They can say “thank you” all they want. If they don’t show appreciation for you by the way they treat you, those are just words.

You’re absolutely correct! But it’s gotta start somewhere.

@@LeadershipwithMike I agree that it's a start. Where I work is so toxic no one can say thank you. You can't even get a hello in the morning.

@@LeadershipwithMike I have been shocked at the behavior in my workplace. Mobbing style bullying Sexual harassment Ostracizing Withholding information What's horrible is upper management knows about it but have their hands tied. This toxic boss is an expert in half truths so when it's brought to HR it seems like it was an innocent mistake, oversight, or a momentary lapse in bad judgment. I can easily transfer but honestly every dept in the whole corporation has similar issues and it really sucks because it's only a few people in each dept but in most cases it tends to be one of the leaders that is the bully. Hard to leave when you want the best for upper management but can't handle the day to day fight with lower management.

@@LeadershipwithMike it’s often phony, though. And people can tell.

I recently left a workplace that perfectly fits your description of toxic. Unfortunately, I have been in a few of these. They were all in the public sector. So this motivated me, at the age of 53, to pursue a career overhaul. I am now a happy, well-paid truck driver - with a Bachelor's degree :)

@@BillClinton228 In my personal experience in the public sector, managers never seemed to be held accountable for dysfunction. I never saw or heard of a manager being fired. It was always part of the system to just hire new employees and squeeze one or two year's work out of them before they move on.

I turned in my 2 week notice recently. The owners of a flooring company with a staff of less than 15 employees. This husband & wife don't view their staff as their most valued resource as key to their success of their business. They are rolling in lots of $ and only a few favored employees see that in their paychecks while i don't regardless of what i bring to the table. During my time there of 8 months, i have seen a conveyor belt of employees coming and going. I cannot work for employers who are shady, untrustworthy and do not see themselves and their style of management as the real problem as to why people don't stay. They make excuses & say that people don't want to work & so on. Which is unfortunate because their business could really flourish.

I'm 47 my most favorite teacher was my grade 8 teacher and he truly prepared us for our future and made us understand how Important highscool and college were. Also to touch base on your current topic. I put in my letter of resignation yesterday with a company that I truly enjoyed and then they fired a manager that made the atmosphere fun to work in. They hired a new manager and he always yelled had 0 experience in what he was doing and made our environment toxic. I made a positive move and started looking for another job. This Monday I start a career in printing. The company that I'm going too has a union a fabulous pension plan and according to the employee feedback it's a faimly based company and management constantly go around and physically show appreciation for its employees and last but not least.....The $$$$ is great! I'm not one for $$$ I'm more about enjoying what you do for a living and feeling wanted. Great video and thank you for sharing.

Appreciate your videos including this one. I currently work in a law firm with a toxic boss who lacks communication, nit pics, micromanages and never seems to be happy even when you meet the firms goals. Putting in my 2 weeks tomorrow and I must say i feel so happy and free. Thanks again for these great vids. They really do help.

I had to take over our whole medical aid department for two months as all the staff in that department left as they didn't want to work there anymore. I stuck up my hand as I had some experience. I got no thank you for adding that to me work load.

It should be illegal for bosses to call employees back into work when the employees are on scheduled vacation especially when the employee are on a out-of- State or out-of-Country vacation.

It's responsibility of employee to assess managers character from day one & then decide how much time and mind to invest. Employees must keep reviewing managers every single day. Watch everything manager do, dont do, what type of people he favours, including managers attendance to office. Its stupid many employees don't do it, invest too much only to get hurt.
