I only cheated once. I was in an abusive relationship where he also cheated on me while constantly accusing me of cheating. In the end I had enough and thought that I might as well do it since he always claimed I did. He visited his mom in Sweden and I hooked up with another guy for four days straight. I don't regret it one bit and I didn't feel bad about it. If anything, this + a conversation with a couple of friends at the same time was the push I needed to finally leave him a week later. My ex had me so convinced no one would ever want/love me but him. I had no interest in a relationship with the other guy but understanding that there were other people out there that actually did want me helped me a lot to finally leave. Ironically the guy I cheated with was the only one my ex never accused me of sleeping with despite knowing I had been hanging around with him while he was in Sweden. It was very weird.

Cheating destroyed my family. No amount of whinging about how "it's complicated" will ever convince me it's in any way acceptable, and you're not a shithead for doing it. Whatever situtation you're in, there's usually another, morally better, less treacherous option you could take.

to me cheating is the worst thing you can do like if you dont love the person tell them your only going hurt them worse if you cheat at least breaking up first shows you care enough

My 1st relationship kinda end because of that (emotional one). OF COURSE, it was my 1st break but then i got something i never feel before, a feel of both anger but at the same time like relief because i feel it for a while the relationship didn't work too. I feel anger because she could at least let me give some final thoughts before cut it, and i know it probably end up different, before ghosting me. But a friend of us told us to cut it off and leave it there. Of course he tore her a new one for not tell anything and if she feel the same she could at least communicate it before instead of ghosting me (words of that friend long after that break up after gain contact again). OF COURSE, i realize that relationship was really unbalanced and not feel like i was loved the same way. THEN comes the realization our goals were different and she was the one older than me so she wanted a family more than i who was still in my early college days. I came later to the realization i she was a bad person for ghost me like that without any word, but it was a blessing because i could concentrate in better things after. I think 4 years she send me an apology mail for what she did too, but in that one she also said it was unfair for both at the time for different reasons on each end when she realize it. She didn't excuse for cut it like that, but she reasure she hopes I'm doing great and never wish anything ill will. I respond only with "thanks, and i hope the same" ... i was in " *Sigh!* ok... only a single response and move on". My 2nd serious relationship only end because we literally stop liking each other. Of course we remain both aquitance and friends because she isn't a bad person at all and only contact me because of my old work on IT, and only ask me technical questions or questions regardless something she can't find on internet. My current relationship is much more great because my gf works on a similar field i work too, and i do what her field needs mainly.

Even if your partner is abusive, this will not give ammunition to retaliate, try to make the connection with whoever you find who appreciate you the same and tell it. BUT at the same time build the courage to leave your relationship that day too. The abusive person won't had any ammunition to retaliate against any of both and you can serve everything (like a restraing order) if turns violent as well. This only works if you're not marry and you put up with someone abusive. NEVER give in to someone abusive. They prey on weak to satisfy their ego. Chances are, they are already cheating too.

When you get married at 21, have four kids and work for over 30 years for your family, only to realise that you simply function with no love left in your marriage besides the practicality of it. And then you have this one moment that gets the ball rolling. You start reflecting what you want in life and it's not this, while finding another person that you can share all of this with. You hit if off. You know it's wrong but you never learnt how to deal with it either. If you are stuck in the emotional maturity of your early twenties, things are overwhelming. So yeah. Shit's difficult. Doesn't make it right but you can't just up and leave if that's all you've known. And you never learned to communicate feelings with your partner. I'm not condoning this. But, as was said, relationships and situations are more nuanced. (Just things I've seen. I'm only in my late twenties. :D)
