What does it mean for a game to be one of your favorites of all time? Now that is sure a loaded question. You may cite any number of reasons, but truth be told, it can sometimes be hard or outright impossible to explain, especially in a convincing way, why you like certain games over others, let alone why one stuck out to you as a favorite. That being said, you sometimes encounter those cases where it's almost a no-brainer, and the reasons are rather clear and unambiguous. For me, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, is one of those cases.
Donkey Kong Country was already a smash hit when it was released, and even led to Nintendo increasing their stake in Rareware, increasing to a total of 49% ownership. As an official second party developer now, Rare would use the profits earned from DKC1 in the development of a highly-anticipated sequel, however this wouldn't be any ordinary sequel. They were gonna step up their game, getting more ambitious than the first game ever was, and attempt to produce a game that could outdo the surprise hit that essentially won Nintendo the fourth generation console war. Back then, DKC2 was highly acclaimed, and to this day, it's often considered the best of the trilogy. Obviously, I'm one of those people, and now doing videos on these games, it's time for me to explain why that is. So join me, in yet another multi-hour behemoth... no clue what my deal is this year, as I delve into what exactly made Donkey Kong Country 2 so awesome.

Hey there, if you read down this far, thank you for watching! The videos have been slowing down lately because of life stuff, but regardless, I hope you enjoyed and thought it was worth the wait. Next up is obviously DKC3, and I'll try to get it out as soon as possible, hopefully before the end of the year, but no promises. That video will probably be a similar length to this one if I had to guess, and I've just started with the script as of writing this description, so... yeah. Anyway, thanks for watching, again, and I'll see you in the next one
