I used to not mind dogs a couple decades ago, when they were still……dogs and not the humans people are projecting them to be these days. Dog culture and dog owners are the reason I absolutely despise dogs now.

As a man who works early mornings, going to repair appointments and such, knocking on the door and not hearing a creature yapping either from the backyard or from the door is always incredibly relieving. And, whenever there is a dog on the property, there’s a good chance it will not stop barking until I leave. This is why me and my wife don’t own any dogs. To relieve other people of the same stress.

I got chased the dogs in our neighborhood 10 times when I was a kid. I barely escaped in a bicycle. These dogs have also bitten about 8 people in the last year. That's why I hate dogs.

I’m sure you know how hard it is dating if you don’t like dogs, not to mention pets In general. I grew up with dogs and pets, since moving out I don’t want a damn thing to do with them. The smell, the hair, the mess, the constant barking an whining. It’s like taking care of a toddler for years. What a nightmare.

100% agree with you, growing up with dogs has been a nightmare. And my god they smell so damn awful, no matter how good you bathe them. So many pet odor products and what do you know, all of them has a dog on the front of the product. When my dad's dog passed last year, I have never had a better sense of smell. No more dog hair flying around, and no more of that nasty smell. And the barking, my god is honestly one of the biggest reason why I hate dogs. I think the reason I got sensitive ears was because of dog barking, whenever one barks I flinch and cover my ears. And last of all, their hypocritical owners. There's just so much I want to say but cannot put it into full detail. Might make a video on it, not sure. But there are more reasons.

I hate when they drool. Makes me sick to me stomach. I cannot eat around them because I hate the way they stare at me expecting me to share with them. They are truly disgusting creatures.

I hate dogs as well! Noisy, stinky, needy, costly for no reason, because they do not give anything in response. No, they do not give us love, they just know who provides food for them.

Glad you are outting this topic, which has flown under the radar for ages. It's about time someone is finally pushing back against this dog-loving epidemic. Going all the way back to the 1950s when the public was brainwashed into the notion that TV dogs were man's best friend, from Rin Tin Tin and Lassie to Snoopy, Benji, Beethoven, and countless other four legged barkers -- and the list goes on and on. Sure enough, the first major pet company opened its doors in the mid 1960s (right after mass media subliminally started indoctrinating us to love doggies), and now just about every other strip mall has one of these stores in some neighborhoods. People don't have only one dog like the olden days, but now they have two, three, or more. Some owners are really psycho. Recently, a canine owner I bumped into on a walk had a pup with him, and before you know it, the gentleman wanted to show me that his breed of dog had four nostrils instead of two. The fellow pulled the animal's nose open so I could look at the unusual anatomy as if I were a veterinarian -- and as “Fido” struggled to escape the owner's awkward grasp of his snout. I could write a book on how annoying and potentially dangerous dogs are and how incredibly mindless their owners often are. Most of all, they are so arrogant, expecting everyone to love their dog. And people who don’t like the creatures are identified as bad people. I guess folks are lonely, afraid, and believe a dog provides companionship and/or protection, while many of us who feel otherwise can be perfectly fine if we never saw such an animal again in our lives. Like you, I don't hate pooches. I just don't believe they need to be almost everywhere in a civilized society. Imagine sitting in a park, enjoying a healthy sandwich, when a dog comes along and does his business a few feet from where you're sitting. Maybe that happened because the animal sensed you didn't like him. 🙂 There seems to be no end to the ways these creatures can get away with so many bothersome behaviors as they intrude into our daily lives, leaving us with fewer and fewer dog-free safe spaces. But it's good for business.

It’s crazy how you always have to defend yourself when you say you’re not the biggest fan of dogs or that you’re afraid of them and almost get treated like you’re a bad person, in general the fact that you definitely will loose some sympathy points with others and get judged when they find out you don’t particularly like dogs or are afraid of them is so fuckin sad and ridiculous 😅 I don’t hate all dogs right off the bat but I’m always wary when I meet them and If they’re chill, I’m chill. However I‘d rather not have them around in the first place. I’ve just had a couple not so fun experiences as a child, starting with a random big dog out of nowhere running me over as a little kid when I was sitting in a park playing in the snow. I was not prepared and it scared the shit out of my 4 year old ass, I couldn’t stand up and the dog was right in my face sniffing and even If it just wanted to play of course in my head I thought it wanted to bite me. Then a couple years later at age 5/6 I was playing alone by myself on the playground behind our house, the gate was unlocked and a black big dog, no owner in sight came zooming towards me, barking. Again, he likely just wanted to play and was indeed friendly but I don’t know that so I obviously ran. That dog chased me around the playground for like 5 minutes, I was afraid as hell, crying out for my mum when I was finally able to save myself on top of the slide. My mum was so fuckin angry, the owner turned out to be one of my friend’s parents who have just bought the dog but lost control of it and have it run off. Then one of my school friend‘s had a Beagle I was only like 1,30 m tall when I was in 1st and 2nd grade so in comparison he was quite tall for me and that dog would always bark and jump on you. He did that every time when I was around and every time I froze in fear. Then when I was 9/10 years old I witnessed how one of my friends got attacked by a dog. It was a dangerous dog (definitely the human‘s fault and clearly the result of animal abuse but that doesn’t change the fact that the dog was still dangerous) and we were always told by the farmer not to go near him since he was always outside the stable, kept on a rather short leesh. One of the farmer’s grand daughters accidentally got too close one time and he jumped into her face ripping open her lip all the way to her chin. Said dog, jumped me a year later because he got loose during a walk. I was certain my face would be torn apart any second but luckily he was pulled off just in time. later I started to control my fear and realize not all dogs will bite you and I’m okay with smaller dogs because they can’t jump up that high and in a worse case scenario I could at least somewhat defend myself but bigger dogs or even ones that are let’s say australian shepherd sized - not the biggest fan.

came looking for ppl who agree with me cuz lately my bf treats his dog like his little son and literally will order him extra food when we’re broke asf already and dogs shouldn’t be eating human food anyway. Also saying that he just can’t be bothered to text me while he’s walking the dog because it’s “a lot of work” when he chose to buy that dog… it’s just getting out of hand.

I love dogs with all my heart, but why do most dog lovers act like you just disrespected their family and religion when people say they don't like dogs? People have different opinions, it's not that deep 😭 But honestly, I know people have different experiences and opinions, but dog haters can be really rude when talking about them. I wouldnt get mad anyway, it's just that "I'm not really a fan of dogs" is a lot better than "Dogs are fucking ugly and stupid they stink and are so damn needy". Yes, they have flaws that some people just don't want to handle, but I feel like saying stuff like that is ignoring all the good they do. (Yes, I know, dogs have killed people before and it's bad. But without dogs, many lives would either be terrible or lost.)

While I like both dogs and cats equally but moreso leaning towards cats, I'd say that you're on the nose(Probably literally with the smell parts lmao) with your points! Agree with this wholeheartedly. A dog is stressful to own, the barking is just stressful and annoying, its even worse when its during 4am-5am, no wonder I feel stressed out almost every single day. Wish I known I was getting a pet back in 2022 for my B-Day(In June when I went to Las Vegas & California for 2 weeks) so I would've made it so that I got a cat or maybe a snake(Well probably not because my mom don't like reptiles that much) instead since more cleaner, less annoying, less noisier, and less stressful. Hell, if I got a cat or snake instead, I'd be less stressed out to this day. All I gotta do is wait for 2027 which is when I graduate college and move away back to the city I spent my entire K-12 years at, so I can get a cat or a snake..Not spending the rest of my life in stress and yapping. I'd take a soft meow and purr or a silent slithering snake. I also came up with name suggestions for a cat or snake when I get either in 2027, I'll drop them in replies.
