the way the brass plate comes off is way better then the idaboa id 80 v2 i’m glad that idaboa is making improvements

I actually like this build. Maybe the sound isnt what you wanted but the bottom facing rgb feels less juvenile than an open design with rgb leaking from every key cap. The keycap colors are great and and i kinda like the orange backlight effect. Like a subdued amber which is not unlike aircraft instrumentation and older sports cars where research said red/orange light was less fatiguing. I like that the backlight is a backlight and not a flashing rgb distraction and works independently and simultaneously with the rgb. if you just need to see at night because you're not a master typist and occasionally look at your hands you don't have to change your rgb profile to do it.

I got the scarlet instead for a bit more! (pom plate o ring gasket mount, etc so I think its worth the bit of money)

I was looking at it as well. Personally I’m waiting for the frog and the sixtyfive. From the sound tests the scarlet looks really good for clack, not for thock (which is fantastic for me because I much prefer clack. And yeah for the extra money, I’d say the scarlet is twice as good as this because of the integrated plate (causes lots of pinging) and acrylic bottom. Good luck on the scarlet because the phantom had heaps of plate issues.

There has to be a problem with how stabilizers are engineered, right? I haven’t tried c3 or zeal, but my durock v1/v2 / cherry plate, pcb mount/GMK pcb mount all required similar levels of tuning to sound as good as possible. If $25 stabilizers rattle out of the box, then I feel like there needs to be some innovation in the design..

I feel like stabilisers need a redesign in general so that no tuning is needed. I don't see why it can't just be designed in a way so that it sounds good stock

My durock V2s did not fit in the idobao id87 v2. I had to grind down the metal in order for the durock stabilizers to fit.

Hey I wanna ask smth. I got a new keyboard but my keys don't have stabilisers. I mean the plastic bit on the sides are there just not the wires. It works fine but just askign if that a big problem. Also should I lube my holy pandas. Like is that necessary?

You should def get stabilisers, as without them if you press too far to the side the switch might not get pushed down all the way. And technically you don’t need to lube switches, but you probably should as it makes them smoother and sound better.

Im confused. If there is no room for foam, then foam isn't needed? The purpose of foam is to fill dead space and absorb sound...no? So if there is no room to fit foam, it means there isn't dead space to fill?
