Watch The Full Talk Here : • Why India Is Still A C...
This Colonial State is in fundamental conflict with the Indian civilization and its symptoms are everywhere, in the Collegium System of an elitist Judiciary, in the State sponsored linguistic apartheid, in the deep-rooted corruption intrinsic to every arm of the State and so on. By examining the legitimacy of a colonial apparatus imposed on the unsuspecting millions of India, Sankrant Sanu brushes out one of the most uncomfortable questions from under the carpet - are we Indians truly independent?
About the Speaker : Sankrant Sanu ji is an entrepreneur, writer and researcher based in Seattle and Gurgaon. His areas of interest include history, religious and cultural studies, entrepreneurship and technology. Sankrant has been actively involved in writing, consulting and social projects. His writings have appeared in various publications in India, USA and UK.

Formal business is only catering to ego. Who wants big and smart businesses , unless the stakes are big , complicated and capital intensive , with outside borrowings? No one wants to be enslaved. Indian culture is different and doesnt want dependence on any isms. It will flourish as an independent module . The topic is interesting. Formal business models are slavish and control oriented . Let business people not do postmortems. Instead let them focus on creativity and their business.

I see your point. One typically seeks formal business if they fear the tax man, need to engage another business that’s very formal (including banks,) or if the nature of thier business inherently means that there activities are reported (ie it’s a university or a medical firm) -and quite frankly this basically falls under fearing the tax man. However, your assertion suggests that coercive and enforcement measures (including the reduction of physical cash,) are the only ways the government can get more people to formalize. Being that the government is entirely funded by taxes, it will therefore have no choice but to increase such measures for it own sake. Regardless of how formalization is packaged, it will be pushed. It’s better we encourage the government to find a way to add value equal to or greater then the lost tax value to business they attempt to formalize, because formalization will be pushed on way or the other.. and also we can’t just have no government.

Iam not for excess Gov regulations but our society is not self-compliant self-regulated either. Suppose If Gov says no Income tax henceforth but just pay 2% tax on Bank fund transactions, with some exemptions obviously, we all would be in Que to withdraw our money and start paying in Cash to avoid even 2% tax, to the fullest possible extant. Its not that state is immoral and we are moral, after all the State is made of us!

Why the hell one have to go through such ordeal for registering a company. Now everyone have Adhaar card, simply make use of it and allow people to register through online portal. Why do I have to produce electricity bill? That mean a person from one place can't start a business at some other place, ridiculous.

rahul kolapkar I agree with you If you go into the formal economy they will just regulate you and Also that's why I don't believe this 6% unemployment rate because of the employment is generated in Informal economy and Mudra scheme is doing very well for this.

@@musclinepresentingtransgen8483 I think India should follow formal and informal gurukul system. For example , a student want to be a scientist then he should be train under the working scientists. A girl who want to be a fashion designer then she must be trained under working fashion designers and like all. This will save alot of time of settlement. And India will get working professionals not the job workers. This will lead India to number one.

The mentality of the ruling class in India has not changed at all from Mughal times. British simply added a layer of corruption and looters for a few years, and now the old Hindu system that kept the majority of Indians poor, uneducated, and suppressed has reinstated itself. Today the Indian Economic "Talk Shows" look like cat fights, and political shows are even worse. With third rate politicians running family businesses masquerading as political parties can improvement be expected? BJP is an exception, but with their success in centralizing power in the PMO, the effects will be exactly the same as when the venal corrupt Congress and other parties were running things. With accountability so far away in Delhi, the corruption and malfeasance will continue unabated, and local politicians cannot be held to account. Cities don't have empowered Mayors, so Indian cities are to a very large extent slums. Mumbai - the "Financial Capital" of a "Rising Superpower" looks and smells like a slum. As more of us have the opportunity to travel to other countries we should be asking why things are the way they are, and hold local politicians to account. But of course, that cannot happen. Cracking down on corruption will change things overnight, but that cannot happen without the political will to sacrifice for the country. That political will does not exist today.
