So, the 1990s then, huh? They sure do come up in my videos a lot, because the stuff I talk about tends to be from around that time. Sure, while many of you may know my favorite era of the industry is the early 2000s, or in other words, the sixth generation, I have an undeniable appreciation for the old but gold sidescrollers from before the dawn of 3D the industry has to offer. Mario, Sonic, Mega Man X, you name it. However, there's another series from around this time I think manages to contend with, if not top many of the best of its era, and it's one I sadly don't see quite as much conversation around these days. I'm of course talking about Donkey Kong Country, because... well, I assume you read the title when you clicked on this video, right? If not... uh, how did you get here?
Anyway, Donkey Kong Country is easily one of my favorite platforming franchises out there, and up until now, I've put off talking about it long enough. I'm taking a bit of a break from Sonic to avoid burnout, so I say why not move into another overly-long video that takes forever to come out... because it's about monke, how can you not love it? In all seriousness, this is a series I've wanted to talk about for a while, so I hope you enjoy hearing what I've got to say... because it's a lot. Heads up though, I'll only be talking about the original SNES trilogy for now, because I'd rather not be doing two extended, full-series marathons at once. In any case, thanks for watching, and once again thanks for 1,000 subscribers!
