Martian Manhunter is a great character. For me he has same level of respect as Superman and Captain America.

J'onn is so under utilized. He's easily one of the most powerful characters in DC yet he is either sidlined, forgotten about or just taken out when someone pulls out a match, its a little disheartening because he is such an interesting character with so many facets to him.

His race used to be a bunch of contstantly on fire star conquerors that was so much of a threat, that The Guardians (from GL) decided to make them afraid of fire and seperate them into two races so they may spend more time against each other than against others.

Martian Manhunter is like Piccolo.

I always preferred Martian Manhunter to Superman. Even though they fit the same role and have similar backstories (last of an alien race that has made Earth their new home), their personalities diverge so greatly. Clark Kent does not remember the death of his people, and so he's insulated to a degree from that tragedy, whereas J'onn J'onzz faced the full brunt of the Martian genocide as an adult, and yet he still is ultimately a very compassionate hero. Despite seeming more "alien" in his appearance, he feels like a character with more heart and humanity than Superman.

J'onn is by far one of the most underrated, underused, and misunderstood. He is a character that suffered very much a typical DC back story of losing EVERYONE he loved and cared about....all because his brother was jealous. Lived on earth for decades before letting himself be known. Had many loves in his life. Basically the soul of the Justice League. Overcame his FEAR of fire and nearly burned a whole city to the ground. Though he did overpower and fuse Superman to the JL Conference Table in the Watch Tower before doing that. Though he was beaten by...Plastic Man. Who is equally the most misunderstood and underrated hero...that man is terrifying. J'onn gets little love. He has died almost as many times as Bruce Wayne's Parents. All because he is THAT powerful. DC has to kill him off before he overshadows Superman. That is it. They are protecting Superman. Much like how they downplay Captain Marvel...I mean Shazam. The two Super Beings that could take on Superman and likely win. Another being Aquaman but really Aquaman may have a chance if he got Superman in the water. Yet he could still hold his own. (Another underrated and often joked about character)

Good timing, I just watched ComicsExplained's "Omega Level: Martian Manhunter" today. It's interesting to see what each comics communicator chooses to highlight, shapeshifting here more than there for example. The Martian Manhunter is also my favorite DC hero, sadly he is very underappreciated.

I’ve been a Martian Manhunter fan since first seeing him in justice league TAS as a kid, and I’ve loved him ever since. Such a great character and way too underrated, I was so happy to see him in the Snyder cut. Hopefully he returns to the big screen and can become even more popular!

The Martian Manhunter is a TRUE POWERHOUSE! With all those powers he’s DC’s Martian “Green Surfer” lol The fact that Amanda Waller has J’onn as the one responsible with taking down Superman if he goes rogue/mind controlled says it all. IMO he’s THE MOST underrated/undersold DC Comics superhero (def JLA superhero) bar-none!

If he ever turned evil the justice league might be in danger unless they use fire on him Martian manhunt might be the strongest Martian cause he's the only one that survived his planet's destruction but not all comics have him as the last survivor or animated series like young justice but he might be able beat superman if superman doesn't use heat vision on him cause he has so many abilities

Idk if its like this for every incarnation of this character, but for one version his weakness was all mental because fire would make his species stronger and mad with rage. The higher deities put this mental blockage on his race so they wouldn't cause mass destruction

I remember meeting this awesome, incredible character in Justice League the animated series from the Timmverse.

This guy has a story on him. They should do more with the character.

I go by the original concept and the Ostrander book. That's good for me. There were a few other stories along the way, but DC doesn't seem to have a good grasp on what to do with him. The pale martians, Saturnians, Miss Martian, the idea he is probably RJ Brande in the Legion.. the curse of H'Ronmeer, and so many other things... he's a great character.

Yes Martian Manhunter is a mega beast, I have always liked this character I even enjoy the live action adaption of him on the show Supergirl and on other things (no spoilers for those who have not seen it yet). On the animated show Justice League Unlimited I loved the storyline they came up with when it was time for the Martian Manhunter to connect with his new home; Earth. The storyline was rich and deep; the same could be said with the Supergirl storyline for MM, I refer to a remark that he said during one of the episodes of how he really understands that life on Earth is not easy for everyone, "I've live on Earth for many years as a Black man, I know how hard it is". Always always my brother New Sage fantastic narration, video and content, I great enjoyed it thank you.
