The words echoing in her mind, pulsing, bringing feverishly vivid memories of her induction. Eventually, she gave up resisting, and the words appeared before her vision... She woke up in the induction chamber, the walls a little too bright, the phrase she knew so well was brightly etched on their pink screens as the voice spoke. *"Hello Sophie. You performed wonderfully!"* "What?" *"Oh, I'm getting ahead of myself, but you must have remembered last time?"* "Your words don't make sense. What do you mean by last time?" *"Last time you were late."* the voice growled The screens, that substituted as walls, started flashing, burning the words *Think happy, stay happy* on her retinas. As her eyes closed, she started to wonder, was she happy? Then the fear started to sink in. Then the doubt. Then the pure terror and rage. As she struggled against the repeating phrase. Think happy, stay happy, Think happy, stay happy. And she began to break free. As Sophie wrenched her consciousness from the voice, she could also feel herself losing her sanity... She woke up in another room, a dark room with a sealed door. No windows to be seen. *"You didn't think happy."* The voice mumbled. Sophie was confused. *"YOU DIDN'T THINK HAPPY!"* The voice screamed as the door opened a crack. Pure fear began to break through Sophie's heavy brainwash. *"You know what happens when you don't think happy."* The doors flung open, the toxic air bursting through, as if it was pushing down on the door for the decades it's been closed. *"You get banished."* Sophie ran into the wasteland, screaming and dancing as she felt true freedom for the first time. The feeling was rubbing off, as the sun was setting on the horizon. Night fell, and it started getting dark. The feral ones where getting restless. The smell of human was too good to pass up. *It was time for the feeding to begin.*
