Yea, no one seems to take it seriously. I’m afraid to travel now because people love spraying anything, everywhere.

It’s like calling someone crazy when you’re the one creating these unknown poisons or at the least unknown chemicals that smell bad. The label just says fragrance. If they can’t even make their poison smell decent then you know it’s something bad.

I think they just don’t care or don’t believe you. Asking anyone to stop using or minimizes starts a gaslighting game with them. They minimize it, double marinade just to see how you react. What they do not realize is, you already know asking for accommodations was hard and making a bigger deal will call attention to your disability and not your work. I had a few people play fragrance games with me even after I and the company asked them to stop. It doesn’t matter. It seems to be all out of ignorance or spite. One guy ended up giving me a bloody nose that I had to work from home. The sprays I was using in my nose wasn’t working at all. Its not something an allergy medicine can cure. Nothing works. My get dizzy, confused and head high and can’t even figure out or focus what im reading. God forbid put me behind the wheel. All I can do is lost 2 hours of productivity and go home and finish work after hours. There is nothing like added hours of anxiety just catching up when no one is around.

How are you doing now? Did you use help of any professional? Please share. I have the same issue.

Very relatable! It's not in your head. Those chemicals give me the same physical reactions every time. I regret spraying on perfume after about 10 minutes when the anxiety, nausea and migraines start. After that, it's all about being able to get home ASAP to shower and wash all the clothes I was wearing. That stuff is toxic.

❤ it can. My mom, me, and my daughter all have it to different degrees. Seems to be passed down. All you can do it mask, stay away because its hard to control the world. Canada has fragrance free signs almost everywhere. I wish that was true in the States. And no, vitamins don’t help. Been there and done everything multiple times. Avoidance is the only option. Different fragrances cause different triggers and it also depend on how much ventilation is in the room and what chemical mix it is to body chemistry. Its not in your head. And yes you are being mentally toyed with by heavy scent wearers when you politely ask them to stop.

That's what I've always thought. I'm sure if I google this, I'll find lots of information about it. A young fellow in my apt. building now has a new girlfriend, and I don't know if it's her perfume, or she is using air freshener in the boy's apartment, who knows! But my God, it's so strong that even with my apt. door closed, the god-awful smell leaks into my apartment. Just my luck.

Same, but chemical ones causes the worst reactions. It only takes 2 seconds before my brain shuts down. Head confusion, low blood pressure, dizziness, feeling high like I been drugged, asthma attacks and stuffy nose. My reactions all depends on which chemical mix and how much a person marinade in it. I can usually deal in well ventilated places where people put it on lightly. If I can’t smell them with a person between us, that’s okay. The worse I get is maybe a stuffy nose and brain fog. And if i realize that isn’t working, i leave immediately and go outside. I can suck down coffee to get my brain going a bit faster to counter the fog. But I only have a few tricks up my sleeves for mild users. Asking people to stop hurts their feelings and often they try to get you back by wearing them stronger or purposely pass by you to see how you react.

Yeah she’s beating around the bush hard on this one. Even searching on google you will find that it’s toxic chemicals they use to make fragrances. My guess is that this lady is being paid to say this, or she just really doesn’t want to admit the truth that the chemicals in fragrances are neurotoxins. Not impressed honestly.

Same here! I have been learning so much from Dr. Dalton about how others perceive scent. Something that smells great to on person can be horrid to another. What's even more fascinating is that for those who have negative reactions to fragrances, their reactions can really differ. Some get headaches, while others feel nausea, or have coughing fits.

Were you there looking for a fragrance or passing through?!? If you want to check out a fragrance, but hate the overwhelming smell of the fragrance department or being spritzed by demonstrator, consider Sephora. They don't use fragrance demonstrators and let people take home vials of the scent so they don't manifest in the aisles of the store...if that helps :)

That's untrue, I have sprayed many a cologne at Sephora so change that up.

Probably because this stuff is toxic! The manufacturers can get away with using all sorts of questionable chemicals because the FDA protects them by passing legislation which essentially gives them permission to use just about anything in their products.

I'm the same way, I get it from some perfumes, really strong ones I've noticed make me sneeze a lot, cough, and have difficulty breathing. But lighter sprays or light flower scents are okay. I agree it does suck I like perfume too. I recently got a spray that has an awesome peach fragrance from bath and body works and It works for me, but I entered the washroom one time, and my dad sprayed a lot of it, let's just say I couldn't breathe for like 2 minutes LMAOO
