Up until I was about 13, I was heavily overweight. My father had died of heart disease when I was younger so when I really grasped that concept, I immediately tried to make change. 4 and half years later I’m now 17 and I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been and now I’m a Cross country runner. Losing weight was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made

Her medical license should be revoked immediately. She is spreading false information in an attempt to make herself feel better about her own weight. Putting the health of her patients in jeopardy all for the sake of her feelings. That is malpractice and incompetence if I’ve ever seen it.

Ironically, she makes me want to exercise and eat healthy

The thing that pissed me off the most was when the “doctor” started listing people who are “born healthy”. White, male, rich, straight. What the heck does bing ANY of those have to do with being healthy? This woman concerns me deeply and frustrates me on a whole other level

I'm studying to be a nurse and we had a whole week looking at the negative effects of obesity and it's effects on major organs... an overweight lady in the class piped up and said how she couldn't lose weight and how her body is 'naturally' fat and the teacher just shut her down and said that consistency is key and that obesity would eventually catch up to her.... so the doctor is seriously off her rocker and obviously never listened in class

As a person that weighed near 160 pounds near the age of 9 going into sports and losing weight was the best thing that happened to me this doctor should not be taken seriously and needs her license revoked

I'm 5'7 (yes I'm a short arse) and used to be 190lbs I made a change and now sit comfortably at 160lbs at 15% body fat (I lost about 36lbs of fat and gained muscle mass) Losing that weight was the best thing I ever did

Got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and since going on a diet to cutting out crap my skins better, my babies healthier in the womb, I’ve lost a little weight too and I intend to carry on this diet because I can see and feel it’s positive effects. I was eating too much sugar and carbs and it was my fault! So taking this diagnosis and diet as a positive thing for the future to be more healthy and happy! If I took this ladies advice myself and my baby would be at a huge risk of still birth, preeclampsia, larger baby leading to birth complications and pre term labour. But my diet is working! I’m doing better and so is baby, so she can shove it!

These kinda of people actually motivated me to work hard and lose weight. I was scared of being as deluded as them when I grew up.

Fun fact: the word "Diet" comes from the greek Word "diatia" mening way of life" so we are doing the whole diet thing wrong by putting a time frame on it. It is supposed to be eating habits/rules you stick with for a LONG time and thus you need to be careful when putting together your diet so you do not go insane when trying to follow it for more than 1-2 months.
