Your right, traditional clay bars are better but I use both since the synthetic type can remove alot of the initial contamination and then I go over the same area with traditional clay. It also saves on going through alot more bars since they need to be replaced after several uses. The synthetic can be rinsed & used many more times till they finally get worn. I liked that you showed this on this video, I personally think using both is the better way to go.

What would you recommend I use a bar or block? Just bought a new 2022 white veichle I wash it weekly have had it for like a month and i do have some light contamination and yellow spots I have never clayed a car but I’m doing it to add a ceramic coating

Joe, I’m using the same business name. I’m in Pa don’t worry. I want to thank you for giving me the confidence to do a one step and be profitable. I know people who do a full perfect correction no matter what. I do a one step like you, customers are thrilled and I’m profitable, and happy. I don’t feel I’m getting ripped off and then I can over deliver and feel good. My mind is never thinking of shortcuts because I know I’m being paid fairly. Thank you so much. I can’t express my thanks.

😅 no worries, it’s common amongst the detailing industry, all of the good ones seem to be taken. But to say the least I like your style 😉 Thank you so much for the kind words. That is the Specific reason I make videos. Its just to help and inspire people with fact over feelings mindsets. Thank you for taking out the time stating how I helped you. That’s what makes all the time and effort I put into these videos worth it. Thank you for your support. 👍✅ I wish you growth and success in your detail journey.

I realized this same truth recently as well. As much as I hate claying with traditional clay, it just plain works better. The optimum synthetic clay mitt seems to perform really well as far as synthetic ones go, but they diminish pretty quickly.

Great video, as someone who has been watching lots of different channels, Chemical Guys loves the Block, but i had the same idea you explained. I was scared when they explained "it doesnt go into the block, it goes on the paint and you wipe it off" all i could think is "when you wipe it off, wouldnt a lot of it go back into the paint?" Just my opinion

You are very right, but I do like these clay blocks since they are much easier to use, if use gently and with good lubrication they don't create marring in the paint and for lazy DIY guy like me 70-80 precent + iron remover is just enough 🙂

So I just found your channel and after watching just a few videos I noticed you keep it real so let me ask you something..... I have a 2015 Hyundai sonata blue that has only been ran through car washes. I'd like to know besides a wash and clay what you would suggest I do to my car to just bring life back to the paint and have some protection. As of now I have the 4 different bottles of griots boss system but would buy whatever you think I need to succeed in shiny protected paint! Thanks for your help

Appreciate that you are enjoying my videos thank you and welcome to the channel. If you have all 4 boss creams you can tackle anything. You can do a multi-stage paint correction, a one step, and a paint enhancement. You have to ask your self what is the overall goal? If you just want shiny protected paint and only looking for 40-60% defect removal you can use finishing sealant with ease and the car will look great in about 4-5 hours of effort. If you want to do a real one step use correcting cream with something like a orange pad you can expect 60-80% of defect removal depending on your skill set If you want to restore the paint to the best condition as possible always commit to a multi-stage paint correction. If perfection is your goal never try to achieve that in just one step this will actually take longer. Compound with fast correcting cream and you can follow behind it with perfecting cream or finishing sealant.

@@NextLevelAutoDetail so once I finish with the boss finish Sealant does it gain any more protection if I was it afterwards
@NextLevelAutoDetail

eddiekytia finishing sealant is essentially perfecting cream with protection inside. So it will add some source of protection. It isn’t the strongest source of protection but it will bead and sheet water. If you are willing to invest the time to really give it a paint correction and not paint enhancement and you are looking for more long term protection you can use Power lock Collinite Poly Wax Or your favorite wax or sealant.

I like using clay blocks/towels when I’m claying and not polishing since they don’t mar as badly.

Correct, these type of blocks might not be the best to remove all, but they just don[t mar the paint like the "fish skin" type of regular clay.

I'm not doubting what you're saying is true but most people that will be using synthetic clay towels, blocks or mits on cars will be on cars that are much newer and only needs a light detail .. I would never attempt to detail a car that old on my own.. I would send it to a professional..

Damn, you weren’t even using the blue nanoskin which would be “weaker” than the red one. I guess nanoskin is good for a car that is well maintained and detailed regularly but for a neglected car looks like a real clay bar is best.

I was told a long time ago ..... If you wanna clean carpet, use another piece of carpet with a cleaner. Wanna clean soil contamination from your car .... use a piece of clay which is essentially soil. Always clean with a similar product as what your cleaning. It really works
