Thank you very much for playing this beautiful little song. If you get a chance, could you play another little bitty song also by Dolly Part on that I heard a couple of months ago called, "Me and Little Andy". I would really appreciate your reactions, your comments and your thoughts what you think of the words, the voices and of coyyrse the situation. It means so much to me. Have a blessed evening Amigo. Adios.

This is a true story. Dolly was one of 11 children and grew up dirt poor and never forgot it! She does sooooo much for charity. She is for education and has a program called Dolly's imagination Library where any child can sign up to receive free books. She's a sweetheart! The coat of many colors is preserved in a museum

Dolly called this is her most autobiographical song. While her songs are often inspired by events in her life, this one is the story of what actually happened. She came up dirt poor, her parents & their 11 children (a 12th died) in a small cabin, with no electricity or running water. Neither Dolly nor her mother knew for certain what happened to the original coat. They assumed it was passed down till it wore out or was repurposed. Dolly's mother made an "as near as possible duplicate" coat, which is on display at Dollywood.

Actually, I think that I love this version best. Just her and her guitar. And yes, it was a true story. They grew up very poor.

Dolly has so many great songs, but this one always gets me. My parents grew up poor kids of the depression, and it always makes me think of how hard they and my grandparents had it. So glad you reacted to it. Dolly is a prolific songwriter, with so many good stories. An overlooked one is "Mountain Angel" has an awesome story like most of her songs. Thanks! I am enjoying binge watching your vids now that I found you!

If she heard you call her hot,she would giggle like a school girl. She is still stunning to this day both inside and out.She has a theme park near my home (Gatlinburg Tennessee)A couple of years ago we had wildfires and many lost everything.Dolly donated $100,00. A month for 6 months to every household who lost everything through a self created charity called "my people".It was over 9 million dollars.

Another popular story telling song about growing up poor but with love is Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miners Daughter". Maybe some people think that Dolly Patron's song Jolene is dark. It is not happy. Her song "Down from Dover" is one I found dark. The first time I heard the song was Nancy Sinatra version. Then I saw that Dolly wrote it. Yeh. That song is very depressing. And yes I Nancy is Frank Sinatra's daughter if you didn't know already. I'm assuming you know who Frank Sinatra is. If not. He is another voice that many reactors fall in love with. Take him to the beach (did I get your saying correct?)

Hi.I am sure you don't know who this lady is,but a really big singer from the 70s died yesterday. Her name is Helen Reddy and she was very popular in the 70s.She had several hit songs, her own variety tv show and was host of the Midnight Special for awhile. If you don't know the Midnight Special, you will soon because you will be doing a lot of reactions to videos from that show.I think it would be a nice tribute to react to her first and biggest hit.It was called "I am woman" and is a very empowering song for women, which at that time was very important.I know many of your older followers would like to see a tribute to this lady. Thanks Aslo, just learned that another 70s icon also died yesterday. His name is Mac Davis and he had many hits, his own variety tv show and was in a few movies. It would be a great tribute to react to his version of probably his most famous song.He wrote the Elvis Presley hit "In the Ghetto".He has a video of him singing it himself. That would be a great tribute to him.

Do you realize how unbelievably difficult it is to play guitar with those nails? She has a very shallow angle in which to fret those those cords and she nails it like it’s nothing.
