Reducing expenses by itself is not going to work. Heavy CapEx is needed for software and electrification components, and these Euro suppliers aren't keeping up with that; low-margin suppliers are going to struggle. Also, too many regulations in Europe😕. Interesting video! Localizing supply for the battery chain is key for cost competitiveness.

Dependency on supply chain. CCP can just dictate its industry whatever it wants, thus gaining unhealthy leverage on critical EU supply chains. In the EU there is actual rule of law where the suppliers can sue the government and win.

Of course its politics. No ther explanations necessary. If they want Chinese suppliers, they would bend backwards to make it happen regardless of what disavantages it may cause.
