Sounds like more chaotic nonsense being pushed. 6:45 Reminds me of several times I was out on a hike in a local state forest (public place with wooded trails) by myself and I saw a woman up ahead walking the trail toward me that had a noticeable look of fear/uncertainty in her eye once she saw me walking in her direction. One of them looked like she wanted to crap her pants and all I was doing was simply walking down the trail. No gun. No knife. No walking stick. No backpack. Just me and the clothes on my back. We were even within sight and earshot of a parking area with cars and a few people there. At that moment I also thought to myself, "If you're that afraid of meeting somebody out here on this PUBLIC trail, why are you doing this to yourself and getting yourself so stressed? Why don't you stay at home until you can come out here with somebody?" All is not lost, though. There have also been times when I met women alone out on the wooded trails and they were genuinely relaxed and friendly and were glad to meet somebody on their hike.

I'm almost 52 and already did the marriage/family court thing, so i no longer give two shits what women think or want. My plan is to leave Canada or, at the very least, be able to send my son to a better country for a letter financial and family future.

Grizzly and brown bear encounters are a lot different than ones with black bears. Also, having a bear go through your campsite at Yosemite in the middle of the night is not a real bear encounter.

In the aviation industry, we use scenario based training. Basically that’s putting the pilot in a scenario and asking them what they’d do, and explaining what that decision might lead to. It’s an effective way to aid the decision making process and prevent accidents. As it pertains to this little bear scenario, I think women think they’re being clever in picking the bear. When in reality, it’s evidence that they demonstrate behaviors that put them at risk for accidents. In the real world it just doesn’t fly. We as pilots or any other profession, we aren’t looking to be cute or clever. This field I am in is not the field to be that way. We are sincerely trying to survive, protect ourselves and the souls on board and below us on the ground. These women are wasting people’s time. I can imagine them playing this game with true professionals in whatever field and realizing they don’t get endorsed to move forward. These women are probably not the most successful people in life because they lack basic life and basic survival skills that are inherent even in children, who know not to go near bears and that adults would almost always be the safest bet.

It is a fun question to dig into. - what kind of bear, where is the woods, what time of year, exactly how "trapped" are we, do we have any survival gear? - is the woman skilled, does she have survival gear, is she a stranger or a friend, does she know the landscape?

I think the women commenting on this topic aren't the same as the one's who actually go to the woods (suprise suprise). I've been given this topic a lot/too much thought and realised I've spent a lot of time hiking through woods (and mountains etc) in the UK and Spain and encountered many women and they've never been negative towards me. I think this is just the same as the armchair experts saying Serena Williams would beat most men - when she said herself no way.

When I think of coming across a random guy in the woods, the first thing that comes to my mind, are those guys from "Deliverance". And I think most women think the same thing. What kind of guy is hanging out in the woods? I would absolutely opt for the bear.
