Foden should not be on the left he should be a No 10 like he is at Man City, Watkins looked good when he came on at least he was trying to close players down, Eze looked decent when he came on should have started, Palmer should have started! He looked frustrated on the bench alongside Mainoo, Rice looked a shadow of the player that he is at Arsenal today!

Really interesting what the players said afterwards ad well . Walker used the phrase 'what if' as a reason for why they dont go for it more. Southgate has them all petrified of conceding. Being too deep feeds a lot of other problems, the team gets stretched out across the pitch they end up too far away from each other, players look isolated and lose the ball or run it into trouble

So unbelievably frustrating. Watched Spain vs Italy after that England match and it’s night and day with the way the Spain team press the ball when out of possession. Watched Germany again as well yesterday and the rotations and sharpness in their play is just so much quicker. It’s 100% down to the manager for me as the quality available in our squad is clearly good enough to compete to win an international trophy. When you think about each individual player’s best attributes, there are no real beneficiaries in this England team that shine. For just a couple of examples, Kane doesn’t have players running in behind around him like he’s had at Spurs & has now at Bayern, Foden is playing out of position so he’s not picking up the ball in the pockets he usually finds in City’s system, similarly Stones isn’t advancing into that base of midfield like we see him do week in week out. All of these players are top top level and Southgate isn’t getting the best out of literally any single one of them, it’s incredibly poor.

What baffles me is how some of these players can act so cocky and yet play with seemingly zero confidence. How are these two things be possible at the same time?

bellingham needs to be 8, foden needs to be 10 and gordon needs to be on the left it’s as simple as that, if we can see this stuff why can’t an england manager?

Spent two years watching Premiership games. The quality to choose from is the best any manager would dream of. His selections have been terrible. The team he is now selecting is beyond belief. Playing quality players out of position and keeping players in just because of what theyve done in the past. We look terrible and Bloody Southgate has not got 1 single clue how to set up a winning team. Its not annoying .ITS SAD to think what these players are being asked to do. Christ....

He never plays to our strength. We don't have suitable holding midfielders to play two at the same time. We've never looked particularly good under his tutelage, not just lately - beating a poor Germany in the last Euros is as good as its got under him.
