lifelong friendship. Women never understand the camaraderie between guys unfortunately.
