Installed a 10/32 version on a recent manufacture LN 101; huge improvement. Much easier to dial in now, and the brass looks great with the brass 101. I did need to take a very few passes over a stone to get it to fit. This 101 has always been the plane I wanted to like, but couldn't get into. Now, for a lot of things, like a light chamfer, it's the first thing I'll reach for.

It works with the Orange Jorgensen 60 1/2 from LOWES. It’s a while new plane now. Just ordered one for my Jorgensen 102. What a great way to improve an inexpensive plane

As a toolmaker who usually has to quote tooling by only looking at prints of varying quality, I understand this problem so much. Any job is always one minor thing away from becoming a whole redesign. Usually redesigns mid project or after it’s done thanks to things out of my control

Btw, these adjusters make it delightful to adjust LN tools. It’s such a small thing that makes the adjustment just perfect. Jeff, James, thanks for thinking on the small things

I ordered a high angle frog for my LN #4. Even though the new frog was made by Lie-Nelson, it would not work on my LN plane made around 2005. Customer service at LN said that small changes had occurred in the manufacturing over the years, and the differences were enough that the frogs were not interchangeable. I returned the frog and used some of the money to purchase an antique Norris

So, I hadn't realized the Jorgensen 102 is more like a LN 101. Still Worked with the Old LN 102 Style adjuster although comically large for a plane so small. 😂

The original Reed adjusters also work great on the 140 and low angle Jack from lie-Nielsen

I totally understand where you are coming from. A couple months ago I replaced the iron on my older block plane. I installed it and, guess what, the slot for the adjuster was not only longer but wider. REALLY SLOPPY but managable. I checked and I did order the correct one. So, in addition to your other production issues, add the fact that if someone replaces the blade, the new iron may be slightly different than your old one. So if you bought the adjuster knob to fit your old iron, it may not fit your new one. AAARRRGGGGGG.

maybe have Free 3d print of the thread . Customers can print (or have it printed) both threads and see which one is for their plane if they arent sure.

Huh, now I wanna check out the thread pitch and such on my 102. It’s a cast iron body version from like 2009, so I wonder if the thread is the old 10-32 pitch

I had one person tell me the smaller one would fit the 101. I just have not tried yet.

The 101 has a 10-32 thread ( at least some do) so we do have an adjuster that should fit. Please let us know if your 101 has a different thread.

I believe they are a copy of the LN planes so my guess is yes. What are studs? If they are 1/4-28 then they might work. Please let us know what you find out.

This would be a fantastic video for the new generation so they can understand how much work there is in any type of engineering. If they use this, we might have less issues (problems) trying to use or adjust any kind of equipment.
