This video is old, but I have something to say The way they reused the characters in different ways in the older seasons. I could tell how they would react. Browngreenish fish with a purple shirt got unnecessarily angry. "DID YOU SAY CHOCOLATE?" and "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY DRINK" my leg guy hurts his leg. All the time. The surfer fish is a cooler person with a chill personality. Those minor characters are one of the things that made me live for spongebob

I personally think it's mostly because the team added things to the show using gags from shows they watched and the fact that back then the censors on what was deemed child appropriate were loose where as to now if its not deemed appropriate for five year olds it isn't appropriate for anyone ( I was 8 yrs old when Spongebob came out so I've been around since season one)

I personally liked Season 8. Suggestion: Go through some long running shows you like(d), and see if you think they went through seasonal rot.

You definitely notice a difference between the old and the new SpongeBob. I still watch the show just because I fell in love with the characters.

last year i watched the scene in the lost episode where they bury spongebobs pants & its a hell of a lot sadder now that stephens gone. it actually made me cry :’( he was gonna work on it as long as he could but it wasnt long enough :( he was cremated & his ashes were spread in the ocean. he didnt want any stupid fucking spinoffs but nicks being cheap-asses like mr krabs, not even stopping with kamp koral or patricks stupid damn show & giving all the other characters theirs too :( they shouldve made the first movie the finale like he wanted. the super bowl shouldve played sweet victory at the halftime show too :(

There were great episodes through seasons 4 to 8 and only a very few for season 9, after that it really went downhill for me. The last season with the animation I liked was season 8.

But it’s not only with spongebob that was better. It’s with all animations back then like powerpuff girls, totally spies, dexters laboratory and back then you had better animation series in general.

Everyone hates on the new seasons but idk, ive been watching them now after watching 1-4 over and over again and its very different, but idk, it's so crazy. It's like everyone is on crack or something. I've found it very interesting. Not as iconic or intelligent as the first 3 or 4 seasons but it has definitely made me laugh a few times. It's so random and the craziest shit happens and none of the characters even acknowledge it in any way. Some random wacky shit will happen very unexpectedly and i'm just like "WHAT? wtf just happened??" but the show just goes on like nothing even happened. Its wild. Not as good as the beginning, its just different
