As someone who ships cargo via air for a living. Southwests model makes them by far the best cargo service out there. We really need them back.

Hub and Spoke model is more expensive long term. Having flights originate out of different locations rather than hubs means more complicated scheduling systems but also lower turnaround times so planes are flying more frequently in the day. More flights = more seats = more profits

The DOT needs to do more to hold these airlines accountable. I was on military leave and Air Canada canceled my International flight, yelled at me when I tried to rebook for the same day, lost my luggage, BROKE my wife’s suitcase, and took time from my paid leave days and didn’t reimburse me because the canceled flight was “not their fault”

I'm confused I feel like most of my southwest flights go through a couple of main hubs too, is it some kind of combined model?

These are crew hubs. They have more gates but they don’t keep their aircraft stored there and most likely don’t have maintenance facilities.

I have noticed it. If in Mumbai Airport, I think it would make more sense to talk about Indigo, GoAir, and Air India. Those are the national carriers for India that are domestic, small in size. Similar to the size of a United or Southwest B737.

Many thanks to Southwest Airlines for being the best thing that ever happened to the traveling public. I certainly trust their management to solve their problems more than I trust some DOT bureaucrat with a degree in transgender studies.

Weather wasn't really the issue. It just happened to be the little push over the edge. The CEO knew what needed to be fixed just like the other big 3. It's happened to many others before, so hun vs station isn't the problem.

Southwest does actually have a hub in Houston. Spirit has a hub in LAX, Frontier in Orlando, Allegiant in Pittsburgh, JetBlue in NY, and Alaska in SFO. Oh, yeah… And Breeze Airways is based in… (Gets punched in the mouth by creator)

Well, Southwest is trash when they cancel. And they cancel at the last minute and don't do much to help you rebook. So there model needs to change Communication is ghetto. They tried to keep me stranded in Cancun (never coming here again. The system is built to Rob tourist) for three days. The people in my family who used United just had delays. We had to cancel southwest altogether and use another airline. This is my first experience with SW in inclement weather and they truly suck

They're scheduling for planes is completely mixed up and causing a HUGE problem!!! ..... They had scheduled smaller sized planes after having sold seats to fill a much larger plane... Fortunately, I was still able to get home that night ... LATE!!! .... but I still made it home!! Thank you to the 30 passengers who volunteered to give up their seats in exchange for a voucher to fly with them AGAIN!! ..... I'd also like to note : THEY LIED TO ALL OF THE VOLUNTEERS!!! ... BY TELLING THEM THAT THEY WOULD RECEIVE $1500 IN FREE FLIGHT VOUCHERS, THEN CAME BACK ON THEIR WORD BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER APPROVED!!!! ..... KINDA SHITTY!!! ..... NEVER FLY SOUTHWEST AGAIN !!
