And How To Prevent The GREEN LIGHT OF DEATH.... I made this video to help troubleshoot some issues if you have a flashing green light on your Maxxair Fan in your camper van but also to help you know how to prevent it to avoid getting the light in the first place!
This isn't the only cause of the flashing green light but it is what killed the circuit board on my last fan!

I had this problem last summer (I live in Tucson, AZ). I tore my fan apart and found more than a few subpar solder joints at some of the capacitors. Took it into the shop, resoldered the board, and now it works like a dream

To protect against condensation, stash some silicon gel packs around the Motherboard. Replace at least every six months. We had to seal the controls for our refrigerator with clear packing tape to protect the electronics from leaks.

Hahaha I have one somewhere in the van, I just couldn't find it 😅 I used it as a paint brush a few weeks ago & haven't been able to find it since LOL... But that's fine because I found some screwdrivers on the internet that are also mini lightsabers so if I can't find it its an excuse to invest 🤣

Love your videos. 1 tip, 1 question. Tip that grey ring on your Ryobi drill is a clutch. The lower the number the lighter the clutch. So if you want to keep from getting all dizzy going in circles, set the clutch to a low number and use the drill normally. if not enough to tighten the screw go up one number at a time. The final top symbol is when you want to drill something and want no slippage. Question: I'm installing a very similar radiant floor in my vehicle. I developed it myself by doing tons of research, but it is basically the same principle as you have installed. What are you going to install on top of your radiant heated floor? That is the only piece I haven't determined. Wood, vinyl, bamboo, tile, etc ??? Thanks again for enlightening and entertaining us.

Wahoo you’re doing it more videos you did such a good job on this what else could you do like this I have two max air fans in my trailer haven’t even hook them up they’ve been in there for two years I think the warranty is out good to see you do you know what about the red rubberized paint people should use this on the whole inside and outside that you don’t mind the color I put it on the roof of my trailer because rust issues inside and out I’m typically in Hot climates so I’m going to paint over the red with the white paint the red was just to stop the rust this actually makes a 20° difference in temperature hard to believe in it that’s why I put 3 inch insulation in the ceiling with an air gap with Havelock wool wanted to test the moisture issue with the sheep wool

I am surprised that the boards aren't coated at the factory considering what they are designed to do and where they go. My company builds circuit boards for sonar systems which go at the bottom of naval ships, and we conformal coat everything.

That is absolute BS on Maxx fans part. They probably designed that way on purpose to rip you off into buying another mother board, not right when they can do the same thing you just did at production.
@ToryDelury

AGREED! 📈📈 And the fact that this isn’t just one issue is a list of issues that has been known for years & I don’t see any visible changes towards anything when looking at a fan from 2020-2024 just means they really don’t care & are just sitting back taking money pumping out the same dysfunctional fans ☠️ (I will say the customer service was very helpful when I called for my last replacement though & I even lied to them saying it hadn’t been over 2 years since I bought it 😂😅 so at least they are responsive & helpful!) But I don’t get why they don’t just cut their customer service problems in 1/2 by just fixing these problems! Someone commented on my last video saying some of it is user error but idk… even then they should still at least educate their buyers to not make these common “user errors” if that’s what it truly is

@@ToryDelury Sadly, it's because the circuit boards are made in high quantity batches for maybe $5 - 15 in parts and pennies apiece in labour. Changing them would require investing new money into design and re-vamping the build process to match. The greedy don't want to incur new costs when they can just keep selling cheap inventory they already have in supply. It won't change until people stop buying and tell them why...

5:27 -- What?! No Wonder-woman costume? Maybe you need more rest. All kidding aside, you make a lot of good points and probably the moisture issue is the biggest one to address. Another option I've seen people use is to just hook up an after-market motor controller instead of the provided circuit-board (somewhere convenient for their build) and run the wires to the fan. This might be useful for you, as you could have as many speeds as you want and you could also reverse the wires (using a two or three position switch) so you could use the fan in both directions. There's *no need* to pay those kinds of prices for what is basically a motor controller with the ability to reverse the polarity -- just my 2 cents, since you're broke -- hope it helps at some point. Cheers!...from North Vancouver

I was having the green light problem. I bought the fan with a remote but found I never used the remote. I would keep the remote near the fan. I started keeping the fan in a drawer and that’s when I started getting the green light errror. I’d reset the fuse and it would go away for a bit but it kept coming back. I realized it was the remote. As soon as I removed the batteries from the remote the green light stopped going off.

Maxxair fan 07500K delux. I installed TWO voltage reducers in line. First reduced the voltage to 13.3 volts, the 2nd reducer dropped the voltage to 12.1 volts. In the mountains, it will run for hours, but near the Charleston SC coast, it trips even before the cover is open. What a piece of junk. I may have to try your solution to see what happens.
