Just found your channel. Really interesting project. I will continue to watch as your make more videos. I'm not a cigar smoker but I really like your idea of blind reviews. I assume you'll 'reveal' at the end and see if expectation matched your impressions? I also really like the idea of combining hobbies, tastes and interests across tea, cigars and pipe tobacco. I'm new to pipe smoking but an avid coffee/tea drinker. I also like whiskey, which I think could fit in nicely. It's nice to find a channel combing different interests. Keep up the good work!

I am in a process of getting know 'real' tea. It seems very difficult to get a clear overview over the categories, I am amazed over the sheer complexity of oolong or pu er. Could you recommand some literature?

You just kind of have to pick it up here and there and over time you build a knowledge base. I used to pick up books but they're all the same, super high level. If you have specific questions let me know and I'll make a video.

@@TeanTobaccoChannel I've started to drink different types of tea and oolong tea is just "my" tea for the moment. I was wondering if there is a "systematic" to it in order to compare different oolongs. But it is very difficult, at least for me, to find some "ground", to make those categories up in the first place. Could you recommand a starting point or some categories of different oolongs? That would be helpful.

Yeah, there are a lot of different types out there and lots of different grades of the same type. The highest level break down would be by growing area so you have Anxi, Wuyi, Phoenix Mountains, and Taiwan. So I'd try some from each of those regions. For specifics from Anxi try Tie Guan Yin and Ben Shan in both a light/no roast and a medium/dark roast, from Wuyi get some Da Hong Pao, and whatever else sounds interesting to you, same for the last two regions (Phoenix Mountains and Taiwan) just try a couple from each. That'll give you pretty to range of oolongs. Really I'd sign up for one of Yunnan Sourcing's monthly Tea Club Boxes. Or you can just one off buy them whenever.
