There are definitely a range of dog experiences. I’ve met some chill dogs that really didn’t bother me. But the idea of living with a dog is… a lot. No pets is even better. Dogs and cats severed a purpose in the past. Dogs helped in hunting and cattle farming, cats protected the food stores by eating rats and also prevented the spread of certain diseases by eating rats. That's no longer the case today and if you are living in the middle of a city then you probably don't need a pet to lead a functional life.

There’s a dude on Tiktok that has a pit bull that literally chewed walls and doors to escape the house due to extreme separation anxiety. So because the neighborhood doesn’t care for a crazy anxiety ridden pitbull at large he got his mom to try and babysit it. One day she was 10 min late, no shit 10 minutes the dog was left alone. The dog broke a window on a door and got out. Cats are so easy. Some dogs are like toddlers.
