Yeah! usually in mainstream media when gay people are portrayed, it is when they're young and discovering /accepting they're gay and not just being gay and doing married couple stuff. That's why Jessica and Claudia feel so refreshing and nice. It really gives you a sense of hope that maybe this could be your future...

@@jessicaoutofthecloset there is much joy to be had in spreadsheets! Whenever I make a task-list type one, I always program one of the upper left cells with Wingdings according to how much of the list is complete. 0% - deadface 1-20% - frowny face 20-40% - thumbs down 40-60% - question mark 60-80% - thumbs up 80-99% - happy face 100% - exclamation mark Because it’s not a granular progress bar, you never know when exactly you’ll hit one of the middle milestones. It invokes the same brain mechanisms as video games and is ridiculously motivating. Seeing the question mark tick over to the thumbs up is my favorite - it means I’m officially more than half done!

@@mariak143 in Italy as well children are named after grandparents, not as much anymore but it’s still a thing, BUT we also have the name of Saints. Each day is the day of a certain Saint, and usually people say “happy ~insert name of the saint~” to the person that has the same name. For example my name is Valentina, which means that the 14th of February my relatives call me to say “Happy San Valentine” to me 😂 Even friends if they remember/care (it’s not important for everyone). Sometimes I even get gifts. It’s called “onomastico”, people can even say “happy onomastico” instead of saying the name of the saint. And people also put white dresses on babies when they get baptized.

Yep, also holiday season, means drinking and gift giving, which also often leads to "cuddling". Now that i think about it, someone should do a fourier analysis or something to see if there's a 9 month periodicity to birthdates, since birthdays are also often an occasion for lots of cuddles

There's also a funny story about one of my local hospitals once got overrun with a sudden huge amount of births over a few days, and after it happened they traced it back to a powercut in the evening that caused couples to 'cuddle' as they didn't have television or other electronic devices

For all the pregnant people in the comments reading this: It is actually not clear what the safe amount of alcohol in a pregnancy is. A little bit is probably fine, but we do not yet know how much exactly is fine. So it's best to avoid alcoholic drinks all together during pregnancy. Have a great pregnancy and safe delivery :)
@AnanasAbanaan
@AnanasAbanaan 3 жыл бұрын
Adding to that: sleep research of unborn babies indicates that the mother drinking alcohol severely impacts the child’s sleep pattern. For the mother the effects are the same as they would be otherwise, but the baby does suffer a negative effect. (source: Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker). How “bad” this is in the long run isn’t really clear. It’s almost more a question of social behavior. The moment a woman is visibly pregnant, there will be a lot of random people who feel they have the right to dictate how she should behave, as if she is reduced to a babymaker and therefore considered public property.
@kolmkilpkonna
@kolmkilpkonna 3 жыл бұрын
@@AnanasAbanaan The data is that small amounts are fine. And there are many cultures where it is traditional to drink for example diluted wine with dinner and these cultures do not have in general more unhealthy babies. The only issue is that it is hard to tell where the actual limit is, but small amounts do not have negative effects. It is crazy how we police pregnant people about alcohol (problematic only in large quantities), but do not police them about caffeine which actually has clear demonstrated negative effects starting from minimal consumption.
@AnanasAbanaan
@AnanasAbanaan 3 жыл бұрын
@@kolmkilpkonna It is crazy. Especially since we do seem to have a social code that people decide for themselves if they consume alcohol, coffee or animal products, or whatever. But then when you're pregnant, suddenly that all goes out the window.
@Lilobeetle
@Lilobeetle 3 жыл бұрын
I study nutrition at uni and from what I gather the best option is always no alcohol at all. Not only for pregnant people, also for your overall health. It might be little amounts don‘t do much harm (as far as you can tell) but nothing is always better than something in this case. Recommendations by authorities allow for certain amounts just because it’s so ingrained in our culture(s). Telling someone a little bit is okay probably has a better effect than telling someone to stay off the drink completely.

There is no such as "better" parent as long as you strive to be the best to your capabilities....I have four beautiful grown children, they all say and think that each one was my favorite, I always said, when you are marching, or when one was playing softball , or water polo or softball. You are my favorite in that moment...your baby will learn from both of you at very different times, this sweet blessing has a wonderful tag team parent system...I was a single mom, and I am disabled, it was difficult but I wouldn't trade the special moments for anything....

Hi Jessica, I have a random request. Could you do a series of videos on historical Deaf people, a bit like your historical LGBTQI+ series? I know now isn't the time, but maybe in a year or two?

Don't worry, you'll both be equally awesome moms. The best, I'm sure. You're two are one of the loveliest (and funniest) people ever 😊 Any child who has you two as parents is one lucky kid 💕 Btw, I could die for that dress, Jessica 😂 EDIT: I can't believe I predicted the answer before I even watched the video. Read: "equally awesome moms" EDIT: *sees the dislikes - faints in shock*

The only thing that appears in my mind as a response to "what is pica" is a small cute mammal quite closely related to rabbits, which now is spelled as pika but still has the same pronunciation. The word "twinich" is going to be a part of my active vocabulary :)

It was illegal not to name baby's after saints for a very very long time in France too ! The actual law was "you need to name the baby after a name in the calendar" and once someone named a child Cerise (Cherry) after the revolutionary calendar in such days are named after plants. And every blew up.

You guys were one of the first lesbian couples that I kinda saw on KZfaq just living your best lives and idk it was so big for me as I was trying to accept myself and break free of all my internalized homophobia. So seeing you guys go through the process of having a baby makes me so happy and hopeful ❤ sending lots of love your way 🤟

Some people think of cosleeping as bedsharing and others as room sharing. Although cosleeping is room sharing, if you say "Cosleeping" you'll a lot of people, at least Americans, assuming you mean bed sharing.

Both will be just fine. That is why it is good to have two parents in residence or even better with the addition of a grandparent who lives close-by. The child needs the diversity of care by different personalities. Parenting is an art, not a science. So happy for this family!
