Devastating wildfires, human eating wild animals, and one rude person won't stop us from enjoying 26 miles of the popular Biz Johnson adventure trail in the Lassen NF.
BUT, two flat tires, 13 miles from base camp, might just put a wrench in our travels! Come along as we leave our RV base camp and travel 26 miles on e-bikes through amazing Outback wilderness.

Welcome to DestinationOpenRoad! We are Scott & Teri. We live full-time in our Heartland Big Country 29.50 5th wheel trailer. I loved this bike ride! Teri I held by breath as you made your way up that steep part. You are much braver than I am. Punkin looked so cute at the end of the video, curled up beside you on the sofa. No doubt dreaming about the most wonderful day!

One good thing about California is that it has absolutely beautiful outback country and scenic mountains and a beautiful coast line ----we have the same in South Carolina and a lot more friendly to your pocketbook !!!!!!! Just saying !!! Safe travels and keep vigilant !!!!!!!

Great video guys! You two are awesome! Enjoyed going along with you as I'm on east coast and the terrain here is so different! Don't pay attention to those peddle bikers, they're young and will find out with maturity that ebikes open up the world to people that can't do that peddle thing anymore. Wow! What a ride! The elevation looks daunting even with an eBike! Etiquette says you stay to the right and pass on the left but that guy was going too fast and should have slowed and let you know. Injuries and accidents happen when people are startled by such action as what he did. Great video! I'm ready to go there!

That was awesome!!!!! Thanks for the ride along. I will say there are a lot of bike riders, the ones that wear the fancy bike riding gear, that are rude. I drive my local parks and they speed faster than the park limit, run stop signs, etc. Not all but a few. I want an electric trike so bad. Two metal knees , kind of afraid of a two wheeler. How freaking great was that tunnel! ❤

You were looking at the devastation from Dixie Fire just over 1million acres burned. You might check out Roxie Pinicom next time mile past turn off to Goumaz on the left. Also boon docking spot at trail head for Bizz Johnson trail off Road A21 on right headed North.

Hi guys! I have to say it really concerned me how difficult that hill was on you Teri. And I definitely was concerned at how far ahead Scotty rode fm you while on the trail. Fabulous job covering the e-bike adventure. I ride an e-bike but haven’t had the chance to do such a fabulous ride. I got a flat riding over beach rose thorn once. Quite surprised my new tires didn’t resist . Might want to line tires with protective cover. I never have but don’t ride really back country trails😢

That was a beautiful trail ride. If the trees weren't burned you wouldn't be able to see all those mountains and valleys. It will be nice to see the forest green again though. The watermelon looked delicious. I must say that guy really got Terri riled up 'cause that's the first time I heard her cussing. 😂

I think Susanville is a must see place. I've watched you all go through there at one time or another. Mostly I remember it from when Daves RV life stopped and wanted to get some pie from a place and it was closed. He was so sad. LOL I wish I could do what your doing. Those bikes a great fun. Pedalled up the mountain for 15 miles. And when your at over 5000 feet of elevation you either take it easy or you ride home in a helicopter

I'll bet those bird nests are swallows. What a trip. Hey my sister lives near Palm Springs. She said McDonald's happy meal is 20 bucks and McDonald's are closing all stores in cali. We left 20 years ago, and we thought back then was bad. Wonder when the mad exodus is. It would be fun to sit along the freeways...the 10 and the 15 and the 60 and count how many trailers heading out. 😊....... I enjoy your channel.

Awesome ride!! I try to carry an extra tube, patches, tire levers and a co2 inflator. Although I'm not sure the inflator would work well with fat tires.

Nice ride! I would love to have an ebike but afraid my balance is too bad. Maybe when I'm in Q I can make a trip to Lectrik and try one out. Hugs to Punkin please. I miss my Gerti so much. Safe travels.

To be honest I wouldn't buy any Lectrik bike they seem to have problems but that's just what I've seen. But what ever you do I'm sure you will enjoy.

Hey Terry and Scott, Tim and Jill here from the wonderful state of Oregon it’s sunshiny today it’s Sunday the ninth watch your videos great long ride on electric bike I could never make it my back wouldn’t handle it fact I sold my electric bike as it is anyway guys, thanks for the thumbs up Jill and I’ll hope to run into you this next year I know you are headed to Washington state and I am in Oregon. Unfortunately my RV needs a valve job so I get to spend a bunch of money… so my wings are kind of clipped for a month or two until I can get the valve job done. She’s an old one, but she’s a good one… Lol anyway you guys have a safe trip travel safe. Look forward to the next video… :-)… PS the guy on the bike good thing he is ahead of you guys….cougar bait… L O L

I would have loved to be riding my e-bike along that trail with you two! I've got two dogs, one at 41 pounds, one at 45 pounds and a bike trailer that holds the two of them with an extra battery, LOL! With friends, someone can leave their truck at one end of the trail.
