What is going on?!
I could not for the life of me find any information, let alone an honest video about someone's first hand experience running 700lbs coil springs and a set of heavy duty leaf springs. So here is that video, I have been running this setup for about six months which gave me enough time to put together some honest feed back and share my thoughts for you all. I got the ARB kit for my Tacoma with the heavy coils in front and on the rear I used ARB Dakar leafs with the extra leaf. On my Chevy Colorado I installed a 6in kit from Rough Country with Fox 2.5 coil-overs. Those Fox coil-overs came with 500lb coils! They rode smooth around town but way too soft for offroad. Fox customer service was of no help so I upgraded the coils to 700# and Koni Raids. On the rear I went to Atlas Spring and got the 5-over Expedition leaf packs. No more lift blocks! Atlas Spring put my truck on the scales and weighed in at 5600lbs empty. Max is 6000lbs. Loaded I think the truck is well over the max but handles great!

Nice! I think with steel bumpers my Tacoma will ride even better, but for now it's also just fine both on and off-road!

I have around 300+ lbs (under 400) and I just measured the height at the front and back. From ground to fender well. 12:14 To my surprise, I still have a rake! About 1.5” higher in the back. I thought I would have a little sag. I just received by Bilstein 5100 and some Icon AAL’s. I should be up 2” in the front and up 1.75” in the back leaving me a little over 1” difference. Do you recommend a small difference like that? Is that still considered a “rake” if the height is only 1-1.5” higher in the back? I do like to have the front a little lower, but not much.

Its technically all optics the front fenders are actually higher than the rear so even if you leveled the truck the front would appear higher. I don't use measurements for that reason i just eye ball it. With the AAL it will sit level (for now) but that is what I had and over the years began to sag in the back. It's going to require some tinkering haha

@@quicksendtaco thanks for the insight. I’ll keep an eye out. It’ll be interesting to measure now and then check down the road. The only thing I see in the future as a major install are rock sliders. By then I’ll either upgrade the entire Leaf springs.

@@NVLunarTaco I think even with the new kit you have coming a full leaf pack would go a long way and then never have to change it up again. Bilsteins ride nice!
