Don't neglect the other "ink". White can play a major role for layers and textures. There are a million and one ways of using it. Here is the one. YOU come up with the other million. Cool? Cool. :]]
Story time in the beginning, rough demo for the end. There may also be some fancy camera work in the middle. One shot. Unscripted. Unedited. AND I still have no idea where to look while on camera.
Cheap Monkey Production, everyone. Bless you for watching. (:{
p.s.
Sounded like "excuse you", but I said "excuse me". =|

Great demo! The white we learned about in illustration 30 years ago was the Dr Martin's Bleed Proof White. A lot of calligraphers use it, too, for their white-on-dark brush or dip pen work as it's super opaque. There weren't as many options back then, though, like all of the great acrylic (or oil based) white markers of today.

There is also a whole series of Rapidograph colored inks I've yet to try out. And they make a white, the whole series is designed for tech pens.

@@sandrainkmonkeyhope The bleed proof aspect of the Dr Martin (water color) is that even with something like that splatter painting technique, even a micro splatter is going to be super opaque (maybe 95% or more). I find that most of the correctional fluids or acrylics to be 80% or less unless they're really layered on. It's really chalky paint and dries fast which is another reason those calligraphers like it.

Again with the toothbrushes 😋 but seriously that effect on both black and white on fire effects so go a long way! If anything, white on black art to create light is very interesting and fun! Something like Batman should take advantage of that concept!

Happy to feed the ego, its well earned. Thanks for another super tip. I've been trying to use the FW acrylic and it's so thin I do the same paint strokes 3 4 times. Now I know, 50% pro white in there. Amazing :)

Hello Sandra, I have been experimenting with the Gelly Roll white pens. They have been great on inks so far, I recommend using it for small highlights and accents. So far I have not had any clogging issues like the Pentel pen you have. Also, the Molotow 1.5 mm One4All Signal White Acrylic pen has been good so far. But the paint will dry on the tip after use and needs to be cleaned off.

I've been using Windsor & Newton White Ink with brush and toothbrush and Pentel Correction pens with a credit card or Uni Posca Pens & Brushes for various things, but I wanted to buy The Deleter White 2 to complete my arsenal, cause the correction pens have the coverage, but the ink of them is way too thick and gives a weird texture to work over for bigger areas and the Posca pens kinda bleed away at the ink if you overdo it. The Windsor Newton just isnt permanent enough and works better for splatter or rain with a nib. And even tho the Deleter has been completely sold out in my country and I cant get a hold on it without expensive delivery I am not giving up, but its slowly driving me crazy haha. I found a technique that really works well to make a watersplatter with the Uni Posca Brush. You just load it with ink and then bump it up and down between two fingers. I kinda used it directional too and I found it to work even better than just using a brush with ink, because most brushes arent designed to splatter such a fine mist. Its somewhere between a toothbrush and a brush really. It can really mess your workstation or glasses up tho, but luckily thats easily washed off. :P
