See my thought process and trouble shooting techniques. There are many reasons why this tiller could be seized solid.
In response to numerous subscriber's requests, in this video I take you through the repair from beginning to end. See how I diagnose the issue and determine what is wrong with the engine.
Do you like to do it yourself? Together we're going to find out what the problem is with this small engine. Let's go...

Simple and basic, do it yourself (DIY) tutorials to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment.
I do my best to teach you how I easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like chainsaws, weed eaters, string trimmers, grass trimmers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, strimmers, brush cutters, leaf blowers, or four stroke, four cycle units like lawn mowers, pressure washers, generators, ride on mowers that need parts installed or replaced, I’m your guy.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many years so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to pass on to you. I want Steve’s Small Engine Saloon to SAVE YOU TIME, FRUSTRATION AND MOST IMPORTANT, MONEY!

What i really like about your tutorials Steve is you cut the bits that don't matter out and you are good at knowing what we mere mortals don't really need to know or see like the engine removal for example !!! Well done my friend as i have now said many times you are good NO very good at teaching folk what to do in great detail. I have now watched quite a few Vids "playing catch up" and i can honestly say I have not been fed up once !!!! Full credit to you as i spent most of my time at school looking out of the window due to in my opinion teachers that could not teach/hold the audience's attention !!!!!!!

I've been watching stuff like that on KZfaq for awhile now. and I'm surprised how easy most of the fixes are. I'm watching and, I'm like. "are you serious, that's it". now I'm able to fix most of the problems myself. thanks for quick and easy information. you've probably helped a ton people like me. where we're not wasting mine or your time with a problem, with a little common sense. we could have it fixed in no time, and be on my way.

Another very informative video. Nice job showing the troubleshooting process. Too bad for that customer. It's a shame the repair parts cost more than a new tiller ! Just goes to show you, that sometimes, even with small engines, that it's sometimes better off, financially, to just buy another piece of equipment, than try to fix a broken one.

I recently stumbled across your channel and subscribed. This video exposed one of my pet peeves, the price of parts !! I don't care if your talking motorcycles, chainsaws or weed eaters parts are crazy expensive. It's sad that so many easily fixable machines end up in the scrap pile because its cheaper to replace than repair. Anyhow, keep up the good work, I am enjoying your videos.

Hey Steve I just did this exact repair for 70 bucks 6 months ago in 2023. New crank, rings, and jug. The parts were more than likely from China.😮
