As a young kid who grew up in the communist hotspot of Malabar region and where murders and beatings were day to day event, I was always advised by elders to leave the state and find work anywhere but there. They used to say, hardworking and smart Malayalis are found outside Kerala and the lazy, idiots stay back to play politics.

I come from East India. I had many opportunity to work with people from many states including Karnataka, Tamil Nādu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana etc . What I observed is people from Tamil Nādu and Telugu states are very dedicated and they put effort. While I didn't see these traits in Malayali people. They always look for results, but don't put efforts needed for that and only gives advises and morals. In short comparatively Malayali people are lazy . Yeah, I should not stereotype this, but this is my experience.

Congress ruled for 35 years and Communists ruled for 40 years. Let me point out to Shashi Taroor, who advocates for wealth redistribution, that Communists had confiscated the wealth of wealthy Keralites and redistributed it. When Congress was ruling Kerala, the debt crisis was worse than what is today. The only sources of income for the state government are Lottery, liquor, petrol cess, and Hindu temples. Today, all those wealthy people live like beggars but those who received the wealth also are in huge debt. Notably, I have to also tell you that the wealth of communist leaders was not confiscated and land parcels have now reached the hands of Muslims. Today, in Kerala, there is ZERO agriculture, ZERO manufacturing, ZERO technology- parks, ZERO colleges for good students who want to excel, and ZERO public hospitals. All good students after 12+ move to nearby states/ nations for higher education. There is ZERO job So everybody moves to other states/nations for jobs. The Hindu as well as Christian populations have been falling hugely at an alarming rate. They are also shifting residence to other states/countries where their children are settled. About 50 lakhs, of migrant workers are in Kerala. About 18 lakhs have brought their families and admitted children in schools, to settle down in Kerala, permanently. 90% of them are reportedly from Bangladesh and West Bengal. Kerala is in a deep debt crisis. There is no way out.

Why are my Indian mates going to India and returning to comment that life in India is better but but we won't be able to have their money _ is it the Gulf money? Something seems not right. Without even watching the video I can telll you. Being from Kerala I can say that the Communist ideology has spoiled Kerala. You can never do an enterprise in Kerala because of this mindset in people. Most corrupt officials who don't work at all. Unions who are always a headache. All this has lead to no investment. I have had to run away as well. Had to withdraw all my investments that I accidentally made in Kerala.

There is no economic crisis. Only resource sharing issues between centre and state.
