Regarding the comment on buying a home vs. renting is 52% higher because of rates is complete BS! Do you know what your interest rate is when you rent? Yes, it's 100% vs. 7-8%... Owning a home locks you into a payment vs. rent increases over time, mortgage is paid down over time and also increases in value vs. paying your landlords mortgage. Correctly stated, if the timing is right for you, go for it, but if it's not, then wait until it does work... However, the longer you wait, the higher the price will be, which comes with higher property taxes and down payment while losing out on equity in the end.

The average 30-yr fixed interest rate since Freddie Mac started tracking it 50+ years ago is 7.8%.
