I want to present one word to you that I think really underpins the whole of my philosophy to skincare. If I had to sum it all up in one word, that word would be…. consistency.
Now, why have I chosen consistency?
Consistency is the cornerstone of how I constructed the Routine Finder for the Dr. Sam system. And the Routine Finder was based on the fundamentals of how I practice in my clinic, allowing you to access the principles I use when I'm putting together a personalised skincare routine for my patients.

My dumbass stopped using skincare thinking I wouldn’t need it after my skin cleared from severe acne , then I broke out with at then ever , for 6 months I was suffering in depression until one day u said what in the world did I do for this to come back and I remembered that I stopped using my retinols and moisturizers , glad I’m 3 months back in my old skincare and my skin lowkey glowing other than the scars .

I am learning this now and seeing great results! After years of jumping from one ‘miracle’ product to another (I have used everything from La Mer to Apple Cider Vinegar on my face) I have pared down my routine to just a few products that I use consistently. AM: Cleanser, Vit c, moisturiser and sunscreen & PM: Cleanser, Niacinamide and moisturiser. And I make sure I stick to that. I am just about to introduce Tretinoin into the PM routine and I’m so excited to start that journey 🤍

Taking pictures really helps to see improvements in skin quality and encourages to continue using the products! I have been on a skin lightening regimen for the past three months and, when comparing photos from today abc three months ago, can definitely see that skin brightened and many of my freckles faded. Yet, if I haven’t taken the pictures, I probably wouldn’t have noticed the difference as the change had been gradient

This is true and saves you money long term I use only tretinoin 1% at night spf 50 everyday and eucerin moisturiser I only wash my face at night to remove my spf and I use the la Roche Posay cleansing bar for that no serums no additional vit c etc I never never rub my face and no microfiber cloths it really works 🙏

Of course, consistency comes from diligence and patience, the two most underrated yet crucial trait to accomplish anything. When it comes to skincare for example, everyone online said using salicylic acid would show results after 8 weeks but I didn't quite believe that because I didn't see my skin improving at that rate. I could have just ended it right there but I decided to stay patient and just keep using the 2% leave on SA product until I do see results regardless of how long it takes. It's been almost four months (five if you consider the time I used a SA cleanser to build a tolerance for SA) and I am now starting to see that glow up people kept talking about when the SA takes effect. I still get acne, especially before and during my period but it's a lot more manageable.

Fantastic advice I’m realising the results I am having may be enhanced actually by giving things half a chance and employing a bit of consistency. Actually I suspect you’ve hit on a bit of a core issue here for me, operating way beyond my skincare relationship. The realisation that consistency is king. Thanks.

Hi Dr. Sam, thanks so much for making incredible educational videos, i absolutely love every one of them 🙏🏻 i have a question about your nightly serum. I have very oils t zone (bleak head prone) with super sensitive cheeks (more normal-dry). I have to be careful with my products not to get irritation on my cheeks, it took me so long to find products that work. Can i use your nightly serum? I am using CE ferulic from Skin Ceuticals and have to lay down a thin layer of toleriane moisturizer first to not get irritation, just for reference. Was wondering if i Can use your nightly serum or if it might be too much for me as it contains a few actives in one? Thanks so much! 😊♥️

Good reminder about the skin cycles and needing to wait until at least three months to see a difference! I've not done my skincare routine correctly, unfortunately. I got so excited about developing a skincare routine that I started a whole bunch of products around the same time before I could see how my skin reacted to any of them. My acne has cleared up heaps though, so I'm reluctant to stop using any of the products.

I am going to buy your whole skincare range once I’ve used up products I’m using right now. My skin is pretty normal and I’m just wondering whether I would be ok using both the am and pm serums on the same day please to begin. I understand half a pump alternate days but will each serum be ok to use on the same day thanks very much.? Looking forward to trying them.
@kendallstark4302
@kendallstark4302 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Cathryn. From what I gather, it's safe to use both serums on the same day, just not at the same time. So, Brightly in the AM, Nightly in the PM. She also recommends starting actives one by one. I guess that could mean using one of them for a week and if you don't see any negative reaction, you could start the other. Hope this helps!

I STILL mix my retinol with a moisturizer before applying, after 6 months... I use the PC Retinol booster every 2-3 days. I do think it might help you to mix yours as well. Is it possibly due to a cross interaction of products?
@AndreaCIC
@AndreaCIC 4 жыл бұрын
I'm going to try both recommendations! 3-4 days instead of 2, and mixing it with moisturizer, and applying it over moisturizer as well. I'm not using any active ingredients in this 3 months and my moisturizer is plain moisturizer for sensitive skin, so tretinoin is the only possible cause.

Hi, I also have sensitive skin and i'm using 0.025% retin A prescribed by my derm. Maybe it's because of the amount of tretinoin you apply? You only need a little amount for the entire face as it causes irritation. Also I've learned from Dr. Dray that you should not mix actives with other ingredients, like apply each product one after the other but don't mix. After applying your moisturizer let it absorb completely before applying tretinoin on a completely dry face. Hope this helps ☺️
