I've said it before and I'll say it again: Give a man a studio apartment, internet, and some Ramen noodles, he'll figure out a way to be happy. Give a modern woman a mansion, and everything she asks for, she'll figure out a way to be miserable.

Let's be honest. She probably was "bored" with the relationship and felt like she can do better. What women don't understand is sometimes "bored" can equal peace. Like I can be perfectly happy with my woman at the house watching power together but to women it's "ughhh we don't ever do anything"

He even physically attacked her during one episode which I considered reason enough to leave him at the time. But she knew what kind of a man that she married and she stood by him through all of the frustration and pain as she vowed to. They grew old together, and he got better. I bawled in the end when he won the Nobel Prize and he thanked her for supporting him through every thing. That’s what marriage is, no one can tell me that it’s just a piece of paper.

My ex divorced me because we only had a 2 bedroom house and when I got hurt at work she had to go full time and for 2 months she made more than me for the first time in 7 years. I paid 90% of her college. She was also a stay at home wife and didn’t have to work. After the divorce, she married another guy who gave her a 4 bedroom house and everyone around her, especially women congratulate her for upgrading. Nobody shames her that she broke the covenant… she still goes to the same church we were at. I thought marrying an independent woman was fun but nobody counseled me the difference between a wife and a mercenary. My second marriage covenant/wife was #1 on my list. I think this is the main thing women need to hear. A lot of women are not happy with themselves so they think a man will make them happy.. and he may for a while but then she’s unhappy and she thinks marriage will make her happy .. and it does for a while but then she feels unhappy again and she thinks a baby will make her happy… and it will for a while and then she blames her unhappiness on the man, the marriage, the kids and leaves thinking being single again will make her happy (probably because she sees all her single friends living their “best” life and feels like she’s missing out on something)…. And it doesn’t.. I told a girl this before who was like this. You ask God for stuff thinking it will make you happy and you get it and still complain and sabotage it…. I’m sorry but “a product of your environment” is a cop out. My mom was a single mother until she remarried when I was in elementary school. I’m grateful for my stepfather because my biological father passed away and I never knew him. Instead of letting these things produce fear, I strived for better and stayed positive as I wanted to be a wife and mother (in that order). I am married with 3 kids born in wedlock and I will do whatever it takes to instill positive family values in my children and I’m happy I have a husband who values the same. Damn. Now it makes sense to me. You worded an ick of mine so well, Lili. I had once read a story about a woman who was 20-21 or so, and she found the perfect dude, even her spiteful to boyfriends parents liked this amazing boyfriend. He was everything to them. And she acknowledged she absolutely adored him, but she felt like she wanted to see the rest of the world. So she left him, on the premise of coming back later and finding a different man that could be there for her just as much as he would be. I never got an update on the situation My tummy feeling was that she was leaving an extraordinary man to chase an adventure. She gave up the best man possible and suitable in her life for an adventure. And since she was free to do so, she got on it and gave up the best husband material, even for her parents who never liked a single guy My feeling was... how can you do that? How can you leave your guy like that? You deserve better, man. But I felt selfish when I thought about that Now reading on your story, I'm like, of course! That's it! It's because things work for different people, and it'd probably explain why I'm not attracted to a certain style of women. I don't want to be controlling, I want to give them their freedom, but if they can't control their urges, then how do I know when they're going to flip flop on me? A boring lady who's only interested in getting the best for the family, asking about our days and the children's and man's wellbeing is someone I love to be around with. Ironically, I've found this in an African-American... US lady... while I'm from the Netherlands. It's insane how she was like, "This is my boyfriend, and I can be happy with him." She did not believe in the fairy tale. She was actually that person that you're describing to me. You deserve the best of the whole goddamn world and I'm happy your culture knows how to respect men. Amen!

Well after striking out in the blk community I found myself in Germany at the age of 19 with every other race prizing me for those same attributes. I ended up marrying my German wife at age 24. 2 kids later and I’m still proud of my decision. Don’t think you are limited blk men. So many other races prize you when your own don’t. Well the cute ones or ones with "assets" always have a belief that they can snag a great man who will take care of them at any time of their life. On the other hand A woman that society has deemed "ugly" or "undesirable" knows that if she she is fortunate to get a breadwinner willing to take care of her, she better not dump him for risk she will spend many years alone. What makes attractive women think they will always be in position to find a man who will take care of her is the attention they get from men at a young age. Attractive young females come across many good males at birth(daddy spoils her) then when she is in middle school the males there are coming after her hard. When so many males are throwing attention/validation and gifts to a woman without her having to do much but be pretty, it's easy to float into a mindset that their will always be at least one breadwinning man waiting to make her life easy. Truth is, As she ages, most breadwinning men her age have been tied to another woman who drained something from him(his money, his mind, his spirit) and he doesn't want to take on another woman like that. And an older woman is stubbornly set in her ways. Unfortunately it's a feminist mindset which is very unattractive to older men. Besides that, if he has kept his body presentable, a lot of younger women are open towards him. I personally have had no problem attracting women and at age 50, I have attractive older women orbit me or straight out shoot me their phone number ....but it's their mindset that prevents me from calling. The independent feminist mindset that women have been groomed by since they were little girls has "Hardened " women and is very unattractive.

This was not a sex issue that ended this relationship. It does not take ten years to figure out the sex isn’t satisfying. She is super picky and thinks it’s cute. I always say, BW don’t have standards, they have unrealistic prerequisites!! She is leaving something out and using bad sex as her default! Would love to hear his side of the story.

Now this was a good conversation. I'm 30 and single. And I don't want to be. I never thought I'd be single at this age....but I grew up in one of those households where we were taught, get your degree, worry about boys later, stay away from men, etc. I was a very obedient kid, and never took the time to go through that "rebellious" stage of bucking the system or thinking what if. It hit me really hard around 3-4 years ago that wow.....I CAN want something different. I DO have control over my life and what I want for myself. I am NOT ashamed of wanting to be in a relationship and get married. Since then, I've been actively working towards positioning myself for marriage. It has lifted a different weight off of my shoulders and I see more clearly now than I ever have. I wish I'd had this awakening much sooner, but at least I'm being proactive now. Being married does not have to mean losing yourself to your family and your husband. It should actually ENRICH your life. But thats where you have to do the work to ensure it actually happens and not just leave things to chance. Ladies, BLACK ladies especially.....please please wake up. Before it's too late. For your sake, for our sake, for our COMMUNITY'S sake.

That is so sad that so many black parents give their daughters that advice and don't care when they are unmarried later in life having to manage a household alone as a single woman It's hard for a woman to be alone in her 30's 40's 50's.
