Hey Isaac thought you might wanna hear my oppinion, this was posted below too. All these women saying oh that weight is impossible, my mum went down from 95 kg to 64 kg in about 5-6 months, her two goal weights are 62 kg and then hopefully 58 kg, so its not impossible and i know that because i have seen how possible it is, im so proud of my mum and im so glad she made it this far, glad for her health mentally and physically and that i wont loose my mum. Its not impossible but the way most people act makes it improbable, peace out!!

some of these equality things actually move more to privilege fishing if women are patronised by men, men - open the door - allow them to walk first - allow them to sit down - give their seat lalala soasf. but women being equal to men would not give a woman these privileges anymore. they’re apparently equal to men, they’re just as strong, soasf. some women in these mvts still ask for privileges. but you’re equal to men now, so stop it. sorry for rant, i’m a girl as well but realised that some of that feminist stuff doesn’t work

As a black woman and over the age of 20, I have very few friends who support my healthy lifestyle. I had a coworker spread a rumor that I was anorexic because I eat salads for lunch every day. Mind you, I am not that thin, I am tall, 5'9, and weigh 140 lbs. I am a normal size woman, but most women I know in the midwest over the age of 30 are pushing 200 lbs, eat horribly and never work out. What do they expect? I understand that working out is hard and eating fewer sucks, but it is worth it. I like being fit and healthy and giving my husband a hard-on. I do it for me and him! These women need to get help and leave me alone.

One thing people underestimate is how good it feels to be a lighter healthy weight just in everyday life. I'm a 5'10" dude and I weighed 145 a couple years ago and bulked up to 180, and even though I'm more muscular and still pretty lean I miss how easy running felt when I was around 145. Being over 200 lbs, especially if I was shorter, would be horrible. You just couldn't move around well.

Do some basic weights, then light but long cardio(walk for a few hours if you're not busy) make sure to stretch, take a cold bath every once and a while and don't eat "healthy" aka no nutrients, make sure to get a proper fill of food but just lower your carb intake for now which is sugar and bread as well as stuff like it, which isn't that hard, you can eat all the meat you want(unless vegetarian) avoid basically everything other than water for drinking, and make sure to have a cheat day, I recommend it to be on your rest day as well, as a good basic work out shouldn't leave your extremely sore every day but after 6 days take a rest, if you want more detailed advice just ask ok? What i hate about the whole "body positivity" movement is that they say they are all for celebrating all women and not judging others based on weight, height, scars, etc. Yet then they shame women for being "too skinny" and calling them "twigs" and "anorexic", which is definitely NOT positive. Like i have a permanent chemical burn on my face that will never go away and it makes my skin very red and dry and if i don't wear makeup you can clearly see it. To me how i deal with this is by covering it up and not making a big deal of it if people see it, and i spread positivity by not judging others who have scars, defects, burns, etc. But saying "oh it's okay for me to be 700 pounds but fuck all you skinny women go eat a burger or something you're so anorexic" is not okay. If you wanna be 600+ pounds, then that is your decision, but shaming others for their weight while at the same time getting mad if someone does the same to you is not okay, it's hypocrisy.

Thank you, at this point being skinny does make me feel kind of insecure. I'm 115 lbs but I've got such a fast metabolism that its extremely hard to gain any weight. I dont have a big chest, nor a big butt. I try to be comfortable with myself but it's hard sometimes. There was a coworker I had at my last job that had told someone else that I told him I wanted him to take my v card. I'm 21 and fine by myself, just trying to focus on myself and get my life together first. So when someone told me and i confronted him about it, he got defensive, claiming he didnt say it. And before i left, he began to insult me, saying that I was too bony for him, that ive got nothing, I'm a twig, and he wouldnt touch me with a 10 ft pole. I never asked him to do that in the first place, and couldn't care less for his opinion but it still hurt to hear bc I know it's true. And on top of that im black/white biracial, and theres the whole idea that theyre all these beautiful women with mixed features and theyre also thicc. Sure ive got blonde hair and hazel eyes, but for a lot of people, the thickness is most important and I lack all of it. It makes me kind of feel inadequate compared to other women, especially other mixed women. But i still try to keep my head up and move along!

As a bloke who is overweight, I had been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my left knee at 21, my hip plays up due to a bursa which was diagnosed when I was 18 and I'm already sure the arthritis has made its way to developing on my right knee (I am now 22). Due to there being no fix for my knee I will be living my life in pain and constantly saying to myself "Why did I lose the weight?" every fucking time my knee plays up. Not only that my family has a history of heart issues and other medical problems due to being overweight and other factors I'm sure. I was 100.8 kg (Roughly 222lbs for those who don't use metric) when I weighed myself some time ago. With the support of my gf who she herself has been working on improving her physical health and my family I started doing the Keto diet. It's been frustrating, downright tedious at times but guess what... IT'S FUCKING WORKING! As of my recent weigh-in I am 91kg (200lbs) and dropping pant sizes, not only that my arthritis doesn't bother me as often and the bursa has been relatively tame. Also to note, I don't find myself getting short of breath as much as I used to and I've been able to perform better in the job I work in which consists of moving around and lifting weighty objects. So all those idiots who are proud to be overweight, take it from someone who's already paid the price and is trying to stop any more complications from developing: LOSE THE WEIGHT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!

I was told that when my family ate pasta I wasn't allowed to, when they ate ice cream I wasn't allowed to. It got to the point where most nights I wouldn't eat because my family couldn't afford healthy foods, often falling back into the convenience rather than what was healthy. I am not saying that encouraging people to be overweight or saying that it is good to be overweight. I just think that people posting about how no matter what weight or body shape you have that you are beautiful can help a lot of people. Also, just because you are okay with not looking like everyone else does not mean that you 'gave up'.

One thing that you first have to think really hard about is: are you willing to give up all junk food and snacks to lose weight? No cheat days, no one piece of candy a day. If not, then it would be best to let others help you instead of doing it yourself. At this point of time you have to be really strict on yourself. It’s okay to snack of course but if you do, it has to be something healthy. Like fruit or veg. But mainly just focus on your calorie intake, I try to be around 1000 - 1500 a day. I actually lost 20 kilo’s at the time of writing this lol. Also, be sure to move around, you don’t have to work out, I didn’t either lol but you have to move around normally, for example. @@MesSobble Well, wait a minute. You should still love your body, even tho you're obese. The hard part is loving it enough to do the hard work of taking care of it & changing yourself to be healthier. After all, it's the only body you got. I was borderline obese. 5'8", 257 lbs, 42 yrs old. I'm in the process of losing weight. I'm currently at 229 lbs. It's been slow going (mostly cuz I go out to eat every payday with my hubby & I end up having a few drinks. We call it our "payday dates". 22+ years of marriage; it's the little things lol) but I'm determined to get down to a healthy weight so that I will be around for my grandkids (when I get them). My point (and I swear I have one) is that hating your body isn't going to help you want to change it. You can hate your weight or fitness level if it fuels your desire to change, but not if it depresses you or makes you question why your partner is still with you (I went thru a period of that; after all, if I find my body disgusting, why would my hubby love me? Insecurity isn't good for a relationship). Anyway, take care of yourself. Don't be down on yourself and make small changes at first. They add up surprisingly quickly and can make major changes less of a hardship.

Not all larger bodies are unhealthy should be made to change but larger bodies SHOULD NOT be fronting the body positivity movement. It should be amputees, burn victims, people with those massive tumors all over their bodies, and a plethora of other people and it should be about respecting them. It should be about seeing those people on the street and not taking a second look or "asking out of curiosity" about their 'issue' We shouldn't be filling any of their comment sections, especially fat peoples, telling them how beautiful and sexy they are. Comment on how nice the picture is or comment on their clothes because body positivity shouldn't be made into "everyone is attractive and you should love them" In conclusion, The body positivity movement should be about respecting uncontrollable physical differences and not how attractive fat people are Edit: spelling and grammar

Even people with problems out of their control should try to work on their body regularly (except of course people who are medically not allowed to perform intense physical activity). even if it doesn't improve your looks, the mental changes brought about by working out or maintaining a healthy diet is amazing. i am a slightly overweight person. i have been working out for some time. although my body hasn't changed very much, the fact that I am doing whatever I can to be healthy results in a huge boost of self esteem.

I believe that it isn’t wrong to love yourself at any weight. Health isn’t just about physical health, but mental health, too. However, it gets to a point where there are negative effects on your physical health too and that does need to be changed. However, you have to love yourself first. The amount of people, including myself, who went into dieting hating on their bigger body and then developed an eating disorder is crazy. I feel a lot of people need to understand also, that skinny does not always mean healthy. And I’m not talking about people who are severely underweight, or those who honestly struggle to put on weight, I’m talking about those with a fast metabolism. For example, my brother. He’s skinnier than me, but eats far more (and is very much so into anything sweet). So, yeah, it’s not all black and white for me. Of course, just my opinion.

The body positivity movement should be for people with stuff like facial scars, visible burns, stretch marks, disabilities, amputees, and other uncontrollable things that make them look different. It shouldn’t be a movement to make people feel better about being lazy and eating McDonald’s for every meal.

@DaeDaesBlock
@DaeDaesBlock 3 жыл бұрын
It really should be a place where everyone can be accepted in. With any scars, burns, stretch marks, disabilities, etc, and for ALL bodies. I thought the movement was for all but I’m quickly not seeing that. I was body shamed in my middle school years (I’m a senior in high school now) and I took those comments seriously and tried to force myself to lose weight. It staved myself and etc. I would hate how I want the one of the “skinny and fit” girls. Till my boyfriend told me how beautiful my body was and o began to accept it for what it was. I did sports in highschool so I had lost some weight. But this isn’t the point. I have a friend whom is considered “skinny” (I try not to use the word skinny since that’s one of her triggering words) who was body shamed. Hearing that from her made me want to spread even more body positivity to ALL bodies and support them in whatever they do! Whenever me and my other friend talked about our body shaming as once “fat” people she felt as if her story wasn’t as important. And I told her it was! Everyone gets bodyshamed! She is trying to gain weight and has told me how her family doesn’t want to cause her body is already “fit”. She has a high metabolism. I told her to do whatever makes her happy, it’s her body not mine. It’s not a slap in the face to us or once “fat” people when a skinny person wants to gain weight. Everyone’s body is different. With that being said, in some “fat” people’s cases it’s very hard to lose the weight. I still feel as though all bodies should be loved. Cause u can still be “fat” and healthy. And “skinny” and unhealthy and Vice versa. I feel as though we should change the movement! It’s alright to gain weight if u are “skinny” especially if u need to cause of how dangerously low ur weight gets! But it’s also alright to be “fat” too just as long as your health isn’t effected. Lizzo is a perfect example of this. She is a “fat” person and she is healthy! ALL BODIES ARE GOOD BODIES! ALL SCARS AND BURNS AND STRETCH MARKS SHOULD BE LOVED BY ALL! we can’t change what we were born with! So yeah... :3 that’s me rant.

Because since she lives there it made her such a native, blinded follower of who ever screams the loudest. She called me privileged because I have a shredded body. I never knew that my body's current physique was made in one magical moment instead of constant discipline. And btw it's no suffering, I don't even have a super strict diet. I might have an advantage with my genetics but on the other side my genetics make it almost impossible for me to have warm hands and feet when it's cold. Hahaha I've got super high respect for everyone who works so hard to get back to a healthy weight! Too bad if thin people are extremely thin can't put on weight or muscle because they suffer from one of many metabolic illnesses that can do that to you, what a privilege. Do people even know what the word "privilege" means? You can go to the most disadvantaged places on earth and I'll guarantee almost all inhabitants will be thin as twigs with bloated stomachs. Yup. Everyone has things they're looking for in a partner, both physical and mental. It just so happens that 'looks healthy' is hardcoded into most people's preferences for evolutionary reasons. One problem is that body positivity seems to have been somewhat hijacked. I recall seeing some pictures of plus-sized models a little over a decade ago and... well, there was nothing wrong. They had good figures, generally looked healthy, were well proportioned and without seeing their measurements or some other indicator of scale in the photos, you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell they were "plus sized" at all - they were big, but more "Gwendoline Christie" big than... what we were shown in the video. I think they were a little bit broader compared to their height than typical wasp-waisted waifs, but there's always going to be a bit of variation in that respect. They were probably fitter, stronger, and had less excess body fat (taking into account that women have a higher healthy body fat percentage than men) than myself. And then we have... well, what was shown in the video. Now, I'm sure that ACTUAL "plus-sized models" are probably still more likely to be what I described because you can't get away with being too disconnected from reality when you're in a business, but there's a big difference between calling out that expecting most women to be like Barbie is unrealistic on the one hand, and enabling unhealthy lifestyles on the other.

Body Positivity was hijacked by the ‘Fat Acceptance’ movement- it’s NOT meant to be the same thing; I learnt that originally, the Body Positive movement was about encouraging positivity & acceptance for those who had lost limbs, or the like... God, ‘Fat Acceptance’ is vile...

Seems to be a common trend for these movements which premise with good intentions get hijacked by a bunch of irrational, misrepresenting degenerates. All these people go on about how evil society is and what they demand from it, but they literally just dominate and silence actual reformative movements which were doing positive things and really pursuing the original idea of progressivism for the sake of getting the attention they want quickly, rather than forming a movement of their own ground up.

How about the double standard between thin vs. plus size? According to the body positivity movement, only people of the latter seem to be allowed to love their bodies.

I am a girl that like girls, and a feminist, here is what I think about body positivity; As long as woman loves her body, yay, you go girl (I just hope it doesn't affect your health later on) But I wouldn't date/marry someone who doesn't take care of her body. It's my choice, there is a difference between fat-shaming and having standards/a preference. I'm not sure if what I said really defines the mouvement, it's just my opinion

Your opinion is ok, and we all make choices about what we're attracted to. That's ok too. l sence that if you have a friend who is obese, you will not shame them in any way. And you will not make THEIR fat related health YOUR concern.

then you are fatphobic (according to the SJWs). Same with "trans" people saying nowadays if men that don't wanna date biological males that call themsleves "trans females"....they are trans-phobic. Basically, these people try to DICTATE the prefernces / opinions / life of OTHERS.

I thought body positivity was about loving yourself and becoming confident. I think that heavy/overweight people took the reigns cause they get the most hate on the way their body looks. It took a wrong turn when people bring weather or not you're too big or to skinny. It should only be about loving yourself and taking care of yourself.
