As a SoCal native it’s crazy that there’s a discussion about MB future 05-06 was my freshman year in HS until MB showed up he ended the drought yeah 2nd year missed playoffs!! But as a Kings fan MB has posted 2 straight winning seasons! I’ve been waiting for winning basketball MB has done and will continue to do that!!!

We don't know what Mike asks? When you are on the table, the discussion is not only about his salary, I guess the biggest question is that Kings don't want to spend money and hit the luxury penalty for spending money on players. I don't think Mike will sign without getting at least one star player on the roaster, plus one starter.

I'm OK with Kings brass having A wait till the end of next season approach. Losing 6 times to New Orleans and getting beat pretty handedly WITHOUT Zion in that play in game then watch A young OKC team sweep them wasn't A good optical for Kings Management. That could send A into a tail spin and make them begin to doubt their Coach. Lots of those losses were blowouts too. I'd have a wait and see approach if I were management. Mike Brown has done A great job. Both these things can be true at the same time. I'd have zero issues with Brass seeing how this year plays out before they resign him and pay Him Big bucks.

Man, can’t help but see here how simplistic some see coaching. Look at the ups and downs with a good coach like Pop and the Spurs. When he had 4 hall of farmers they were great! No wonder… Look at Kerr and the warriors or Budenholzer. Guys all had hall of fame talent. Malone gets fired with the Kings and then gets hall of fame talent in Jokic and then is the man. If Brown was head coach with warriors he would have multiple championships just like Kerr. To look at a record and number of titles for a coach is so simplistic to me. It’s so much more about who they are, how they think, and decision making. Records and titles speak to the talent you had. Injuries play a big part in this too, as with the kings this year.

If the owner of the Kings doesn't turn around and make the Right Moves to make us a winning team and bring Pride to our city, then he needs to be investigated for corruption. Because I can't think of any other reason why he would make these dumb decisions unless he's getting some kind of Payday for it

I may not agree with all MIke Browns decisions but I am 100% behind him being the coach for the foreseeable future, you can not build chemistry without repetition. There is no world I do not reward the guy who got us into the playoffs and got us one game from the playoffs. We need roster changes, not coaching changes.

I like Coach Brown. I hope the Kings can really offer a good offer. The Brown detractors need to see the big picture. In the past the kings organization just hire and fire coaches like drinking a bottle of water and throwing it out. They are "building" a culture of winning. I reason we need a stable coach that can guide draft picks and young players... This is looking ahead past Fox/Sabonis..and when they are past their "window" of winning... We will still need a good coach. -For those who want coach out... Consider whom the Kings can replace him with?? I wouldn't replace him with any coach or assistant out there now. I wouldn't go chase JJ Reddick. The Kings as an organization need to find a reasonable way to negotiate with coaches and player's going forward. The Kings have been perceived as "last or near last" on front office moves... We have Monte and coach Brown who have potential to build a winning team and Monte who has connections and savvy to not get bullied or pushed to do a panic move. I see his long term plan not to lock up the kings money on potentially dead end elite players or those who won't sign long term with the kings. It's obvious the talent on this roster and especially the bench players compared to Minnesota, Denver, Dallas and even pelicans, OKC and Houston ...shows the kings need just more talent.

Roster issue?? I thought Mike said this team could have won 50 games regardless of injuries. I definitely think the roster could use some improvements but it’s definitely not a roster issue that cost us to miss the playoffs imo. We easily could have and should have been 2-3 games better this season. Also as much as it’s a credit to Mike for helping this team better it’s also credit to the players and Monte. I’m sure a deal will get done but if one doesn’t then I trust Monte knows what he is doing.

If extending Mike Brown keeps Malik Monk, then get it done. We saw what the Kings were without Monk. No NBA player wants to come to Sac because of the instability among other reasons. Lets change things around and start by extending Mike Brown.

Mike Brown benched Davion Mitchell the ninth overall pick he didn’t think about trying to develop him no I wouldn’t give him an extension if Tom Thibodeau for whatever reason the Knicks don’t extend him I would sign him in a heartbeat over Mike Brown

I think we're making this into something that is unnecessary. Essentially, falling into what ESPN wants, which is to make a non-story into a story, and to continue with the narrative that the Kings organization is inept. These are early meetings, and of course there will be small delays, side discussions, and tactics involved. These are professionals at the table who know the process, as well as the art of negotiations. We're talking millions here. Woj reported on a big "nothing" during a slow media day to gather an over reaction...and he succeeded as always. Brown will be offered and sign an extension.

Mike Brown can hold the water for the players ,or to brush the floor between the time breaks.He can coach any looser team for sure .If SAC wants to win they have to find real coach !

Although Mike Brown had the best record among recent Kings’ coaches, he also had the best roster by far. His stubborn rotations and lack of making adjustments is holding the team back. He is what Mark Jackson was to the warriors. He laid a good foundation but they need their Steve Kerr to take it to the next level. Extending him to a 5 year/ $50m contract would be a mistake. This past season was disappointing even with the injuries. Make him earn it this season. If not, move on.

If nothing more the Kings need to pay Coach Brown to stay on the path of stability, as a mid market team they can not afford another reason for free agents to not come here. Let wait and see what the draft and free agency bring before we cry wolf. There was also a big loss we need to replace on the staff sooner rather than later, maybe the fact there's still postseason games being played before they can do that. I think having Fox and Domas on board with coach Brown (and Keegan) speaks loud enough to stay with him.... BTW Monk has a special relationship with him and our chances of keeping him are better with him than without him

"Dramatically turned around the team's defense"? They were languishing at around 23rd defense and 13th offense at the allstar break. After MB was forced to play Keon Ellis (arguably the best defender on the team) big minutes due to guard injuries, they finished 14th defense and 16th offense. You really think they would have finished significantly better than 23rd defense if MB wasn't forced to play Keon big minutes? I'm not saying fire Mike Brown but he is a mediocre head coach who probably was the main proponent of running back the starting lineup given he said he believed they can CONTEND FOR THE TITLE in a season that was a lottery year, in reality. That's still my biggest gripe with him - all evidence supports MB being the one who wanted to run it back and I doubt this version of this small market franchise can recover from that mistake

Smh. One year removed from coach of the year. Mike was given the same exact team with the task of improving the defense and making a playoff run. The defense got up to about average which was the goal, and with a trade I believe we could have made a good run. Mike isn’t perfect but let’s redirect some of this pressure to Monte and him making some moves.

So they didn't need to hear that bs about contending this season when the roster is clearly not built for it. I watched a vlogger try to climb Mt Everest and his goal was always "the summit" while the goal of everyone else in his group was just to get to the next camp. They all made it to the top, and he didn't. Taking it step by step is basically always the smarter approach so you can focus on actually moving forward and not sliding back in regression like Mike Brown led this team in regressing this season

Leading a team that has only one all star/all nba player on it,to the 3 rd best record in West is pretty good.Give the league a season to adjust to same 5 players being your only options and finishing with 2 less wins than last season shows coach has a positive presence.Maybe the GM could have brought in Gafford and Washington and coach wouldn’t have to go through the entire bench looking for what casual fans still can’t identify what he needs.

We do shoot too many 3’s but who other than Fox and Monk ,and to an extent Murray can dribble with both hands into the paint ?which is why the Kings lose to common defenses that double Sabonis down low and sag off of him when he’s at the top of the key.He forces the play cause he has to be the ball distributor and has high turnover games.Fox and Monk are scorers and not primary distributors.The GM added players that don’t have a niche on this team and coach can only play whose on the team.Kings are in a similar situation as Suns,2 scoring guards and NO point guard to run the team.

Murray/Huerter/ can't dribble either, Brown admitted Barnes had NO ROLE, last in FT%, big leads gone in an instant, Sasha misused and unused, Brown has problems, but nobody holds him to account. Many ppl wanna crown him👑

Whe does the Kings make easy things difficult? hmm.....why did they draft Pervis Ellison? Hire George Karl? Why did God punish Sacramento by letting the Maloofs own them? Why did they pass on Damian Lillard in the draft? Luka Doncic? (well, ok. they passed on him cause he'd have rather played in Russia). Why fire Malone, who goes to Denver - and then the guy who fired him....goes to Denver? why? It's tradition! To be a long term Kings fan.....is to know that there is the answer to that question is: because Sacramento.

Mike brown is a terrible coach. No plays, no adjustments, he ruined Davion and huerter. I don’t want to hear about no coach of the year bullshit. The west was hurt so the kings had an easy route to 3rd. The same idiots that voted MB coach are the year are also the same idiots that didn’t vote Fox or Dona’s an allstar and also put AD ahead of sabonis on the all nba team so stop it. That doesn’t say much. HB is terrible yet MB continued to go with him down the stretch. The fact that the players set a players only meeting speaks volumes. 9/10 that means there is trouble in paradise. The players don’t even like him. God I hate Mike brown. No wonder the lakers fired him after 5 games .

Like I left on my own comment. Who is a better replacement? We went through 4-5 coaches... I believe that if the Kings don't re-sign coach ... Then the new coach and "gm" will be pushing that "reset" button again. 4-6 coaches in 8+ years... Meaning we are just resetting everything over again and again. Who do you see the Kings bringing in that can continue with the current roster? Coach Malone and coach Karl were great but the organization firing them doesn't give a player on the outside any faith that the potential to play with Mike Brown... Is just a paper tiger fantasy.
