Justice Chandrachud has given controversial statements before as well. I don't fully trust him. I agree the government's reasons to not elevate Adv Saurabh Kirpal as HC Judge are wrong. And I also know he is an excellent advocate. But no one is talking about the nepotism in judiciary here. He is son on a previous CJI just like CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice BV Nagrathna and many more. And please also note, recently in Rajasthan HC, Dr Nupur Bhati was appointed as a judge who is wife of present justice of Rajasthan HC. They may be very good in the field but why does it keep repeating. Sons, daughters and wifes of Justices always get this advantage.
