I feel like she just needs a unique strength. It would be interesting to make her the character you pick if u want to push towers. Maybe something as simple as “if the w ricochet hits a building, she gets another charge of it” That way she excels at pushing towers down and diving.

Delightful and insightful, as usual. Got into this channel when I saw "why no one plays Heimerdinger," my main. Anyway, things that could be done to make Sivir more competitive: Passive: what you said works well, can't think of anything better. Q: Every hit should cut minorly into armor, but hitting twice with it triples the armor reduction for 2 seconds. W: I like what you said and it could work, but different recommendation for a bit of burst and easier waveclear; passive: every AA bounces once/twice for half or 1/3 damage. Active: the next AA is a Q that bounces once or twice, prioritizing champions and also shredding armor. E: Instead of 360 degree shield, a wall shield that lasts a bit longer but only from one direction. R: Keep the same but also apply your own passive to everyone else in your AoE circle, so: "bonus MS and AS, and also MS and AS when landing abilities."

She’s my top mastery champ, level 387 so I play a bunch... I love playing her for her wave clear, spell shield, and the q is really fun and you can get some nice kills with it! She also scales well and helps the team with her ult

Fucking love it, we've come full circle. You're first suggestion, make w a toggle, was literally her original ability. This would be a revert back to her early days, and honestly, would probably work better with the modern manamune and essence reaver than it did back then

Ironically, I recall Sivir used to have a toggle for her W, then Riot updated Sivir to have the enhanced autos to try to boost her damage in laning phase via AA-cancelling. One of Sivir's problems that you also didn't really touch on is that she has an extremely low AA range on top of her lack of AA boosting steroids, so she ends up feeling pressured to poke with Q until it's safe to fight. I would change the passive to allow Sivir to bounce attacks to champions only, though the damage reduction from bouncing would still apply at a higher rate than current W. The W would function the same and would allow bounces to minions while either enhancing anti-champion bounce damage or move the attack speed bonus from the ult to W. The movespeed bonus from the passive could be kept, but I'd rather sacrifice that for more AA range, which enhances the value of Sivir's E without changing it by allowing her to position safer than before. The ultimate itself would need to either last longer, or be more potent (such as letting the initial speed boost last the full duration instead of decaying), or give additional new support-like effects like a team damage buff in order to feel relevant. Although the current ult can be replaced by items, it can also be seen as a money saver to allow players to spend their gold on other items to boost the team.

I would love for you to make a video in this series about gangplank. He is a really strong top laners who can become a raid boss late game and still have decent laning. The only problem with him is that he is really hard for new players, but in the hands of an experienced gp main he can solo carry lots of games. If he becomes more popular he can In my opinion one of the strongest champs in the game if someone takes the time to practice and learn.

I really enjoyed the video as someone who mains this champ and has tried to one trick her into this season to climb it's interesting but I do have to agree with the points you've made in the video being one of the last stat check marksmen and having less in her kit that you have to build around with the new items this season I think the suggestions you gave for her kit even though you didn't give much mind to them as you said were good. I do think that she's starting to fit into a more niche Marksman roll currently in the fact that she's starting to build the way that varus used to build with a high lethality build going dusk blade and manamune, just completely ditching attack speed and crit in favor for lethality and ability haste.

I actually love playing her. She's so simple to learn yet so complex to master. (This is my opinion, don't take it seriously)

Recently found your channel and I'm really enjoying these Why NO ONE / EVERY ONE plays: Champion videos I'd be really excited about one for Sona (no one) and Seraphine (everyone) maybe in a long video discussing both at the same time or a two-part video where champs are seperate but the discussions are linked to one another. Because I'm a Sona OTP myself, I safetly have to say that Sera plays really differently not like everyone think she does, the feeling of auras is completely gone and Sera W is more of a last-resort ability than to sustain. But in general Sona is somewhat of a double-edged sword because the reason why so few people like her is the same why those people like her: the Basekit / Auras with Q, W and E.

I started to play Sivir as my main champion in bot some days ago. I decided it because she is simple to play (good for me who is beginning play bot) and because her build with lethality and manamune is so great. To explain, you rush mamune on Sivir what will let you use her Q more often. After I rush Draktharr, Ionian Boots, and Edge of Night, Draktharr invisible make Sivir avoid being focused once you get a kill or assist. The ability haste from mythic passive and Ionian Boots let you cast Boomerang Blade in a shorter time. Also, having two spell shields has never been a problem to a champ. After, I like to rush Serylda's Grudge. Siver can apply it slow twice in the same opponent with one Q. All of that with Dark Harvest runes let Sivir disintegrate squish champs with half of it HP with one Boomerang Blade. I still remember the game that I deal 95.354 of damage and get 33 kills by using this Sivir's build.

Lethality Sivir: Allow me to introduce myself

I like to use Manamune+Duskblade sivir a lot. It's why I picked her up, because she's such a unique build for a botlane. You primarily trade with your Q which can burst enemies down, and your W is good waveclear. You build AD+Haste after that, and you can get out Qs every 3 seconds, with a very safe 5s cooldown on your spellshield at endgame.

You can start by making her W being sort of a on-hit effect as you said and maybe an slow if you hit with your Q twice to a target and that's sort of all she needs.

By timing your W right, you can auto-attack cancel to do 2 very fast aa. Pairing this with Press the Attack, your damage overall, along side with the ability to shutdown a critical ADC damaging ability, will be enough to win lane. Also, although the movement speed from her passive can be underwhelming, it allow Sivir to kite abilities a bit better than a fair number of champions. She also benefits against champions that requires to land all of their abilities to secure a kill due to her ability to negate an important part of their kit. I remember playing a game where I use E as an enemy Darius used his pull. By negating this ability, I was able to maintain distance from the rest of his combo and whittled him down to death.

My 2 favorite bot laners were typically tristana and sivir. My favorite thing about sivir was actually stacking a few MS items and so long as you kept passive up you were zooming around like zeri or you could sell boots and still maintain the mobility that most other adc's have with boots at 6 items. Navorri quickblades in theory would be a good item but falls flat because it fails to address her mana costs, lack of armor pen and range, or the fact she hits like wet noodle if you don't have 2 BFS and/or dirk+ grade damage items. Therefor it is often too late or not within itemslot budget because after you address all of that you often need additional survivability to compensate for how close to frontlines you have to be. Spell shield used to actually feel like it had skill expression behind it before there were 8 things a teamfight that you needed to use it on just to consistently work from front to back because the lack of range is really sticking out like a sore thumb at this point. Giving this a cd refund on successful block and/or on crit would go a long ways to returning it to this point. The bouncing portions of her should probably be inducing vulnerability to her Q/autos probably by they themselves shredding a flat armor value thereby aiding in her ability to finish her mop up of the backline should she reach it as she will probably recieve far more damage than have effectively dealt in most teamfights today I agree that the passive part of her R should probably be moved into some other part of her kit, there are far too many duelist adc's who can all in her before her waveclear is online and most of the rest of the roster will outrange/outtrade her. I like it as baked in part of her E. Putting armor shred on the back half of Q sounds like something that could take over the passive portion of her R.

If her W was a toggle, she would feel so much better. It's kind of like Asol, where he feels like he should be a constant damage but with his new W he's like burst and run. If she were a toggle, it would feel like it would do something more than three little autos.

New passive: Whenever you damage an enemy champion with an ability (boomerang blade triggers both ways) Sivir gains temporary attack speed and range for each target hit for 3 seconds. Half of Q's mana cost is refunded if both ways hit and the tip of the return point deals true damage and gives a very short burst of movement speed. You could go in, throw your Q, run out with the movespeed and use this self peel to deal with enemies from a saver distance than normal (sort of like a Caitlyn with extra steps) but it would make for a more dynamic playstyle.

I want Sona to be next as she’s kinda become overshadowed by literally everyone including Sona 2.0. She has the same health as yuumi, her best item archangels got nerfed super hard, and she feels way weaker than any other support. They nerfed her to keep her out of the top lane, but in doing so nerfed her to be useless if her adc dies and jungler isn’t there for a gank. She has less healing and shields than seraphine but it costs more. Athenes got removed making the AP heavy enchanter less powerful, but all mage items got higher prices. Her tools are all much weaker than they should be, she has less health, and she has only one long cooldown cc making imperial mandate worthless on her.

I think it would be cool if her ricochet hits dealt on hit dmg, this would allow her to more effectively build on-hit items so she can specialize her build to the game around her.

I may be the odd one out here, but before Death's Dance was changed (as in when it was just damage, CDR, and passive), I built that on her as her sustain item because her Q and W (including crits) both allowed her to sustain very well in teamfights provided she wasn't CCd. That aside, I think something that could work well for her without changing much would be if her Q slowed to a stop before speeding back up to return to her; it seems like a waste for her Q to track her movements as it returns if she can't really move to use it. Could also open potential options for zone control and maybe other mechanical changes like increased MS for the duration of a basic ability.

Oh just watched the video, really great. In my opinion Sivir should be reworked a bit... Her passive could be a stacking movespeed buff like +10 and stacks 5times so slower than most at first but faster at max stacks. Q could apply true damage on return like Ahris. W could be a spammable auto boost but no increased damage just more bounces like 3 to 7 but if there are fewer enemies around then the it can bounce back (I think it doesnt do it rn). E could be extended like for 2sec she absorbs attacks, spells and effects if it not used up then for 3sec absorbs attacks and spell damage then at 4sec only absorbs like 50% at all cases she restores mana but reduced every second the shield is active. R could be a massive teamfight aura when she increases attackspeed, movespeed and ability haste for everyone by 10 to 15% for 4 to 6 seconds. Yea I would love to see this so forward this to Rito if you liked it. 😃

Love your videos! I'd like to share my thoughts on possible changes for Sivir. Her passive could be changed by adding a stack mechanic like Irelia or Ezreal where instead of getting on-hit movement speed she gets bonus movement and attack speed every time she casts an ability. Her Q is honestly fine as it is, I don't know what can be done to change it. Her W should be moved to her ult and be changed into a passive ability that grants on-hit damage with an active component that allows her to apply some form of cc or debuff. For example, the active could cause her autos to reduce the target's armor by a small amount for a few seconds. Her E could be revamped to no longer give mana but have it's cooldown heavily reduced if she successfully blocks a certain kind of ability. For example maybe the cooldown is reduced only if she bocks cc abilities idk was a quick thought Her new ult passively grants her autos that have limited bounce counts. This idea I got from a hero from Dota called Luna who has an ability that grants her bounces on her autos that have limited bounce instances. The more leveled up the ability, the greater the bounce count. The active for this ult could function in a way that grants her team a smaller movement speed bonus that it currently grants in exchange for removing the auto bounce limit for the duration. Of course, being an ultimate passive, this means that the bounces have to be different in damage values, probably weaker without the active and maybe stronger than they currently are if she presses her ult.

You can also give her boomerang a similar effect as gnar's. If you catch it you get mana refund and the cooldown reduced.

One more thing that didn’t get mentioned much in the video is her decreased auto range compared to other adcs. I think her auto range is the same as kindred’s, which is slightly lower than the rest of the adc roster. Initially, this made sense bc Sivir’s Q and W boosted her wave clear so much, but nowadays, when everybody can out range, out run, and out damage her, the short auto range makes it very hard to take advantage of her supposed strengths. One good, simple change I think would be to simply make her auto range the same as other adcs. I think another interesting change would be to put her w on her passive, her ult on her w, and give her a new ultimate entirely. What I mean is, maybe instead of being a toggle or being a cast, her w (old) becomes “after attacking x amount of times, every auto becomes empowered”, but with less bounces than it does currently. Ofc it would be weaker than her current w, but putting it on her passive frees up one ability slot, which is one of the issues she has in that her abilities don’t feel worth the mana or the space. Instead, having her ult on her w would open up more access to utility sooner into the game rather than being gated at lvl 6. Of course, since she has two basic utility abilities, it makes the most sense to give her ultimate a damaging ability. Maybe some kind of big burst with a little bit of crowd control? Another alteration to her q could be “if enemies are struck by the return, they will be slowed a certain amount”. This would give her some much needed self peel. I think her e is the only ability that’s good the way it is. It does the job it’s supposed to do and it does it well enough.

I really like this video, i played sivir a lot in the past (well "a lot" compared to other champs i played at least (shes one of my few lvl 7 champs)), and i totally agree to everything you said. One big problem i always encounter when playing sivir is the laning phase, especially in the early game. I know how to play her well, but my supports rarely every to know that too, starting to play very agressive, thinking i could outtrade a vayne, kaisa or whatever and then blaming me for not playing well enough, while i have to do my best to explain that sivir cant fight like most adcs. Or another example when i loose a 1vs1 as 7/0 sivir against a 1/4 vayne, which used her ult and heal, blaming me again to play bad (didnt have a joice in that moment but to fight her cause i got catched overextendet). I would really wanna see how that guy would fight that any better xD. Imo she lacks the duel-power every single modern adc has (lucian, kaisa, vayne, caitlin, ashe,....) , which makes her only really playable with an team, which knows how to play with/around sivir. (experiences as low gold player, which mostly plays normal games). If you want to be challenged, play with an aggressive playing autofill support, i give it a 80% chance that he will loose the lane by engaging while hoping you outdmg the enemie, ending up blaming you for not winning that trade. ^^

I love playing Sivir in the bot lane. Her q can be pretty good poke and when combined with her W, your wave clear can be pretty good. Speaking of, your W lets you start hitting the minion wave while still hitting the tower, and your E gives you such safety from jugglers and supports while also restoring your mana allowing you to stay in lane a bit longer. Shes a real good low ego champion and a good pick up for new players to learn the role of adc before grabbing some of these newer and more complicated adcs

My rework idea: - Passive: Now also grants some Ability Haste while in combat. - Q: Can recast after a brief delay of casting it to immediately turn the blade around. - W: Same but the main attack also passively ricochets off champions hit at no cost. - E: Now also gives her an ability to cast temporarily after a successful block. Could be a steroid or an AoE slow or something. - Ult: Buff movespeed or reduce the dropoff of it.

I think it would be cool for her w to be time based instead of a set # of autos. Also, if while her w is active her auto attack animations don’t cancel her movement. That would give her some skill ceiling by being able to kite great with it active.

question: what if aphelios' chakrams were to be put in sivir's ulti? The Movement speed gain would still remain, but the chakrams will augment her Q by having the smaller chakrams follow the first cast but with a decrease in damage and W in such a way that the number of ricochet stacks increase in a given amount and when the chakrams return it gives her a shield (?). Her ulti causes her spell shield to have 2 stacks. The reason for using the chakrams of aphelios as the basis is that i do believe that it really fits her style, design wise. or you can just have her ult become a area of effect (kind of like an enlarged Q? ) which,when inside, she can cast ricochet with a decreased cd and no mana inside and she her q procs four times (1:0.5:1:0.5) and her spell shield has 2 stacks (yes I do think that her spell shield needs to have 2 stacks don't @ me) and at the end of the ulti, she can throw the enlarged Q at a fixed distance.

Her gameplay should match her lore... In her lore she's a assassin/bounty hunter that people can hire for quests or bounty. Her kit should match it. She should be a burst marksman that could mark targets or something for "bounty"

I'm actually a Sivir main. She has my most playtime and I really do enjoy playing her. I think her Q is great for surprise burst along with Q and W both being good wave clears. Having a spell shield on command is also a good ability that can really turn an engagement. Also, in the newest season I have been playing a Dark Harvest, Lethality build that can make even some tanky enemies disappear with the Q since it hits twice if it gets both procs. I also just think she is really fun.

Ad assassin sivir with ravhydra, manamune, duskblade or trinityforce, and seraldas grudge works to compensate her down fall. While it puts all of her damage into her q grudges slow, duskblades passive, ravhydrasz omnivamp, and manamunes mana increase and damage based on mana actually fixes her issues. Trinityforce over duskblade gives her a spellblade, cdr, and a better passive too so that works out as well

Would changing Ricochet a time based ability like Kogmaw W work as well? I feel like it would be way better, and I don't think numbers would need to be nerfed too much with that change because it wouldn't be a permanent static shiv buff, just have it's temporary aspect improved

I'm gonna admit Sivir is one of my mains and it started being one because I got the Sivir Pax Neo skin, I fell in love for her afterwards. Why I like her? Easy to farm with her, her shield is really nice if used correctly (you can dodge zed's ult if you use it when he jumps at you for example). It's true there are adcs with more dmg than her, but her ult brings so much utility for chase and for escape and I wouldn't say she doesn't have dmg as you can build her with lethality (which is one of her better builds atm). You always have so many options with her build-wise and mastery-wise

Giving sivir something more like Gnar's three hit move speed bonus to help her kite (albeit not as strong because that bonus is pretty big on gnar), or perhaps she needs something like vayne but on hit physical instead of true damage. But her age certainly shows and a total rework could bctually be valuable to here because she is quite synonymous within the community, just not like Lux or Ahri.

back when i was learning bot in season 6/7 i belive i was literally spamming only sivir, so many 1v5/2v5 penta kills kiting people like mad with ultimate and her passive and i belive also W movements speed(wasn't W giving her bonus ms, while rikochets where mid-air ?). I personally don't like the toggle Idea because It feels really good to use her ricochet as an auto-reset. It might be better to instead of it being 3 auto attacks, it uses a duration system where auto attacks within a certain amount of time will ricochet. This would make her more powerful the more attack speed she has. I would also suggest that the cooldown starts on cast instead of after the duration is used.

Sivir has a very easy to land poke that when you build full lethality, chunks enemies. Time your shield right and you have a banshee's veil.

Give Q armour shred on both passes but less on first and more on second, making second the maximum, eg it doesnt stack for both passes, but it will deal more dmg if both land. I agree that her ult passive can be changed to match both W and Q, giving it more meaning. lastly during her ult duration give her bonus critical dmg. If this wanted to be gated or scalable, they could tie it to the critchance like cait's passive. eg more crit dmg as you gain more critchance. This also gives it a maximum value which can be controlled for balance. With this she can characterised as the true crit champion, maintains a low range, plays front to back whilst still having large AoE effects, truly hits the 6item hypercarry state and gives more meaning to spacing out her abilities to maximise the AS bonus on spell casts. Might need to increase her CD's to justify it, but i dont think she needs bonus dmg added to anything, maybe just % reduction of ricochet dmg to match the increased crit dmg with ult spike.

Sivir is one of those champions that really need a rework

Sivir is completely fine, but if there was one change I would add to her, is a slight displacement CC on her Q. When you hit them on the way out, they are knocked slightly away from you, and on the way back they are knocked slightly towards you. This makes it both better as you now have a form of CC, but also riskier as if enemies are willing to take the return damage, they now have a tool to help gapclose on you, allowing for much more skill expression and counterplay at the same time.

Very informative video. I main ADC and she is by far the one I play the most (reached 300k Mastery Points). I agree with everything what you say. I have the idea that Sivir‘s passive should be something about generating more gold since that would fit her character and lore really really well. Maybe they could move the ults passive to her W, that would make more sense and then when ulting, you will gain the attack speed for the full duration. I also had the idea that hitting Q will shred the opponents armor and additionally I hope they will make her Q cast time scale attack speed because it feels clunky to use her Q while attacking and it would actually boost her dps a lot.

Honestly I only picked up Sivir fairly recently but she really grew on me. I love her q it does a good amount of poke damage even if thrown through the minion wave and e ... ugh it's so great! I absolutely HATE to play against hard cc enemy supports ... especially ones that hook you ... but with her spell shield she can just ignore them completely. Sure, you have to be very precise with the timing but after a bit of practice I'm no longer afraid of Blitzcrank or Pyke at all. I just like her simple yet effective kit.

idk if you remember, but Riot has already failed once already with orb affects on Ashe. I wouldn't mind a orb affects in this game if they were done properly, meaning, pressing the hotkey designated for it allows you to manually cast the ability while having it toggled off. They need to make sure that the only way to auto toggle off/on is by right clicking the ability. Orb affects lose all meaning if you can't manually cast the ability. They didn't work like this in LoL originally when Ashe had her frost arrows as a toggle ability. I talked to Riot about it among other things a long time ago, and they did something about it, but.. yeah anyways

I like Sivir and I use her to better survive in lane against champs like Morgana. And I really like her auto-attack-reset, together with her q, its a surprising amount of burst!

I do main Sivir, basically because I hate the idea of relying too much on a support giving pressure. I know that no matter the support I get I can ditch pressure early and a block any of the engager support core CC at a right timing. I enjoy to play her the most next to long-range poking support, though, so we can pressure the opponent and stack Dark Harvest freely by spamming abilities. It's fun, but yeah trying to face a Kai'sa ,Tristana or Samira is just painful with how easy they can get on you and deal twice your damage.

A possible on hit build would be really fun. She needs a proper passive and some kind of skill potential,seeing how much overloaded other champs are.

I think the armour shred on her boomerang seems quite appealing, as it takes her kit to a "the more people she can hit, the better she performs. Shred with boomerang, then bounce AA" Even if it's not an armour shred, to avoid balance issues, it could at least be a temporary mark that her bounces can detonate, %hp magic damage, perhaps?

I think the saving grave of Sivir is her passive, fleet of foot. Yes, you have to get very close enemies to effectively dps has her, but the movement speed bonus you get everytime you hit someone makes her a master at aggressive kiting. Being able to go in with ult speed and dodging oncoming abilities while still dpsing effecitvely is very very hard to master though. Her simple design makes her reward simple adc basics, like positioning, auto timing and kiting, to a point where you need a full mastery of these elements to truly master Sivir. Granted this also applies to most other adcs, but to a much lower extent because they all have abilities that allow easy repositioning or have easy to apply damage that kinda nullify the need to perfectly manage your autos. Because of this, I feel like Sivir is very very hard to play well, but doing so feels massively rewarding, and very intense because of her very aggressively designed kit. She may not be the best adc to climb, as her toolkit is limited, but she's arguably the best to train adc essentials.

Sivir has always been one of my lowkey faves but I don't play her anymore just because I feel like she doesn't do enough. Thanks for highlighting her tho! I hope more people might pick her up because of this :3 - an edit here, her Ricochet used to be a toggle way back in the day and did exactly what you proposed the problem with it was that she could just build Bloodthirster and was borderline unkillable mid/late game plus could permashove waves

I think reworkong her spell shield would be interesting. Increasing the cooldown but allowing it to stack up to 2/3 times

Id like to see her numbers changed around, give her some AP ratios. Change some of her mana costs or increase her mana per level. Id like to see her spell shield Auto-refresh if it procs. And yeah the ricochet toggle would be nice. These changes sound pretty powerful but I think its important to make a fun kit and change the numbers after.
