Yet you’re here saying he can’t contribute to Africa because he wasn’t born there. We start with region blocks, I am Kenyan, who holds an East Africa passport, meaning I do not need avisa to go to TZ, Uganda, Rwanda, S Sudan, Burundi Drc and soon Somali. We have railway and roads connecting this region. I can use my ID and work without a permit in Ug and Rwanda. We are working on monetary union and free trade. It has come to our attention that individuals, organizations, and corporations are deliberately misclassifying Americans of American Indian and colonial European descent as "Black" or "African American" for profit. This misclassification violates treaties, constitutions, and covenants, and it is imperative that this practice be discontinued immediately. Misidentifying Americans of American Indian and colonial European descent as "Black" or "African American" erases their unique cultural heritage and history, infringing upon their right to self-determination and self-identification. The Indian Bill of Rights, Indian Civil Rights Act, and American Indian Self-determination and Education Assistance Act of 1975 were enacted to protect the rights of American Indians and colonial European descent Americans. Furthermore, treaties such as the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek, the Treaty with the Cherokee, and the Treaty of Delaware were established to safeguard the sovereignty and self-determination of American Indian tribes. The Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States also ensure the fundamental rights of all Americans, regardless of their race or ethnicity. Additionally, the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples recognizes the right of Indigenous peoples to self-determination and the preservation of their cultural identity. By perpetuating the false belief in race and imposing the identity of "Black" or "African American" on Americans of American Indian and colonial European descent, these individuals, organizations, and corporations are promoting a caste system identity that does not exist and undermining the principles of liberty and justice for all upon which the United States of America was founded. Therefore, we demand that all social media companies, elected officials, public servants, public corporations, and their agents and partners immediately cease and desist from using terms such as FBA, Black, Afro-American, African Americans, minorities, people of color, communities of color, ADOS, or any other marketing slogan or racist term to describe and determine the identity of Americans of American Indian and colonial European descent with ruddy, tawny, brunette, fair, swarthy, and dark skin tones as "Black" or "African American." This is why I question the motives behind, most so called "diaspora" movers, this man shows that making it work takes genuine motive, by immersing yourself in the society (learns the language, lives their life, and contributing..). You may be black but wherever you carry the WS mindset(lens of view of the locals..), will never work. Africa requires rolling up your sleeves and be ready to immerse yourself in the culture

This young man is an example of clear, objective, and intuitive thought. None of the whining and over sensitivity my generation (Black man born in Harlem in the 1960's) disdains. I'd love to see him in a political or organizational leadership position.

True. Too many people prioritize what it is that they are *_against._* When they should actually prioritize what it is that they are *_for._* When you live life by affirming the positive and not the negative...then it will open your mind to all sorts of possibilities that you never knew was there.

Nephew Mark is truly an inspiration. He has accomplished more in three years than most people have done in a lifetime .Mark said it best , if you are messed up in the western cultures , don't expect a fixed all solution when moving Africa. You have to plan , have long-term thinking , right type of mentality .give up pride , work with the local people , learn both the language as well as culture . You will change AAfrica , you can only change yourself

I really like Mark. He is practical and humble. I moved to Mexico when I was 22 years old. Fresh out of College. Like Mark, I moved to a City but not the biggest, and lived.amongst the Mexicans, there were very few Americans where I lived, and even fewer Black people. This is what Mark did. He learned about the people and how they think. He had the humility to listen before he spoke. This is the way to move abroad successfully. To adapt and listen, first. Then talk and expand. Very smart kid. I wish him and Kenganda Podcast continued success. Great Interview.

This is the way. The Anthony Bordain (RIP) approach to traveling abroad. Learn the locals perspective from the people themselves. Learn the culture, the history, the local hole in the wall food spots, etc. Then form your opinion once you have an authentic understanding. Anything else will have you projecting your own assumptions on to the community and missing the intricacies.

Reading the comments, I can see that many people can't understand where Mark's source of income comes from. If people look at his channel's content they will have a better understanding. Mark shows a great ability to adapt to whatever environment he finds himself in. While he would like to see people treat each other better, I have never watched any video where he is complaining about his physical environment. There is a video where he and his friend Kate are cooking, but while they are doing the cooking, with an open fire which some Americans might consider less than ideal, they are having some kind of philosophical conversation that is a source of laughter and fun for them. I have watched that video many times, it is funny. For me Mark is the quintessential Repat.

We need more people like this in the world. To be so young and yet so well thought out. It's funny you got older people out there that have never learned, and this guy that is so open to learning. I'm a world student as well. Good interview.

Mark, the best way to experience a different culture, especially in the region you chose, is to do exactly what you did: Not to Plan anything! That, is true adventure.! It usually works better. You meet the Real People of the country. They have the opportunity to discover who you are you too. It also takes you away from the things you would not get on a Tour... It is how I started out too. I love it!!!

I also live in Tanzania with a traditional woman. Mark is a good acquaintance of mine, but he is very young and did not experience the bad in America. He has never been to a place outside of the suburbs in America. He has more experience dealing with people in Tanzania than he does in America. at the same time people need to be warned that America is very different not everybody in Tanzania, which is mostly peaceful country can handle a America Especially, black America places like New York Baltimore places of that nature Chicago. These people aren’t used to living under those conditions on the fear of being shot by their fellow man. They are not even used to people speaking to them aggressively here so I disagree that people shouldn’t be warned about what’s going on if they were killing people in North Korea and they say oh you shouldn’t go to North Korea because of XYZ wouldn’t you be grateful for that information or would you rather go die? 😂 they don’t even have active shooters in Tanzania. There is no such thing as mass shootings here you don’t think people deserve to hear that kind of information. Even Columbia people need to know that in Columbia, they are drugging people be aware that they are drugging people in Columbia it’s just giving people valid information that could save their lives. Do you know how many people from Tanzania I met that went to America and said they were made fun of by their own people calling them dirty Africans. 😂 it’s not just Americans providing this information to them. They’re all rich Tanzania’s not everyone and Tanzania is poor. I think Mark just is around only poor Tanzanians but if you go to any gym in Tanzania any gym in the main areas, there’s only rich Tanzanians that go to these places. Not everyone and Tanzania lives in little huts and hobbles people have mansion size houses. 😂 there’s plenty of Tanzanian’s and Kenyans with more money than Americans. Especially the men that create these functioning businesses in these countries.

There is your answer why black people are some of the most gullible people and easily get fleeced when someone with a sweet tongue comes along. Listen to how many adults assuming this young man has any worldly experience worth much. It does not seem like he has any college or professional experience so how exactly can he judge much. He is getting experience on the ground but I wish black people in general were less naive.

great conversation. I spent almost my entire 3 trips to Nigeria getting to know the various cultures I was exposed to through learning the language, food, history, etc. I kept any kind of inward reflection or negative feelings about Amerikkkan abuses to myself. It was constanty bubbling to the surface though. I had to keep it in check though and dealt with it spiritually. I labeled it a , "reconciling of 400 years of my generations". A lot of us need counseling either before or while we begin our repatriation journey...for real.

As always O'shay and Joanita excellent interview, the young brother is on another level of positive enlightenment. To leave the USA at 19 and be living in Africa(Tanzania) amongst the people is beautiful, if more young brothers and sister's could come together, like this when they come to an African Country and live amongst the locals learn the culture and language and above all learn from each other and build spaces and places to benefit the young African, can only benefit from that. I think older people tend to be to stubborn and don't like change, we're as young people (some not all) are all about solutions. I must say like someone said in the comments this young brother should run for a political seat in the future with the right training and support and backing of the community where he's at he would be fair, have everyone's interest at heart. Once again O'shay, Thank you brother you truly are a legend for all you do for the Community. Peace love and massive respect.
