You and I are going to drink a lot of coffee together. Like, borderline dangerous amounts of coffee.
So, first things first. Pour yourself a mug and I’ll introduce myself real quick.
My name’s Jordan - but everyone calls me “J” - and I’m a 27th degree black belt in chugging coffee.
I’m also strength & nutrition coach, I hold several powerlifting world records, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have my writing featured in a variety of outlets like CNN, the Huffington Post, and Schwarzenegger.com.
But listen.
This channel isn’t for fame, publicity, cash, props, fist bumps, likes, pings, pows or whatever else there is.
It’s a place where you and I can chat.
I’ll never sugar coat, lie, or beat around the bush. I’ll tell you everything exactly as I see it. Some stuff you might like. Others you might not.
And that’s totally cool.
Either way, my goal here is to create a discussion. A place where you and I can get together, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to be better every day.
Like I said, we’re gonna drink a lot of coffee together - borderline dangerous amounts - but I’m excited. Because there aren’t too many online communities in which the sole purpose is to inspire and motivate one another.
And that’s exactly what you and I are going to do here.
To your success,
-J

In September I started working on caloric deficit at 460lbs (Im 6'3) and I've lost 46 pounds! Over the years I've tried many diets from "fitness instructor" but now I've learnt I've been eating too little. You literally saved me Jordan. It's like you said consistency is the key. I'm eating what I want and still hitting my calories. Thank you!

Simple does not mean easy 🤯🤯 ugh, so true! I am constantly sabotaging myself by believing it’s way more complicated than it is… and I keep waiting until I find whatever the special “secret” is to start.

I love this! The weekends have been destroying me! Friday night take out (because I'm burned out from cooking healthy all week) and beers at the bar with my husband every Sunday watching football and bar food have been sabotaging my progress. Thank you so much I needed to hear this!

I got a new scale at the start of the year, and so far I'm on track to end the year with a 0.6lb/wk average loss. Slow weight loss definitely hides from us, but it's wild to see results. I actually was in a bit of a discouraged mental state around the time I needed to pull out my winter clothes this year--until I realized none of my warm pants fit and my hoodies hang to my knees! I got bold, and went to *that* part of my wardrobe and easily fit into a pair of size 16 jeans! I'm actually down to almost nothing in the forbidden section of the closet, and really need to replace many items that are comically oversized. 0.6lbs feels like nothing when you're 2 weeks in and barely see the scale move at al, but time and patience really are the key ingredients.

I'm losing at .60 per week also! Yes, it's slow, but I think that's healthy and will cause less loose skin, and be sustainable. Also, not starving to achieve a quicker loss works for me. We can do it! Slow but sure 🐌. ❤

The “I should” be losing more weight is tough now. I have so many friends in ozempic and that’s all they are doing and I’m moving all the big rocks, they are losing weight so fast. But I will say I was talking to my friend who has lost 68 lbs since March-April in ozempic. I touched her arm and it was spongey, I might weight the same but I absolutely have hard defined arms, bicep and triceps that actually weigh something. So I hope my shit isn’t broken lol, I’m just working through the self talk about it. I think it’s completely human nature to observe and compare. I don’t think it’s abnormal not observe feelings about this.🤷🏻‍♀️But we also have to be cognizant of our self talk. I KNOW I am making investments in health, not just a number on the scale.

Every bite counts those Licks, Tastes, Bites, are what always get me. I end up a few hundred calories over without even realizing it until I am not seeing progress. I used to be a big weekend warrior, super strict during the week and then a weekend warrior. Now I am in the 80/20 rule and life is so much better. I also track my daily dark chocolate in take but it is in my plan so I can enjoy it and not worry about being over my calories. Lastly, I used to do triathlons and was an avid runner which allowed me to eat more and eat while training. It has been a learning process to say the least to not put back in the calories burned from strength training. Removing the calorie feature on my Garmin is super helpful. Eat my protein, build some muscle, do zone cardio, and enjoy life. Thank you Jordan. You and your no B.S. Content is much appreciated.

The information that you’re putting out is just ridiculously helpful. I lost 50 pounds 4 years ago and have maintained that weight loss within about 10 pounds since. I’ve been wanting to lose an extra 10-15 but definitely get caught up in the binge restrict cycle. Your videos just really show how we can get so in our heads even if we know what to do! And your chill relaxed view on it just really helps me chill out and stop overthinking it lol thanks Jordan!

After having my son I tried to drop my calories to lose baby weight quickly. It was extremely unsuccessful because 1. It was unsustainable 2. I was breastfeeding and was HUNGRY. After he turned a year old I re-approached weight loss to body recomposition. I ate at calorie maintenance but focused on my preferred regimen (mix of walking, Pilates, weights, and mobility on recovery days). I have held my weight, but dropped a dress size. I am in much better physical health and can easily keep up with my wild child and I’m grateful for advice from yourself and others on the approach of consistency. I’m now starting a calorie deficit of 200-250 daily, shooting for 0.5 lbs a week on average. Because of you I can appreciate the slow and steady approach and appreciate my progress with metrics BEYOND the scale.
