It's worse than that. Sadow came into the Great Hyperspace War right after fighting a civil war, not securing his hold over his empire or rebuilding his forces. And, as you said, he knew nothing about the Republic's strength. He never made a single good choice.

sith would become overconfident from the belief that their ideology of accepting prime instinct of emotions ultimately feed upon by the raw unyielding side of the dark side. you could say that fear was often used by the sith and over confidence but the best learned patience or (courage lack of better word ) of fear to instill their emotions. it plays well into the teaching of the jedi. which in legends if you read a bit has a nice back and forth of contradiction adding to good story telling (yes fuck you Kathleen Kennedy)

I've been saying this for a long time. His idea of each sith lord being more powerful than the last through the rule of 2 is flawed at best, and delusional at worst. The sith simply never gained the overwhelming power Bane had envisioned. In one comic, Sidious describes how he visited Korriban to try and regain lost knowledge from the ancient sith lord ghosts, and he says they nearly killed him and mocked him. One weak link, miscalculation, or premature decision resets the power of the sith back to zero under the rule of 2. Darth Vectivus is the best known example, as he spends his entire life as a sith studying the dark side nexus that revealed his force sensitivity, and simply died in his old age of natural causes, never being usurped by his apprentice.

@@mondaysinsanity8193 the sith had ups and downs through the eons. Without the rule of 2, they may have had a revival. Even without the title of Darth, which largely lost its meaning, the number of people that received training as apprentices by sith lords was more than 2 throughout the most recent timeline. Palpatine had 3 canon apprentices. Vader trained LOTS of people, and cloned Starkiller, his most powerful apprentice. The inquisitors were sith in all but name as well.

If u read the star wars knight errant comics series u see how fked up the sith were ruling/destroying planets and plotting against each other and this was during bane’s time and that baneclearly shows the sith were not capable to ruling the galaxy and however he did the favor by destroying it all
@rebeccamiller9310
@rebeccamiller9310 Жыл бұрын
@@kotanovakota Bane could have remade the sith order to be more cohesive. The rule of 2 does nothing to stop the backstabbing, and it was in fact built into the ideology. At least before this, a dark lord could train several acolytes and apprentices up to sith lord without necessarily having to be defeated by them. The parallel to the jedi order made more sense to me. Under that system, dozens or hundreds of sith could die simultaneously without threatening their extinction. Maybe if all sith lords under the rule of 2 were like Darth Vitiate, and capable of surviving through all sorts of extraordinary means, only able to be killed by someone truly outclassing them in force power, I would consider the rule of 2 viable. Immortality is lost to the present sith though, and dark side corruption means their longer lifespans aren't a solution to any of their problems.

I grant that Sadow was careless, but to be fair every sith empire that fought against the republic fought with less resources and manpower, they also lose much from betrayal, Darth Marr confirms this several times in Swtor. The Triumvirate preyed on a broken galaxy. Exar Kun made some damage but couldn't defend his Headquarters in Yavin 4. Revan and Malak turned the republic against itself and used the rakata technology, but again they fought a war-weary galaxy. Sidious also turned the republic on itself, he managed to rule the galaxy but lost for playing soap opera with the Skywalkers. The sith had five thousand years to learn from Sadow's mistake and still they kept losing, that's because the darkside comes with arrogance, Nadd, the other ancient sith and most of the bane line, never fought against the republic, their golden age is built in the shadows of peace, and peace is a lie, a the true sith would rather face the danger than resemble the jedi.

I would personally say naga sedow was not a terribly ludicrious sith as is stated, as his plans was actually smart if you look at it on his perspective, you see a republic that is seemingly believing the sith as mere bed time storys like the boogyman as if you read in the comics as one guard stated as such, if he could cut off the heart of the republic quickly as is in his attack on coruscant, all he would need to do was just kill off the leadership and there would be a massive power vacuum for the republic and would leave it un organized, making a conquest much more easy, though his downfall was the fact he put in charge a person who still had attachments and in the comics PUT HIM IN CHARGE OF ATTACKING THE PLANET HE HAS GROWN ATTACHED TOO witch is very stupid in my opinion but minding over all of that, his thinkings was pretty good though the main issue was that the battle of coruscant needed to be won or the war was lost, yes it was a bit of a stupid move to take all of the sith empires ships for a battle but naga needed a complete victory with the lowest chance of losing, though the most mediocre sith in my opinion would actually be darth gravid as he tried to mix both light side and dark side teachings the ultimately drived him insane and made him the weakest sith. But ya in the end, he should not really be spectured as one of the great's in sith history but he was not a very terrible and ludicrious sith as is stated

Sidious is an embarrassment. Kills his master while he slept, Gets credit for killing the Jedi order and ending the Republic, when he just so happened to be the final piece to the puzzle, he got a clone army made for him not his idea, what makes Sidious so special and powerful, nothing he was a little bitxh like Malek nothing more nothing less didn't earn a thing. Would people be prasing Dooku if Obi and the Jedi acted sooner when Dooku told Obi that a Sith ran the senate and Dooku ordered order 66

Sidious was a lucky embarrassment. He just so happens to be at the right place at the right time. A lot of his accomplishments can be chalked up to pure luck.

1. Darth Sidious killed his master because that's how the rule of two works, the apprentice kills their master when they become expendable. There's also a lot more explanation in the Darth Plagueis novel. 2. Sidious gets credit for killing the Jedi Order because the Jedi at that time didn't care about anything besides politics. They refused to help planets the directly allied with the galactic senate. And they were extremely arrogant and ignorant. 3. Sidious got a clone army through his master, Darth Plagueis.

@@Reasoning1445 yes its part of the rule of 2s process however the masters supposed to be killed in combat and honorably. This is what solidifies the next gen of sith being more powerful. Its how Darth Band wanted , its creator. The rule of two now is corrupted.
