During one of the prereleases I attended. I pulled 2 Atraxa in the same pool. One was a Prerelease Foil and the other was a regular one.

When you show this next to grisselbrand it suddenly makes sense how much we underestimated this card.

Sold mine for $12 towards a wooded foothills a week or so ago. Ahh well, pulled her and Sheoldred the Apocalypse step and compleat out of the same set booster. Still got Sheoldred, still happy lol

The fact that people didn’t realize the power of the card during previews is actually nuts. It’s the best control finisher we’ve had printed since Chromium, and even that didn’t stabilize your life total or refill your hand on ETB. Plus as mentioned you can cheese it out with reanimation and Polymorph effects, it’s insane how game altering this is once it lands.

Pulled two in my box during prerelease, never expected it to spike this high.

It also see play in pioneer, in fires of invention deck. You can sacrifice a leyline binding to enigmatic incarnation to play atraxa for free from your deck.

Everyone thought this was bad in my play group and I told them it would get popular 🤣🤣

it's also nice that she is basically a second future sight tarmogoyf since she is teasing the new card type: battle, I am so hyped

I mean, Atroxa is just pretty sweet across the board

I'm also glad I opened an alternate art one in my prerelease (though it is terrible in sealed lol). There's also another thing to consider: it grabs Battles, the new cardtype. If Battles are insane, It'll get EVEN MORE powerful and, probably, MORE expansive...

Also won a handful of cEDH tournaments with a BadNauseum shell. After assuming it was just too slow, we’ve seen a large amount of games where there’s enough fast mana to get Atraxa out super early and start flickering with Displacer effects for mass value or instant wins.

When I got one in My prize packs for draft last week I was like, "oh that's cool, not expensive but I have a use for it." And now it's like. Woot price jump. Still not going to sell it lol

I don't see it in the same category as Massacre and Great Henge. It's a great commander, sure, but it doesn't get into the 99 of other decks as easily as those other cards. It may be powerful in legacy, but tbh, legacy gets broken every time. I'm not saying it's bad, in fact, it's a great card. But it just isn't $60 dollars good.

I built an Elesh Norn commander deck with Angel's in it due to my love for Avacyn. So if I can figure out the mana for her I might add her as well.

See Atraxa is good but it’s not as good as Storm Crow because if you pitch Atraxa to force of will you’re losing its ETB effect and stat line, while with Storm Crow there’s not much you’re losing
